Maintain a minimum 2.0 GPA and earn a grade of “C” or better in required courses. Pass all skills and competencies within three attempts. Cheating results in dismissal. Makeup tests must be completed promptly.
Students are assigned a faculty advisor for guidance and academic support. Additional tutoring and remediation are available as needed.
Copiers, library materials, and lab supplies must be used according to college policies. Expired materials are not to be used on humans.
Wear proper PPE, follow OSHA guidelines, and maintain professionalism in all settings. Cell phone use during lab or practicum is prohibited unless educational.
Maintain current CPR certification, immunizations, health insurance, and professional liability insurance. Background checks and drug screenings may affect clinical placement.
Complete required credits with a minimum 2.0 GPA, earn “C” or better in all courses, complete 25% of coursework at JCC, submit graduation application, and clear any balances.

Earn a C or better in all program courses
Hold a 2.0 GPA or higher
Complete at least 25% of coursework at JCC

A dismissal means an “F” grade and possible denial of re-admission.
DACA students may enroll in health science programs but are not guaranteed licensure eligibility. They must meet all standard admission and program requirements. Undocumented students are not eligible to apply, as they cannot obtain professional licensure under NC and federal law. American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT)
Applicants for ARRT certification must answer the following ethics-related questions:
1.Have you ever been charged with or convicted of a misdemeanor or felony (including court convictions and military court-martial)?
2.Have you ever had disciplinary actions from a certification board or regulatory agency related to a professional license, permit, registration, or certification?
3.Have you ever voluntarily withdrawn from—or been suspended, dismissed, or expelled from—an educational program attended to meet ARRT certification requirements?
Answering “yes” to any of these questions may result in denial of certification by the ARRT.
If you are unsure of your eligibility for certification, you may submit a pre-application to the ARRT. Visit www.arrt.org for more information.
Some states require separate licensure for radiologic technologists. Students are responsible for contacting the licensing agency in the state where they plan to practice.
DACA students are eligible to apply, enroll in health science programs, and take the NCLEX in North Carolina, but licensure is not guaranteed.
All applicants must have a valid Social Security number to receive a license. The NC Board of Nursing accepts:

All applicants should be aware that the NC Board of Nursing requires disclosure of any misdemeanor or felony convictions. These disclosures may affect your eligibility for licensure under the North Carolina Nursing Practice Act.
DACA students are eligible to apply, enroll in health science programs, and take the NCLEX in North Carolina, but licensure is not guaranteed. All applicants must have a valid Social Security number to receive a license.
The NC Board of Nursing accepts:
Type 1: No work restrictions (U.S. citizens/permanent residents)
Type 2: “Valid for work only with DHS authorization” (temporary work authorization)
Undocumented students are not eligible to apply, as they are ineligible for licensure under NC and federal law.
Policies may change based on state, federal, or accrediting body regulations. JCC reserves the right to update restrictions or requirements at any time, with limited notice if mandated by regulatory agencies.
Students who exit the Respiratory Therapy program for any reason may apply for readmission one time only, allowing a total of two attempts—initial admission and one re-entry. A minimum 2.0 GPA from the last college attended is required for consideration. See page 50 for details.
