A message from our CEO

I am pleased to introduce the John Good Group’s 2024 Impact Report, which captures a year marked by strong growth, purposeful investment, and a deepening commitment to our people, communities and the planet.

2024 was a year of significant progress for the Group. Our turnover rose by 66% to £54.3 million, with profit before tax increasing by 38% to £1.16 million. This growth was driven by a combination of robust organic performance and the successful integration of new businesses: Arthur Smith (Grimsby) Ltd, CT Travel Group Ltd, and Nothing But Ltd.

Our people remain at the centre of our achievements, helping to move the business to new heights. To move a business forward you need two things: to attract and retain skilled and capable people (our headcount now stands at more than 200, up from 98 in 2022), and invest in them to be the best they can be. That’s why we’ve surpassed 2,500 hours of training for our teams for the second year running.

What speaks most to the quality and values of our people is their approach to philanthropy, especially focused in their communities. This year, 90% of colleagues participated in volunteering and pro bono work, delivering 489 hours of valuable support. This impact was extended through our Employee Giving Programme, where £72,789 was donated, supporting a wide range of charities and community projects.

We also advanced our commitment to personal and professional development under the ‘Good Life’ plan, launching the ‘Growing Together’ performance pathways, an online learning platform, and the PeopleFirst HR system, all designed to better support and recognise our teams.

Sustainability continues to underpin our strategy. In 2024, we maintained operational carbon neutrality across all businesses, including our new acquisitions, with our calculations independently validated. Investments in renewable energy, electric vehicles and sustainable infrastructure, such as the opening of Quarry House and TEPS’ new warehouse, demonstrate our planet-first approach. Despite expanding our operations, our carbon intensity ratios improved, with revenue-based emissions down 47% and employee-based emissions down 24%.

Our purpose-driven ethos is further reflected in our ongoing support for the Matthew Good Foundation, which granted £377,547 during 2024, and helped more than 140 organisations.

Looking ahead, we remain focused on building high-capability teams, investing in sustainable growth, and upholding the standards of trust, transparency and accountability that define the John Good Group.

I am grateful to all colleagues, partners and stakeholders for their dedication and support as we continue to grow our impact together.

We truly mean it when we say that our people are our greatest asset. Every employee at John Good Group plays a crucial role in helping us to achieve incredible things, reach new milestones and set ambitious goals for the future. That’s why we recognise employee journeys and accomplishments in multiple ways, from Long Service Awards to our Living the

Rather than simply handing out these rewards during the working day, we make an event of it so that everyone can come together and hear about each other’s successes. From regular socials and team building days to our two annual company-wide events in summer and at Christmas, there’s always cause for celebration at John Good Group.

This section looks at how we put people first, including our employees and their families, through wellbeing initiatives,

The John Good Group Employee Giving Programme fuels our passion to deliver social impact and gives our people the rewarding experience of engaging directly with the charities they support. This is delivered in multiple ways, whether that’s through volunteering days and pro-bono work, to nominating small charities and projects to receive a Champion Grant.

388.5 Volunteering Hours Delivered

Now in its third year of empowering our people to make a difference in their communities, our volunteering programme is achieving amazing things.

In 2024, our employees surpassed the target of 350 hours, which is a 75% year-on-year increase. When you add on pro bono work, the total grows by another 100.5 hours, reaching an incredible 489 hours of voluntary work delivered by John Good Group.

Champion Grants

£51,229 60 Organisations

Employees can nominate small charities and projects in their local community to receive grants of up to £1,000

£2,423 15 Organisations

Employee’s personal donations are matched, so every £1 donated becomes £2 donated.

We’re proud to say that 90% of our employees got involved in at least one volunteering programme in 2024. As a result, an incredible £72,789 was raised through Employee Giving.

Double Match

£16,137 10 Organisations

Employees fundraising efforts are double matched when they fundraise for charity, so every £1 raised becomes £3 raised.

Monthly Draw

£3,000 11 Organisations

Every month, employees are entered into a draw, with the winners receiving a £250 donation to their charity of choice.

2024 Total £72,789

WAS RAISED THROUGH EMPLOYEE GIVING

Volunteering goes much further than financial donations, as we also encourage our employees to get involved in pro bono work. This gives them the opportunity to share their knowledge, skills and time with charitable organisations.

Whilst the charity receives relevant and valuable support, the employee engages in a fulfilling activity that makes an enormous difference on an operational level. For instance, the pro bono work could focus on strategy, HR, marketing, community outreach, or any other area that is tailored to both the charity and our people.

Rachel Lowe, our Chief People Officer, deepened her relationship with the charity she supported through the Employee Giving Programme. After selecting Hidden Disabilities, she went on to become a trustee in 2024, offering strategic input and HR expertise to help the organisation grow its reach and impact.

Meanwhile, CEO Adam Walsh partnered with the Matthew Good Foundation to explore how the Group could support outdoor learning for children in Hull.

Through the Foundation’s relationships with Yorkshire Wildlife Trust and Hull & East Yorkshire Children’s University, they helped organise nine school trips to Spurn Point in 2023 and 2024, worth over £7,000, reaching around 270 pupils across schools including Bilton, Longhill, St Mary’s, Rokeby, and Adelaide Primary.

Leadership donations

Our leadership teams are passionate about providing employees with a wide range of exciting opportunities to support worthy causes. However, their contribution doesn’t end there, as they also get involved themselves. From marathons and cycling challenges to advocacy and pro bono consultancy, find out how our leaders made a difference to their communities in 2024.

Personal donations

Our employees take personal action to support causes that are close to their hearts. This can be in the form of fundraising, hands-on challenges or making donations themselves.

In 2024, Adam Walsh and Rich Quelch battled the wind and rain and completed the Bridge2Bridge cycling challenge. Along with a team of riders, they cycled 212 miles from the Severn Bridge to the Humber Bridge in just two days. Their efforts raised an incredible £20,000 for charity and were recognised by the Princess Royal.

A wide range of activities took place in 2024, with our leadership and employees collectively raising or personally donating a total of £15,540.60. The Group then added a further £4,890, bringing the total personal fundraising, donating and matching total to £20,430.60

Our employees also support the Matthew Good Foundation with their expertise:

People & Planet Champions

Our People & Planet Champions programme is all about empowering our employees to drive positive change.

Here’s a look at what our Champions do:

Since launching in September 2024, this passionate group of colleagues has come together every quarter to help shape and inspire our culture and sustainability ambitions. Spotlight Grants for Good: They carefully review and nominate the causes we support, then rally our people to vote on the projects that matter most.

Boost green initiatives:

From energy-saving tips to zero-waste challenges, they spread the word and keep everyone engaged in our eco-friendly efforts.

Create engaging events:

Whether it’s a wellbeing workshop or a community clean-up, they design activities that connect us back to our core People & Planet priorities.

Amplify employee feedback:

As a vital two-way channel, they listen, gather ideas and help us continually refine our approach, making sure that every voice is heard.

Thanks to their enthusiasm and dedication, our People & Planet Champions are at the heart of John Good Group’s values.

Chloe
YuLife

gives our employees access to 24/7 virtual GP consultations and mental health support.

The YuLife app also runs wellbeing challenges for our employees and their family members. The step challenge comes with a leaderboard that has turned into a healthy bit of competition across the company, inspiring our team members to get their steps in throughout the day. When it’s time to unwind, the app has fun “YuDoku” puzzles and our employees can try to beat each other’s times.

Completely free access to 24/7 virtual GPs, mental health support and wellbeing challenges is also available to employees and their family members via the YuLife app. To ensure suitable estate planning, employees are also given the opportunity to write a will for free if they don’t already have one, which offers even greater peace of mind to them and their families.

YuLife has a unique and impactful format, as employee activities such as walks, cycling, workouts, meditation and brain training are logged in the app, which then convert into positive activity carried out elsewhere in the world. This further incentivises wellbeing, as personal improvement directly equates to global change.

I use this app regularly, it keeps me moving, and the daily challenges are great. With a sit-down job, it helps me stretch my legs, get some fresh air, and clear my head before tackling my next task. The points I’ve earned have let me support charities I wouldn’t usually donate to, and I’ve also used them to buy vouchers for birthdays or Christmas.

Thanks to incredible engagement by our employees, YuLife has powered some truly inspiring change:

748 trees planted, removing approximately 41,140 tonnes of CO2 from our atmosphere.

66kg of plastic has been removed from the oceans, helping marine life to thrive.

159,000 litres of clean drinking water provided.

338 meals donated to those in need, nourishing communities near and far.

Plus, our people are walking the talk!

An impressive 55% of coin redemptions go towards ESG and impact-focused rewards.

Health Shield

John Good Group take employee feedback very seriously. One major action was the upgrade to the Health Shield Health Cash Plan, offering broader and more flexible cover for both routine care and evolving needs.

The plan now covers all of the following:

• Dental care and optical care for everyday health essentials

• Hot stone massages and teeth whitening treatments for a little extra self-care

Holistic health support to help you stay balanced

• Expanded cover for children, so that your whole family is protected

• A comprehensive Employee Assistance Programme for confidential guidance when you need it

On top of that, we’ve launched a trial of the Lifestage Health Cash Plan, designed to fill the gaps in traditional cover with targeted support at every life stage:

Menopause guidance and treatments

• Fertility support options

Ensuring our employees and their families are always in the best of health, we are always looking for the best options for them to ensure that they we are continually supporting them and have their health and wellbeing at the heart of it.

Professional & Personal Development

In September 2024, we introduced Growing Together. This is a new employee performance cycle that’s designed to encourage regular and meaningful one-to-one conversations between employees and their line managers.

Co-created with the leaders and managers of the business, this approach ensures every colleague benefits from ongoing support, clear guidance and tailored development opportunities to thrive in their role.

Building on this momentum, December 2024 saw the launch of our online Learning Platform. Through this easy-to-navigate portal, employees can explore:

• Mandatory training on vital topics such as menopause, neurodiversity and andropause

• A diverse library of professional development courses spanning leadership, communication and technical skills

• Quarterly content releases that keep learning fresh, relevant and aligned with our business priorities

By combining consistent coaching conversations with accessible and engaging e-learning, we’re equipping everyone at John Good Group with the tools and insights they need for both career growth and personal enrichment.

Regular 1-1s have increased by 15% since the launch

PeopleFirst

January 2024 saw John Good Group roll out PeopleFirst, our new HR system and central hub for everything you need at work. From payroll and absence management to holiday booking and sickness reporting, PeopleFirst brings it all together. The system also offers internal news, e-learning access and a space for sharing kudos, adding to its engaging and positive nature.

By streamlining everyday tasks and placing key information at your fingertips, PeopleFirst helps employees to manage their work-life balance with ease. It also keeps everyone better connected by making communication and collaboration across the business more seamless than ever.

To build on this sense of community, in July 2024 we introduced Cheers from Peers within the PeopleFirst platform. This gives our people the opportunity to quickly recognise great work, say thank you for a helping hand and celebrate team wins. This helps us to turn appreciation into an everyday habit across John Good Group.

Employee Pulse Surveys

In September 2024, we launched Your Voice, our quarterly pulse survey designed to collect anonymous feedback from across the business. By checking in regularly on how everyone is feeling both personally and professionally, we gain real-time insights into what’s working well and where we can improve.

The first survey achieved an impressive 81% participation rate, and 87% of respondents said they would recommend John Good Group as a great place to work. These results have directly influenced our operational plans, helping us to prioritise the initiatives that matter most to our people.

With Your Voice at the heart of our decision-making, we’re dedicated to nurturing an environment where every individual feels heard, valued and empowered to thrive.

In 2024, we celebrated two fantastic prize winners as part of our Living the Dream programme:

Yarwood was the star of our summer BBQ raffle, winning a trip to the enchanting Festival of Light in Bali.

Tracey Keenan Smith took home the top prize at the Christmas Party, jetting off to witness the Northern Lights in Iceland.

We’re thrilled to reward colleagues for their dedication and create memorable experiences that inspire everyone to dream big.

Our Commitment to Carbon Neutrality

As a 192-year-old family business, John Good Group has continually evolved with the world around us. As part of this ethos, sustainability sits firmly at the heart of everything we do.

In 2023, we celebrated the milestone of operational carbon neutrality for all our legacy companies (John Good & Sons, Good Travel Management, Dan Shipping & Chartering, TEPS, and Bay Shipping), based on 2022 emissions.

When CT Travel Group (including CT Business Travel, CT Trade Missions, CT Groups Conferences & Incentive, Pettitts Travel & AG Rivers), Nothing But Ltd and Arthur Smith (Grimsby) Ltd joined the Group throughout 2024, we measured each company’s full 12-month carbon footprint. Now, we’re proud to confirm that every part of John Good Group, old and new alike, is operationally carbon neutral.

From installing renewable energy and expanding our electric vehicle fleet to optimising our supply chains and supporting low-carbon commuting options, our carbon reduction programmes inform daily decisions across the Group. Together, we’re leading by example and proving that a planet-first approach can go hand in hand with business growth.

Last year, the Chairman of the Matthew Good Foundation, Tim Good, made a powerful contribution to runner safety and public health through the launch of the Race Ready app. This a free tool offering expert medical advice to endurance runners across the world.

Launched in June 2024, Race Ready was developed by the Matthew Good Foundation in partnership with leading sports medicine professionals and backed by World Athletics. The app is designed to reduce risk and save lives by giving runners the knowledge they need to train and compete safely.

For Tim, this project is deeply personal. His brother Matthew tragically passed away during the Humber Half Marathon in 2011 whilst raising money for charity. He was young, fit and full of life, with no known health issues. His sudden death exposed the hidden dangers of endurance running and inspired Tim and his family to take action.

“Race Ready is not just an app,” says Tim. “It’s a continuation of Matt’s legacy. Our foundation’s involvement in race medicine has always been about making a real difference, and this app is a testament to that. It’s a way to honour Matthew by ensuring that runners everywhere have the tools they need to stay safe and healthy, and I believe he would be proud of what we’ve achieved.”

Tim’s Social

Impact

The app offers a range of safety-focused features, including:

· Independent medical advice from leading experts

· Gamified learning tools to help users understand risks

· Personalised tips on nutrition, hydration and injury prevention

· Real-time weather alerts to adapt training and race-day plans

Built on years of research and collaboration, including the Foundation’s role in helping to establish the International Institute of Race Medicine, now part of the World Academy for Endurance Medicine, Race Ready marks a new chapter in the Foundation’s work.

“Running has huge benefits,” Tim adds, “but it can also come with serious risks like heat stroke and low sodium levels.

Race Ready gives runners the information they need to make safer decisions and avoid preventable harm.”

Race Ready is free to download and accessible to all runners, from beginners to elite athletes. It stands as both a practical resource and a lasting tribute to Matthew’s memory, helping others enjoy the sport he loved whilst staying safe and informed.

Sustainable Development Goals

The United Nations’ Sustainable Development Goals (SDG) are a collection of interlinked objectives designed to serve as a “shared blueprint for peace and prosperity for people and the planet, now and into the future”.

We place these objectives at the core of every action, both internally and on behalf of our clients, this helps to make the world a fairer, healthier and greener place today and for generations yet to come.

Each decision we make has these SDGs at its core. From measuring and reducing our carbon emissions to integrating sustainability throughout our working environments, this section explores how John Good Group prioritises local communities and the global environment.

FY23/FY24 Measurement

At John Good Group, our environmental reporting is driven by a commitment to transparency, accountability, and the belief that progress matters more than perfection.

Though we’re not legally required to report under the UK’s Streamlined Energy and Carbon Reporting (SECR) framework, we choose to go further by voluntarily measuring and publishing our Scope 1, Scope 2, and operationally controllable Scope 3 emissions every year.

This gives us a clear picture of where we are, where we’re making strides, and where more work is needed.

Understanding the impact of growth

In FY2024, the Group grew significantly with the acquisitions of CT Travel Group, Nothing But Ltd, and Arthur Smith (Grimsby) Ltd. Whilst this expansion naturally led to an increase in our overall carbon footprint, it also brought valuable benefits, including improved data accuracy, broader awareness, and the opportunity to embed more sustainable practices across a wider business footprint.

To fairly track our progress, this year’s carbon data is presented in two ways:

• A like-for-like comparison between FY2023 and FY2024, focusing on businesses that were part of the Group in both years.

• Full Group emissions for FY2024, covering all businesses under operational control as of year-end.

We’ve also adjusted financial figures for inflation to make the comparisons more meaningful. This allows us to assess true changes in emissions efficiency based on real improvements, not just the effects of rising prices.

Like-for-Like Progress

To track genuine operational performance, we’ve compared the same core businesses across both years: Bay Shipping, Dan Shipping, Good Travel Management, TEPS, and John Good & Sons. This approach helps us to isolate progress made through better processes, smarter energy use and a growing culture of sustainability, rather than changes driven by acquisitions or external factors.

Footprint

In 2024, we reported full-year carbon emissions across Scope 1, Scope 2, and operationally controllable Scope 3 emissions for each part of our business.

With the Group now expanded to include eight trading companies, our carbon footprint reflects this broader reach. The 2024 figures include data from our newly acquired businesses:

Although these businesses joined the Group at various stages throughout 2024, their emissions have been calculated on a full-year basis to give a consistent and accurate picture of our environmental impact, now and for future comparison.

One-Off Emissions Disclosure

Capital goods were significantly higher in 2024, this was due to projects that reflect our commitment to investing in future-ready, energy-efficient infrastructure.

Intensity Ratios

Despite higher total emissions resulting from expansion, our emissions intensity ratios have improved significantly, indicating that we’re growing in a more sustainable manner.

Revenue-based emissions decreased by 47%, and employee-based emissions by 24%, reflecting smarter operations, investment in greener energy, and thoughtful resource use across the Group.

Quarry House is now home to Good Travel Management, Dan Shipping & Chartering, and John Good & Sons. Meanwhile, TEPS’ new facility is solar-powered and repurposes materials from across the Group, further reinforcing our reusefirst approach.

Both sites have been thoughtfully designed with sustainability in mind. Every element, from materials and energy use to layout and landscaping, was carefully considered during the design and build stages. As a result, they naturally support the minimisation of our environmental impact on a daily basis.

Carbon

Removals and Offsets

In 2024, we continued to act on our climate responsibilities by offsetting 110% of our operationally controllable carbon footprint, a commitment that reflects our long-term goal of leaving the planet in a better state than the one we inherited.

Working in partnership with Climate Impact Partners and Cur8, we invested in a carefully selected portfolio of verified carbon credits, covering both traditional offsets and next-generation

Whilst high-quality offsets still have an important role to play, particularly in supporting projects that avoid or reduce emissions at scale, we’ve also increased our focus on carbon reduction at source, a key ambition highlighted in our previous Impact Report. In 2024, 15.4% of our total credits purchased were true carbon removals, representing a meaningful step towards long-term atmospheric carbon reduction

SABAH RAINFOREST REHABILITATION

Through our collaboration with Cur8, we supported a range of innovative carbon removal solutions, including:

• Direct Air Capture (DAC): Using cutting-edge technology to extract CO2 directly from the atmosphere and store it securely underground.

• Enhanced weathering: Accelerating natural mineral processes that lock carbon into the earth for millennia.

• Biochar: Converting organic waste into stable carbon, which enriches soil whilst capturing and storing CO2 permanently.

• Reforestation: Planting and maintaining new forests designed for long-term carbon sequestration, not short-term offsets.

By diversifying the types of projects we support, we’re helping to build a carbon removal market that’s effective, scalable and futureproof. It’s not just about balancing our footprint, it’s about driving progress in the global transition to a low-carbon future.

This blended approach of avoidance, reduction and removal reflects our belief that climate responsibility isn’t an evolving journey that requires innovation, integrity and action.

Quarry House

In April 2024, we officially opened the doors to Quarry House – our new Head Office at Hesslewood Office Park. Purpose-built for performance, collaboration and sustainability, the building represents a major milestone in our Planet-first journey.

From the outset, sustainability shaped every decision. We adopted a reuse-first approach, repurposing existing materials and only sourcing new elements that were either local, UK-made, or certified as sustainable. Examples of this ethos in action include:

• A boardroom carpet made from recycled fishing nets

• Raised access flooring repurposed from a Canary Wharf office building

• Locally sourced furniture from Elite Office Furniture, just 20 miles away in Goole

The same care extends to the exterior. Solar panels now power the building, and EV chargers support our fully electric and hybrid company car fleet — reflecting our long-term commitment to reducing operational emissions.

Our sustainable sourcing strategy also reduces embedded carbon and supports the regional economy. When local suppliers weren’t available, we chose the next most environmentally responsible alternative, ensuring no compromises were made on ethics or quality.

Quarry House opened in the same month we reaffirmed our status as an operationally carbon neutral Group, reinforcing the link between our spaces, our values and our actions.

More than just a workplace, Quarry House has been designed to inspire, enable and grow. It brings together our John Good & Sons, Good Travel Management, and Dan Shipping teams, alongside FEO and The Sailors’ Children’s Society, creating a hub for collaboration, innovation and community.

From the solar panels on the roof to the sustainably sourced materials inside, Quarry House stands as a physical symbol of our ambition to do business in a way that’s good for people, planet and performance.

TEPS’ New Sustainable Facility

In Spring 2024, TEPS moved into its brand-new warehouse and office facility, a major investment in regional infrastructure, built with sustainability at its core.

The 25,000 sq. ft warehouse and adjoining 1,900 sq. ft office block were designed not just for scale and efficiency, but to reflect TEPS’s deepening commitment to environmental responsibility. As part of the operationally carbon neutral John Good Group, every decision was made with the planet in mind.

Wherever possible, materials were repurposed from elsewhere within the Group, significantly reducing waste and lowering the embodied carbon footprint of the build. Solar panels were installed to generate clean energy onsite, and the integration of the office into the warehouse structure helped minimise overall land use and construction impact

Performance

Build a range of diversified income streams so that we can sustainably reinvest in businesses and our wider purpose.

Chairman’s statement for the year ended 31 December 2024

2024 has been a strong year for the John Good Group, despite operating in a challenging UK business environment. Our ability to deliver positive results amid rising costs and uncertainty is a testament to the resilience of our business model, the dedication of our teams, and our commitment to longterm growth.

We achieved solid organic growth, supported by strategic investments made in previous years, and expanded our portfolio through key acquisitions. Notably, we acquired Nothing But Ltd (trading as Padlocks.co.uk), which strengthened our e-commerce capabilities and diversified our income streams. We also merged Good Travel Management with CT Travel Group, doubling the size of our travel division and forming an £85 million turnover business. This move also marked our return to the leisure travel sector, where our history spans more than a century.

In maritime, we welcomed Arthur Smith (Grimsby) Ltd, a respected shipping services provider since 1936. This acquisition broadened our port operations and opened the door to new offshore and renewables opportunities. We were also proud to win the Innovative Technology Award at the IBJ Awards, further cementing our leadership in this space.

Across the Group, our purpose-led approach continues to gain recognition. We were shortlisted for multiple HEY Business Awards, and by Lloyds Bank for a business putting purpose before profit. These accolades highlight the strength of our teams and our commitment to doing business the right way.

That commitment extends to our communities. From supporting the Wheelchair Football Association Cup to advancing safety through the Matthew Good Foundation, we continue to make a positive impact beyond profit.

Looking ahead, recent tax changes, including increased employer NICs and reduced BPR reliefs, will present new challenges. But with strong financial foundations, a diverse portfolio, and a clear purpose, we are well positioned to navigate what’s next.

Thank you to our employees, customers, partners and stakeholders for your continued support. Together, we will continue to build a business that leads with integrity, resilience and ambition.

Performance Through People

Throughout 2024, we’ve shone a spotlight on the talented individuals whose dedication drives our success. From industry accolades to national recognition, our people’s exceptional skill and passion has been rewarded multiple times.

We were proud to celebrate five major award wins:

Sarah Walton Business Development Manager of the Year at the Business Travel People Awards

Recipient of the Judges’ Award at the Women in Business Hull Awards

Chloe Lawson

Awarded Rising Star at the Hull & East Yorkshire Business Awards

Steve Pullen

Winner of the Publisher’s Choice at the IBJ Awards

October brought another milestone, as John Good Group was ranked among the UK’s Top 20 Family Business Apprentice Employers for 2024. This was a very proud moment for us, as it reflects our commitment to nurturing new talent and building lasting careers across every area of the business.

These awards and accolades reflect a culture where achievement and recognition go hand in hand. The proof is in our performance, as we delivered 49% turnover growth (excluding newly acquired businesses) in 2024. This clearly shows just how far our empowered teams can take us.

Growth

is a Group Effort

2024 was a landmark year for John Good Group as we welcomed three established businesses, each bringing new expertise and strengthening our capabilities:

Having joined in May under DAN Shipping & Chartering, Arthur Smith expands our presence in Grimsby and Immingham and paves the way into the offshore sector. Established in 1936 and family-run across five generations, Arthur Smith’s David and James Smith (4th generation) and Lucy Smith (5th generation) now become part of John Good Group’s sixth-generation family legacy.

In October, CT Travel Group (comprising CT Business Travel, CT Trade Missions, CT Groups Conferences & Incentive, Pettitts Travel & AG Rivers) joined our Travel Division. With over 30 years of experience in corporate travel, events and leisure, CT Travel now works side-by-side with Good Travel Management’s leadership teams to build a more dynamic and customer-focused travel business.

Also in October, we entered the e-commerce arena by acquiring Padlocks. co.uk, a Liverpool-based specialist supplying security solutions to the NHS, Harrods, Network Rail and thousands of other customers. Now part of our Services Division, Padlocks.co.uk is being led by our Chief Marketing Officer, Rich Quelch, in his additional role as Managing Director.

2024 delivered exceptional growth for Good Travel Management, driven by strategic investment in sales, marketing and operations:

Turnover surged from £25.3 million in 2023 to £46.1 million in 2024, an 82% increase.

Following our rebrand and the launch of our new website in 2023, we saw a 107% increase in organic website sessions in 2024.

We forged a new partnership with Family Business United, co-creating initiatives to better serve the SME family business sector and aligning with our values of legacy, care and long-term thinking.

THE MARITIME DIVISION

Building on a year of alignment and brand development, Bay Shipping achieved record performance in 2024. This was fuelled by innovation and teamwork, including these key events:

• In November, the division won the Innovative Technology Award at the IBJ Awards in Antwerp for implementing Gatship, a transformative port-call software.

• On the same night, Steve Pullen received the Publisher’s Award, recognising his enduring contribution to the maritime industry.

Truly passionate about the maritime sector, our Cardiff, Immingham, Grimsby and Humber teams continue to deliver high-quality, forwardthinking solutions across the UK.

2024 marked a major milestone for TEPS with the move into a brand-new facility.

The purpose-built 25,000 sq ft warehouse and 1,900 sq ft office space are now fully operational, expanding capacity to almost 200,000 sq ft and providing ample space for 5,000 pallets.

This upgraded facility cements TEPS’s position as a leader in UK warehousing and logistics, enabling faster and more efficient service for a growing client base. As a result, TEPS is very much setting the new standard in supply chain support.

April 2024 was an exciting month, as John Good Group moved into Quarry House. This expertly designed and fully sustainable head office revolves around collaboration and performance, making it a truly inspiring place to work.

Now home to John Good & Sons, Good Travel Management, Dan Shipping & Chartering, For Entrepreneurs Only and The Sailors’ Children’s Society, Quarry House is a place where ideas are shared and impactful change is delivered across multiple sectors, local communities, and indeed the planet.

Across the Group, we continued to invest in people and platforms. A key example is our PeopleFirst system, which has enhanced communication, learning and collaboration across the business. Meanwhile, Long Service Awards and Living the Dream prizes keep teams motivated and recognise their exceptional achievements.

In addition to these accomplishments, John Good Group also saw the following take place in 2024:

We were:

• We extended our Wheelchair Football Association Cup sponsorship through to 2026, reinforcing our commitment to inclusion and wellbeing.

• We partnered with the region-wide Mischief of Rats art trail in support of the Daisy Appeal, raising funds for early diagnosis of cancer, heart disease and dementia.

• Externally, we were finalists at the Lloyds Bank Business Excellence Awards for Purpose Before Profit and shortlisted for the Environmental & Sustainability Award at the Hull and East Yorkshire Business Awards.

When combined with our 49% turnover growth in

Governance

Strong governance is the foundation of our business. It shapes how we make decisions, manage data, and ensure ethical practices across our expanding portfolio. As we grow, maintaining high standards of trust, transparency and accountability remains essential to our long-term resilience, and to earning the continued confidence of our stakeholders.

In 2024, we concentrated our governance efforts on preparing for formal accreditation in three key areas:

• ISO 9001 (Quality Management)

• ISO 27001 (Information Security)

ISO 45001 (Occupational Health & Safety)

These globally recognised standards reflect our commitment to running safe, secure and high-performing businesses. Each one brings structure and clarity to how we operate, helping us meet the rising expectations of customers, partners and regulators alike.

We’re aiming to complete certification across all three standards in 2025 with structured implementation programmes already well underway across the Group. This represents a significant step in aligning our operationa practices with our purpose-driven values. As we continue to scale, we do so with care, consistency, and a deep sense of responsibility.

Also in 2024, we also undertook our first independent sustainability assessment through EcoVadis, a globally recognised platform that evaluates environmental, social and ethical performance across supply chains. We were pleased to achieve a Bronze Medal with a score of 61 out of 100, placing John Good Group in the top 26% of companies assessed worldwide.

This result reflects the strength of our early progress in areas such as environmental impact, labour practices, ethics and sustainable procurement. It also provides a clear benchmark for future improvements as we continue to align sustainability with every aspect of our operations.
