oca Raton is home to two outstanding hospitals harnessing the latest technology to provide state-of-the-art health care to patients from around the corner and around the world. Internationally recognized for innovation and quality of care, Boca Raton Regional Hospital and West Boca Medical Center are both continually evolving to meet the changing needs of the community. The 400-bed Boca Raton Regional Hospital is recognized as a leader in several specialties, including oncology, cardiovascular disease, minimally invasive surgery, orthopedic, women’s health and emergency medicine. The hospital’s Harvey & Phyllis Sandler Pavilion is home to the Eugene M. & Christine E. Lynn Cancer Center. In March 2011, the hospital completed construction of a $3.5 million hybrid operating suite that marries the latest advances in surgical equipment with the latest advances in imaging. West Boca Medical Center, a 195-bed acute-care hospital, offers a variety of services and is known for its outstanding maternity program, which has been consistently ranked among the top 5 percent in the country for maternity care. The hospital also offers a Level III neonatal intensive care unit—the highest level available—and also hosts a multidisciplinary pediatric intensive care unit and a dedicated pediatric emergency room. West Boca Medical Center, part of Tenet South Florida, also uses the latest technology, including the Da Vinci 5 robotics surgical system and single-incision laparoscopic surgery (SILS), to minimize pain and aid in a faster recovery.
