Your help was much more than a roof over our heads,” says Beth. “You gave me the courage to stay strong for my daughters and build the life we deserve.”
When Beth fled her abusive husband with her four children, they had only the clothes on their backs. A shelter connected Beth to JFCS’ Dream Program, which provided an emergency loan to rent an apartment and furnish their new home. JFCS’ Center for Children and Youth provided mental health support for the family, including specialized help for one child with learning differences. Today, Beth’s family is thriving—her teens are preparing for college with the help of JFCS scholarships and looking forward to achieving their goals.
I learned from therapy that grief does not really fade. It lives next to me as I work, drive, make dinner. Even when I laugh—and I am laughing again. I wanted you to know that.”
