Scott T. Bowes, MBA, FACHE Award
Congratulations to Scott Bowes on his American College of Healthcare Executives Recognition Program Service Award. The announcements was made by Michael J. Fosina, FACHE, Chairman, American College of Healthcare Executives Board of Governors. The award recognizes contributions to healthcare leadership excellence and volunteer service.
Brittany Redman, BSN, RN
On May 1, 2021, Brittany received the Thomas Jefferson University Hospitals “Quality Caring Award.” Brittany was recognized for her qualities that exemplifies outstanding nursing care. In particular her nomination letter highlighted “her dedication to her patients, most of whom are wheelchair-bound or require ambulatory assistance, always feel comfortable and at ease while under her care.” Brittany works in the Department of Urology outpatient office in center city. Congratulations to Brittany on this honor and becoming a new mother in 2021.
Anne Lizardi-Calvaresi, DNP, CRNP, RFNA Leads Program at the 2021 AUA Meeting
The Urologic Care for the Advanced Practice Provider program consisted of three-day programming with a kickoff Saturday event in May 2021, and a two-day program on September 11-12, 2021. The

program was held virtually in association with the AUA annual meeting (see page 26). The program drew a total of more than 1,300 attendees and was Co-directed by Anne Lizardi-Calvaresi, DNP and Jim Kovarik, PA-C. Both are members of the American Urological Association Education Committee and have directed the program in 2020 and 2021. The programming was aimed at the novice to seasoned urological NP/ PA, allied health professionals, and nurses. Courses included routine topics covering oncology, surgery, voiding dysfunction/infections, men's health, practice management, urodynamics, infertility/sexual medicine, and urolithiasis and timely topics such as Advanced Prostate Cancer Management, Evaluation of Small Renal Masses, and Tobacco/ THC/Vaping Impact on Urologic Disease. The program additionally included a large number of podium presentations, consisting of 10-12 minute focused presentations/case scenarios. Lizardi-Calvaresi and Kovarik have been named co-directors for next year's AUA APP course to be held in New Orleans, LA in May, 2022. The “Urologic Care for the Advanced Practice Provider” was featured in the AUA Daily News during the 2021 virtual meeting.
Advanced Practice Providers Vivian Ngo and Leah McDermott
Vivian Ngo, PA completed her Bachelor of Science in Health Science at the University of the Sciences in Philadelphia, PA, and Master of Science in Physician Assistant Studies at Pace University, Pleasantville, NY. Vivian joined Jefferson Urology in the fall of 2021 and has been working with our physicians at the Asplundh Cancer Pavilion. Vivian notes “I came back home to Philadelphia to be close to family and friends as well as to serve the community I grew up in. I am looking forward to working with Urology in the new office in the Price building on the Abington campus.”
Leah McDermott, PA is a South Jersey native and graduate of Rutgers University. Leah is excited to start her career as a PA with the Urology team. According to Leah “As a provider, it is important to cultivate a trusting environment with my patients that focuses on education and selfadvocation. I am excited to become a part of the Jefferson team and dive into the world of urology!”

Congratulations to Barbara Devine for 35 years of service to Jefferson and the Deparment of Urology. Barbara has been with the Department of Urology college office since she first joined Jefferson. In addition to her acomplishments as a valued employee, Barbara also just became a first time grandmother.
