“Well, I’m not really a drinker you know. I’m 76 now, and I’ve got problems with my liver but I’m not really a drinker. I like my beer, just a couple of pints at lunch time and two or three in the evening. I always have a cup of tea in the morning. I like it with a drop of whisky, but I don’t touch alcohol in the afternoon. I sometimes have a gin and tonic when I go to my daughter’s, but that’s ‘cause (because) they don’t touch beer, you know, they drink wine. I don’t like wine. I never touch it. As I say, I’m not really a drinker.

Luke, you get the butter and cheese and don’t forget the strawberry yoghurt for the kids. Luke: O.K. Listen, where’s the milk? Ann: It’s over there, near the butter, but don’t get milk. We’ve got four liters at home. Luke: Oh, O.K. Ann, what vegetables do we need? Ann: We don’t need any, but we do need sausages for the barbecue this evening. You get the sausages and I’ll get the bread. Luke: O.K. But what about the wine? We don’t have any red at home, you know Terry and June only drink red. Ann: That’s right. O.K. Get three bottles. Don’t worry about the white. We’re O.K. for white.
