DESERT

On behalf of the Board of Directors of Jewish Family Service of the Desert (JFS), we welcome you to the seventh annual production of One Night Only, presented by the incomparable Michael Childers. Tonight, Michael presents “Tradition: The Jewish Legacy of Broadway” in a musical retrospective of the historical and contemporary influence of the Jewish Community on musical theater. At JFS, we provide a positive influence on both the local Jewish community and the community at large. Your support tonight will enable JFS to serve nearly 5,000 men, women and children this year, including 1,700 fifth graders who will benefit from our new drug resistance education program. Our clients depend on JFS for low cost mental health counseling, substance abuse treatment, senior care and transportation, emergency financial and food assistance, and in-school counseling for local children, among other services. We are truly blessed to have the support of some of the desert’s most extraordinary leaders: Annette Bloch, Helene Galen, Barbara Keller, Harold Matzner, Barbara Fromm, and Terri Ketover. Their vision, determination and guidance have been critical to the event’s remarkable and longstanding success. Of course, thank you to Michael. The light and joy you bring each year to the McCallum stage spreads far and wide, brightening the lives of the people we serve. We are extremely grateful to all the performers who have so unselfishly volunteered their time and their talents. Last, but certainly not least, to all the individuals who worked or volunteered behind the scenes, we offer our deepest appreciation and sincere gratitude. Warmest regards,

Carol Fragen
