Cross Selling As Funnel Marketing Cross selling of your funnel marketing is simply having a backend product related to what a customer has already purchased. It's basically the same as upsells where, for example, a customer buys one product, or is in the process of doing so, and you take them to an upsell page with an offer for an upgrade of the original product or a more expensive related product. This is based on the value the customer is or can receive


from you. They see all the benefits of the product for them, and the price. Keeping the same price and increasing the benefits means the value of the product for them increases. So with an upsell you have persuade them their benefits increase relative to the price, even though the price is higher than the original product. That is, the price of the upsell is higher but for that they are getting an even greater increase in benefits. A cross sell, or backend, product is similar. A customer has bought at least one product from you, and you've built a


relationship of trust with them. You place them on a specific list in order to do this. That list leads people through your funnel of products, usually least to more expensive, that are related to, or support, their original product or products. It could also be something in the same area of interest they've already shown.
