BETTER FOR

DUBLIN €27bn Capital Plan to make life better for Dublin commuters Transport services and daily commuting are important issues for families living in Dublin. And as our economy improves, so too must the quality of road, rail, and bus services. For that reason, I and my colleagues in The Labour Party have worked to ensure that the recently announced Capital Plan contains a series of projects that will greatly improve the daily travelling experience for Dublin commuters. As a result, I am proud that over the next five years €3.6 billion will be spent on major public transport services in the capital. This will especially benefit families in our community who rely on these services for their daily commute. Central to this is a new metro linking Dublin city centre, Dublin Airport, and Swords. Importantly, there will be stops in Drumcondra, Griffith Avenue, DCU, Ballymun and Northwood. This will benefit local people, businesses, and tourists, and will also help create construction jobs. Other improvements to bus routes, new vehicles, and a series of Dart, commuter rail, and Luas services, will have a similar impact. We are fully committed to delivering these projects in a timely and efficient manner, in order to improve quality of life in Dublin and make our city Better for All.

■ Better Buses - new and replacement buses and upgrading of existing Quality Bus Corridors ■ Better Metro - construction of new metro link between city centre, Dublin Airport, and Swords to begin in 2021 ■ Better Dart - extension of Dart line to Balbriggan and new Dart Underground Project ■ Better Luas - completion of the cross city Luas project ■ Better Trains - reopening of Phoenix Park Tunnel

Capital Plan delivers better services for families Better Schools The Capital Plan will deliver €3.8 billion in direct funding for primary, secondary, and third level facilities. This will mean more places for children, better and more modern school buildings for them to learn in, and better funding for research at third level.

Better Connectivity Better broadband is vital to the development of local communities throughout Ireland. Better connectivity brings better quality of life and better opportunities for jobs and growth. The Capital Plan is investing significantly to deliver better broadband services.

Better Health Better health services means better facilities for vital treatments for those who need them most. The Capital Plan will provide €450 million funding for improvements to nursing homes, and for the provision of more Primary Care centres.

Better Transport To improve transport for Dublin's North Side, the Capital Plan includes the Metro North, which will service Drumcondra, Griffith Avenue, DCU, Ballymun, and Northwood on the way to the Airport. This will secure the future growth and development of the North side of the city.

Better Housing The Capital Plan includes an additional €500 million for social housing projects to boost our €4 billion housing plan. There will also be a major investment in flood relief schemes to protect homes at risk from flooding.
