3 WEEKS LEFT! Volunteered this summer? Be sure to email hours to our secretary, Carly Starke, and get credit for the upcoming semester! jmucki.secretary@gmail .com
Club meetings will resume in early September every Monday at 7pm in Taylor 404.
A message from CKI Secretary Carly Starke Hello CKI! Hope you are all enjoying your summer and vacations. I am excited to be continuing the role of secretary this upcoming service year and look forward to working with all of our current and new members. We will be continuing to use our point system in which each member is required to perform 10 hours of service and those who complete more than what is required will be rewarded. We have some great events planned to fundraise for the Eliminate project and to promote different projects each month. I am especially excited to teach a Zumbathon! Stay tuned for more information!
Know any Key Club graduates? Have any friends looking to get involved in service? Talk to them about the benefits of Circle K International and the possibility of joining JMU’s CKI this upcoming fall. We look forward to seeing everyone in the fall and keep on the lookout for our first few projects. Enjoy the rest of your summer!

A message from our Lieutenant Governor, Caitlin Francis Hey JMU CKI! My name is Caitlin Francis and I am a rising senior at JMU. I have been involved with CKI for three years, and this year I am serving as our division’s Lieutenant Governor. I serve as a liaison between the district board and the four clubs in the Presidential Division: JMU, UVA, MBC, and SU. I’m still kind of figuring my new position out but I’m very excited to serve as a leader on the district level. If you have any questions about my position, please don’t hesitate to contact me. So far, I have been busy with learning how to be an effective LTG through DOTC (District Officer Training Conference) and getting to know the rest of our District Board at board meetings. We have been really busy with planning for our major events in the fall semester, especially Fall Membership Rally (FMR). This will be a fantastic opportunity for you to meet CKIers from around the Capital District and learn more about the Kiwanis family. It is going to be a lot of fun. The theme for this year is Mario Kart, and there are a lot of people working hard to make the event as amazing as possible. Mark your calendars for September 27th-28thbecause you won’t want to miss FMR!

Don't forget that we will start our Big/Little program at the start of next year! It is a really good opportunity to inspire younger new members. If you are interested in becoming a Big and would like some more information about what it would entail, please email Catie Mathers, our Fellowship VP, at jmucki.fellowshipvp@gmail.com. As a board, we have come up with themes to focus our attention on each month. The list includes: September - Kids October - Elderly/Mental Illness November - The Hungry January - Homeless February - Eliminate March - Babies :) For our Eliminate Project, we are planning on hosting a ZUMBA-THON and a Valentine's Day Dance.
