The HIFF Team is very excited to connect with you again to celebrate FILMMAKING, ART, & MUSIC for the next five days in beautiful Northern Colorado. Our meticulously curated lineup of entertainment has been crafted to raise the bar in terms of what you hope and expected to experience at a film festival. HIFF is here to offer an inclusive environment for all creative voices and a stage for our art and self-expression. We are here to provide our community with an opportunity to discover and learn from what happens beyond our bubble, while providing a platform to share with the rest of the world the talent within it. At our 3rd Annual Festival, we return to familiar host venues including The Holiday Twin Drive-In and The Lyric Cinema, and we are excited to resurrect from our Inaugural Season the Black Tie Gala at The Fort Collins Museum of Discovery. In addition, The Magic Rat at The Elizabeth Hotel will host a Surprise Screening with celebrity guest, Greg Sestero. Whether you spend a day or two with us, or join us for the whole festival, we appreciate you in supporting creative voices from around Colorado and the rest of the world. Thank you!

CURATORS’ COLLECTION SPACE: A SKATE ODYSSEY Selected by John Hunt “This Extreme Sports/Experimental Short blew me away with its hybrid 60’s and 90’s nostalgia, masterful effects treatment, and raw storytelling skills. I was simultaneously driven to reimagine new approaches to my own filmmaking projects, travel back in time to the skate park days, and search my attic to see if I still own a copy of Tony Hawk.”
VESSEL Selected by Jesse Nyander “Vessel pulls you in with its textures and colors. The visual storytelling in this short screams louder than any words could have. With visual vibes of the likes of Panos Cosmotos, and music videos from the late teens. The first of a series, I honestly can’t wait to see what this filmmaking team does next. Well done!”
TRANSIET 3 Selected by Katrina Pfannkuch “This short showcases the power and beauty of nature in a way that we rarely get to experience. The cinematography is amazing, while the pacing and background music make the film a completely immersive, individual experience. As a viewer I was pulled fully into the present moment - all courtesy of mother nature doing her own wild thing. It was inspiring to watch and a creative call to the adventurous at heart. Loved it!”
THE LEGEND OF TOMMY G Selected by Taylor Strope “I love this film because not only is it incredibly well done, the cinematography and sound design were incredible. I absolutely love any sort of adventure sports film but this one stood out to me because I thought it was hilarious, and to me speaks about who we are and what we do at HIFF.”

BROMANCE Selected by Alexander Stephens “Bromance is a piece of cinematic magic! I feel like we all have these types of relationships in life and this film just perfectly sums up the overreactions we sometimes go through in life. The acting, movements, cinematography and music all come together in a perfect recipe and this is why Bromance is my choice for our Curators collection.”
SEOULSORI Selected by Blue Stephens “I’ve always been a huge fan of films that can convey an interesting story without words. To me it’s the epitome of our craft. From the first frame to the last, Seoulsori is mesmerizing. It’s one of those films you can’t tear your eyes from. The animation is so gorgeous in it’s minimalism, often using only a single color and character for frames. It’s a gorgeous film, beautifully animated that I’ve played on a loop since its submission.”

Russick Smith
DJ Jimeni
TwoScoops
Nationally recognized for his adventurous performances in non-traditional environments, Russick Smith is a cellist and multiinstrumentalist whose music may be best defined as ‘campfire classical’. Lauded by Governor Jared Polis as “uniquely Colorado,” his compositions conjure images of forest amphitheaters and roasting marshmallows in the concert hall.
A nearly 20 year veteran of DJing and performing, expect a bit of the familiar and bit of the underground when Jimeni is on the turntables. Residing in Fort Collins, Colorado, Jimeni can be heard in venues around Colorado and the west. Big bass, catchy synths and technical scratches will be in every set as this turntablist moves from record to record.
Fort Collins resident, TwoScoops, has been rocking parties across the front range for over 10 years. His high energy sets combine old and new school flavors, all served up on two turntables. Expect a musical journey through genres, tempo and sound and don’t forget to dance!
DEBR4H
VYNYL
Amy Morgan
DEBR4H is a new wave/synth pop band based in Fort Collins, CO formed in 2018. Formerly performing under the name futurebabes, Jed Murphy gigged all the local venues in Colorado developing a unique synth pop sound influenced by The Human League, The Killers, Future Islands, Kate Bush, and Bruce Springsteen to name a few. K
VYNYL makes music for the underdogs. The chameleonic pop rock band knows more than most what it means to rise to the occasion when the odds are stacked against them. Coming from homelessness and seeking a larger purposE, lead singer John Tyler alongside Andrew Cole founded VYNYL in 2015 as a means to escape their circumstances.
Combining classical elements with modern techniques and melodies, Amy M. Morgan brings a unique voice and soulfulness to the cello. Amy is a modern cellist based out of Fort Collins, CO and is the electric cellist of the indie rock group Post Paradise. Passionate about teaching cello, she often performs with her advanced students to create a unique set of classical and contemporary songs.
missTree
massTree
The Spencer Zweifel Trio
One of 10 DJs in Household Collective, missTree gets the party vibes going with dance music mixed with a smokey eye, lipstick, and a splash of tequila. Playing Deep House, Proper House, Disco, Bass House, Tech House, and Techno.
The consummate wild card, you never know what you are going to get from a massTree set. Is it going to be funky deep house, booty shaking disco, deep dark techno, an out of left field Drum and Bass set? Who knows, just buckle in for a good time!
The Spencer Zweifel Trio is a dynamic jazz ensemble that combines strong individual playing into a cohesive group sound. Inspired by the classic bands led by Bill Evans, Horace Silver, Chick Corea and Oscar Peterson, Zweifel’s ensemble draws from all corners of the jazz world. Swing, hard bop, free music, and the Great American Songbook come together for an exciting and fresh musical experience.
Retrofette Retrofette knows that we’re all going through a thing right now, and thinks you should dance about it. Struggles with depression, dread, and anxiety are as much in their DNA as Grace Jones, Memphis Milano, synthesizers, and turtlenecks. The band’s recognition of the darkness in the world, and their unrelenting optimism in its face, is what has endeared their danceable synthpop to audiences in their hometown and around the world.
Haralson Four
Cactus Cat
Haralson Four was formed in Fort Collins, CO in the depths of Quarantine 2020 using only Cragilst and boredom. From there emerged a group playing a blend of psychedelicsurf/prog rock mixed with fux, jazz, and jam elements. The sound is thoughtful yet danceable. It’s an all inclusive project and all voices are heard to make a unique, collaborative sound.
Cactus Cat is a mellow, weaving, surftinged, psychedelic ride. Featuring lush vocals, dreamy guitar, a tight rhythm section, and helmed by an unhinged pedal-heavy saxophonist who frequently picks up an electric ukulele, expect danceable grooves, instrumental adventures, and thoughtful lyrics.
