With each passing year, the Federation helps JFS continue to bring enhanced programs and projects to the community. Shelley Rivkin, Vice President, Local and Global Engagement for the Jewish Federation of Greater Vancouver notes that the role of the Federation has evolved “…to a role where we collaborate [with JFS] on identifying new and emerging social issues that impact community members, explore possible projects and/or best practices that address these issues, and then work together on implementation.”

With shared values and priorities, our organizations have been able to introduce notable initiatives in the past year which include responding to the Ukraine temporary visitor program, youth support training with the Jewish Community Centre (JCC), food programs for children and youth, and a focus on “Hard to House.”

“We demonstrate to our community how we are at our best and most effective when we can each bring our respective skills and strengths to the table and explore solutions equitably and collectively.” – Shelley Rivkin

Together, we are strengthening programs, relationships, and the greater community. We are so grateful for amazing partnerships like this one.
