Natural Ventilation & Protection

The building features a pleasant breezeway on the west wing of the building, allowing breezes to flow into the courtyard area after light filtration by the two sentinel trees facing the walking bridge. The air is allowed into the building through various retractable doors that allow user control over how much airflow is entering the building. When either the exterior doors in front of the maker space or Peckish Cafe are ajar, there is the option to allow for cross ventilation by opening the doors on the east facade.

The exterior spaces along the tip of the finger rely heavily on the landscaping to filtrate the incoming breezes, in the render blow you are able to see the NE corner of this finger and the outdoor classroom area which is surrounded by trees to provide protection from both the wind and the strong summer sun.
