Appreciation for our volunteers

Appreciation for our Volunteers

Anneleise Thompson | Adult Programs and Volunteer Manager

“The moments that we share our experiences in conversations help mitigate loneliness,” said Emile, a recipient of the Jessie Butler Meal Delivery program. “Volunteers make this a better world.” And we could not agree more.

April is volunteer appreciation month, so we would like to take a moment to thank all the incredible and selfless JCC

Cares volunteers who make so many Jewish Long Beach programs possible. In 2023, our volunteers spent over 1,000 cumulative hours prioritizing Tikkun Olam (healing the world).

In March and April, volunteers will have the opportunity to make special connections with seniors in our community through the Senior Holiday Outreach

program. This is a special tradition where volunteers visit homebound seniors with holiday treats for Purim and Passover. Email me to register to pack or deliver on the mornings of March 19 and April 18.

If you’re ready to give back and make a difference in our community, please reach out to me at athompson@alpertjcc.org

Do you know a homebound senior who would appreciate supplies to celebrate a Jewish Holiday? Email me to get them on our delivery list! Athompson@alpertjcc.org
