What to expect when we’re working on your home

What to expect when we’re working on your home Before work begins

Arranging the work

• One of our surveyors should have visited you at your home and agreed the work will take place.

We have confirmed what work will take place in your home, and will let you know the exact date that work will start. In the unlikely event that the start date will be delayed, we will contact you as soon as possible to arrange a new, convenient date.

• The surveyor will have explained the choices we can offer you – depending on what work is taking place these choices could include floor coverings, kitchen units etc. • In some cases, we will have offered you a decoration allowance. You can find details and current allowances on the Viridian website.

How can you prepare? Before work can begin please ensure that you have moved all fragile items, furniture and electrical goods from the rooms where work will take place. We may be able to assist you with larger items – if you have any questions please contact us using the details at the end of this factsheet.

After the work is complete • We will leave the area where we have worked clean and tidy, with any work surfaces cleared of dust. • Our technicians will explain how to use and enjoy your new facilities.

During work • Our technicians all have identity cards, and will explain the sequence of works to you. • Working days are between 8am and 5pm, though we can offer some flexibility with start and finishing times. • The technicians will also explain what arrangements there will be about your water supply, cooking facilities and toilet facilities during the work. • Your surveyor may visit you during the works but if you have any questions at any time, please contact us and we will be happy to help.

• Your surveyor will also inspect the work to confirm that the work meets the high standards we expect.

Stay safe • We operate a safe area of work system. Our technicians will explain and agree the safe area in which they need to carry out work on a daily basis as it may change from day to day. Please discuss with your technician before entering this area. • No unattended tools or equipment will be left outside this area. • Your furniture, flooring and door openings will be protected by dust sheets. Please leave these in place until removed by our technicians.
