This project consisted of remodeling a past California Pizza Kitchen in the Colorado Mills Mall. Everything within the space was removed with the exception of the restrooms and the back of house area. The kitchen was significantly altered and enlarged.

A mezzanine with an additional bar was added.

Multiple openings in the exterior wall and mall corridor walls were added with operable windows, stacking overhead doors, and security grill.

This project required me to provide constant coordination with the interior designer, structural engineer, plumbing engineer, and mall authorities.

The Ziggi's Coffee chain is headquartered in northern Colorado.

When I began working on the Ziggi's projects, the company had one building type in a few locations, and I helped design and expand their prototypes to 4 different sizes and looks ranging from a 492 sqft drive-thru only building to 1,800 sf dine-in cafe in over a dozen locations.

The goal of these prototypes is to provide potential franchisees with options for price points, site size limitations, and city exterior material requirements.

This project, located in a industrial area near 8th st. and I-25, was a small warehouse building that we retrofitted a portion into a 2 story office area. The height limits and existing wood framing were very restricting, but with structural modifications, we were able to open the floor plan and provide a large amount of glass between the new office and the remaining warehouse area.

For a law firm in a high-rise downtown, as part of the full floor remodel, I designed a desk for their front reception. This was to impart a highdesign impression to future clients. As a custom buit piece, the desk needed to be functional, monolithic, and use natural materials.

Sketchup & AutoCAD Examples While working at ZP Architects and Engineers, I was exposed to drafting CDs for small architectural and engineering projects. Many of these projects were done in AutoCAD and the 3D view were done in Sketchup.

The following projects are from a tenant remodel, an exterior entry remodel, and a school library remodel.

Archioffice Examples When I began working at MAH, I had no experience with a mac OS or with the drafting software ArchiOffice.

On the first day of work I dedicated my time to diving into the unknown and being as open to instruction as possible. Within a week I was able to begin drafting in earnest, and after several years, I am a advanced user of the program. Although I understand that many architectural firms do not use ArchiOffice, this page displays the use of the program I was able to master in a relatively short period of time. Despite the challenges I faced, I was willing to adapt to a new method of drafting. Although not practiced with daily exposure to Revit, past experiences in learning new drafting techniques will allow me to transition quickly into any new drafting medium as required.

Kitchen Masters Between undergraduate and graduate school, I worked for a residential kitchen remodelling contractor. Drafting, designing, and modelling was done in '2020 Kitchen & Bathroom' and Sketchup software. During my employment, my responsibilities include drafting, computer rendering, pricing materials and labor, placing orders, greeting guests, answering the phone, organizing project folders, receiving and delivering materials, deconstructing existing kitchens and bathrooms, taking photographs, and maintaining the office technology.

Design/Build Bluff, Utah While I was a student at the University of Colorado in Denver I obtained a Design/Build certificate, which requires students to take a certain number of professional practice classes in addition to the proscribed course load. This track included the Design/Build Bluff course, which involved16 students collaborating to design a project during the spring semester, draft the construction documents during the summer, then go to site for the entire fall semester to construct their design. For this project, we had designed and built two 300 square foot cabins. For the design and drafting, we worked in Revit and Sketchup.

This project presented innumerable challenges: severe budget restrictions, unique structural conditions, an accelerated time schedule, limited material availibility, and harsh working conditions.

While much of the general design and construction methods were addressed in the spring, many of the small detail issues were resolved during construction meetings that occurred every evening during the fall.

Graduate School University of Colorado, Denver

Studio 4 consisted in designing a hotel in the art district of Philidelphia. I took inspiration from the grid change of the urban fabric and, with a sense of movement, use that change to 'fracture' the building. This carried from the site into building from through the room design. This class was heavily theory based. For this project, the building was modelled and rendered in Revit, and the room was modelled with Sketchup, and rendered in Kerkythea.

'Comprehensive Studio' was a fish manufacturing, market, and restaurant project in California, drafted in Revit and rendered in Photoshop. It utilized drilled pier pad foundation, structural glazing, and a monolithic roof tying the programs together.

This studio involved developing the project to 'Design Development' phase, and required meeting with engineers to verify constructability.
