REG ALERT
As of January 6, 2023, motor carriers must use the FMCSA’s Drug and Alcohol Clearinghouse to obtain information about a prospective CDL driver’s previous FMCSA-mandated drug or alcohol testing violations, in place of asking current/previous employers for that information. Employment verification and accident information must still be obtained, however, as well as information about any testing violations under other DOT modes besides FMCSA.
