“During my freshman year at Sacred Heart, I talked to my mother about how little SHA had compared to St. X, where my brothers had gone. She replied that women don’t give to their schools. She said many get married, and they give to the man’s school, but not their own. Of course, I thought that was terrible and vowed to give to Sacred Heart when I finished school and got a good job. It took me a while, but eventually, I became a regular donor to the Annual Fund. I decided to include Sacred Heart in my estate planning as I don’t have any children, and this seemed like a good way to give to the next generation. I am so impressed with how the school has grown in the years since I graduated! There are classes and programs in place now that I never even dreamed of when I was a student there! I value education for women and hope that my contribution will make Sacred Heart Academy accessible to more young women who want an excellent academic experience.”
