BRAD SHAM Emcee Brad Sham begins his 41st season broadcasting the Dallas Cowboys games in 2019. He has also broadcast 26 Cotton Bowl Classics in a 48-year broadcasting career that has seen him named Texas Sportscaster of the Year 12 times. A charter inductee in the Texas Radio Hall of Fame, Brad is a Life Member of the Board of Directors of the Cotton Bowl, a member of the Boards of Trustees of the Texas Sports Hall of Fame and Temple Emanu-El in Dallas...and a HUGE fan of The Second City.
THE MAJESTIC THEATRE
The Majestic Theatre opened its doors on April 21, 1921, as
a vaudeville theatre. It was built by impresario Karl Hoblitzelle and designed by John Eberson, one of the foremost designers in the early 20th Century. As the vaudeville era came to an end in the 1930s, Hoblitzelle began to present movies in his theatres. The Majestic hosted film premieres with big stars in attendance, including Jimmy Stewart, Gregory Peck, John Wayne, and many others. The Majestic screened its last film in 1973. The Hoblitzelle Foundation gifted the Majestic to the City of Dallas in January 1976. After major restoration, the Theatre reopened on January 28, 1983, as a performing arts venue.
The Theatre currently presents performing arts events,
concerts and comedy shows, and is also available for corporate meetings, nonprofit fundraisers, and private functions.
