Distinguished Guests, On behalf of the Multicultural Women Executive Leadership Foundation in partnership with the Dr. Yasmin Davidds Leadership Institute, USC Marshall School of Business, and the USC Latino Alumni Association, it is our honor to welcome you to the 10th Annual Scholarship and Awards Gala, “Living Our Legacy”. This Gala pays tribute to the 2022-2023 graduates of the Multicultural Women Executive Leadership Program (MWELP), as well as the decade of alumni who have passed through our programs, all of whom have dedicated themselves in assessing and cultivating the core fiber of their leadership identity.

Our programs are the first in the country to approach critical leadership and entrepreneurial skills from a genderbased, cultural, and global perspective by using Harvard’s highly acclaimed Authentic Leadership Program Framework. They are designed to bring together multicultural leaders and business owners meeting at the intersection of leading with humanity and succeeding in executive or entrepreneurial ventures, while addressing the unique barriers they face in growing as leaders. These programs are designed to provide deep guidance and mentorship for a select cohort to mobilize the transformation of professional leaders to executive ranks and help entrepreneurs scale their businesses. Through gender and culturally relevant educational strategies, they become influential change agents who align their organizations or their own business initiatives with social responsibility and community at the forefront.

These impressive graduates are rich in diversity as they come from different occupations and walks of life. Yet, they have come together under a common set of commitments: becoming better humans and better leaders. Through this unity of dedication to the betterment of themselves, they embarked on a journey of self-discovery. They immersed themselves in leadership and business diagnostics, lectures, interactive exercises, explored critical leadership skills, including negotiation effectiveness, power and relationships, social networks, persuasive communication, adaptive leadership, influencing across cultures and genders, and more. Therefore, our graduates are armed with the most effective strategies and tools for navigating complex management, leadership, and entrepreneurial issues. Today we honor their achievements, celebrate their success, and challenge them to become the leaders they are meant to be.

As an organization, our vision is to develop a pipeline of multicultural executive and entrepreneur leaders equipped to effectively operate anywhere in the world. With the ability to articulate a global encompassing vision that inspires others to work together in a gender-inclusive culture and maximize a triple bottom line: organizational profit, individual fulfilment, and societal enrichment. With each graduating class, we are one step closer to making our vision a reality.
