So Much is Happening in the Heart of New Jersey. The Jewish Federation in the Heart of New Jersey is connecting more people to programs, services, resources and activities that matter to them. It is connecting more people who need help with those who can help. And it is connecting Jews to each other as friends, colleagues, neighbors and fellow community members. Its impact is dramatic because of its reach within the Jewish community, its outreach to the wider community, its strong partnerships with religious, secular, and government leadership, and the value it brings to all those relationships. As a result, the Federation is the one organization in the heart of NJ that impacts more Jews and Jewish concerns locally and worldwide than any other. What follows is a very compact, and far from complete, sampling of activities, programs, and services that are part of what makes this community and this Federation so special. Each one represents an opportunity for you to get involved. Join us.

About Israel advocacy
More people than ever are engaged in Jewish life. For example: • 30 people traveled to Cuba with the Federation to see how we’re helping Jews wherever they are in need. Check out their photo album on the Federation’s Facebook page, facebook.com/jewishheartnj.
• Another 40 are set to go on the next Federation mission to Israel, this May, and people are still signing up. (You can too, at jewishheartnj.org/ missions.)
• Thousands of little ones are enjoying free PJ Library books and music each month. (pjlibrary.org.)
• PJ Library parents are organizing events for all PJ families to be a part of a vibrant community. Contact sarahp@jewishheartnj.org.

I learned from an early age that it’s important to support family – and Israel is family. I feel that my support for the only true democracy in the Middle East makes me a better Jew, better American, and better person. The Federation provides me with a unique opportunity to bring the diversity of the Jewish community together, to better reach and persuade people of the importance of supporting Israel.
