KNOW THE RULES OF THE BEACH South Walton’s beaches are beautiful, scenic and refreshing — and to keep them that way, we must respect our fellow visitors and the natural environment by following beach ordinances and state statutes. BEACH RULES Glass containers and littering are prohibited

Items left on beach overnight will be discarded

Vehicles, dogs, and bonfires require permits*

Removal of sand, water or vegetation from the beach is strictly prohibited

HELP PROTECT NESTING SEA TURTLES From May through October, our beaches are precious nesting grounds for sea turtles. Sea turtles need us to keep the beaches #CleanDarkFlat. Here’s how to help protect these species: • Prevent all lights from illuminating the beach. • Look but don’t touch. Disturbing is a federal and state violation. • Don’t leave holes in the sand. • Keep the beach clean.
