Meet the Junior League of Charlotte Transfer Member of the Year, Anna Reilly

Where did you transfer from?

Birmingham, AL.

When was your Provisional year?

My Provisional year was in 2016-2017 in the Junior League of Birmingham.

What brought you to Charlotte?

I recently got married to my husband, Martin. Prior to marriage, we were long distance, as Martin’s career had brought him to Charlotte in 2020. We have really enjoyed getting to know a new city and all the exploring everything Charlotte has to offer.

Where were you born and raised?

I was born in New Haven, CT, but moved shortly thereafter. After spending several years in St. Louis, MO, my father’s job brought us to Marietta, GA. I lived in Marietta from fourth grade through highschool and consider it my hometown.

Where did you attend college?

I attended Rhodes College in Memphis, Tennessee where I majored in Psychology.

So how did you end up in Birmingham, AL?

After Rhodes, I attended law school at Samford University in Birmingham and graduated in 2015. What do you do for work? I work remotely for Cardinal Health out of Dublin, Ohio and am the Manager for Contracts Development and Process. I mainly draft and negotiate contracts on behalf of the company.

What do you like to do in Charlotte?

I really enjoy exploring all the city has to offer, spending time with friends, trying new restaurants and have really enjoyed participating in JLC events all around Charlotte.

What is your placement this year and what did you like best about it?

My placement this year is on the Learning and Development Committee. I found it to be a good placement for getting an introductory into the JLC. The Chair and Vice Chair did a good job adapting throughout the year and the Committee was able to adapt through the pandemic and still provide a service to members to connect, learn new things and gain new skills.
