SURFERS HARDWARE SPECIALISTS Established in Australia back in 1974 we were looking for ways to enjoy our surfing lifestyle. Friends surfing together and enjoying world quality waves in our own back yard. We made leashes to take to Bali in 1972 and used our ideas to establish a business making accessories and surfboards. Improvements to leashes came quickly and surf shops around Australia began to recognise BALIN as leaders and innovators specialising in the design of leashes, board bags and deck grips. Our Original Design Patent on the polyurethane moulding technology won an Australian Design Award and our products established export markets in USA, Japan and Europe. We now specify the same high quality materials with our source factories and can supply the exact same products to our precise specifications throughout the world. The first moulded end piece was invented and patented by Balin, in fact, the prototype was a cut down and remodelled skateboard wheel in 1979. Our moulding technology is unique to Balin. There are no ‘slots‘ in our moulds. This means we can achieve a higher ratio of bonded surface area to weight, therefore the leash is stronger and lighter.

Balin deck grips have been established for hardcore use. All features you would expect have been built in.
