EDUCATION Education is a very serious problem in a lot of places in the world right now. It’s because education is related to a lot of problems like poverty, social stratification, etc. Higher education is one of the most effective ways that parents can raise their families’ incomes. Low education levels of parents increase the likelihood of low family income. Education is very important to all the people.

Problems of Education PISA (Programme for International Students Assessments) Scores East Asian students are of BANGKOK Called as a “Superior. President Obama was very stunned of the recent test scores of Shanghai, Singapore, Hong Kong and Korea. The reason is America is understandably fears losing its global powerhouse status, if it doesn’t fight to keep up with brainy new generation in Asia, that’s now outperforming their peers in Europe and North America. For a lot of countries in asia it’s a good news but for Thailand it’s a bad news because Thai students don’t belong in the same class as the world class East Asian people. There are only few in Thailand and

there are some outstanding students who win medals scholastics achievements are at odds with the general performance of their people in the Thai education system. The PISA score for Thailand is Reading: 421, Math: 419 and Science: 425. PISA is an OECD Program for International Student Assessment, which assesses 15 years old students in Reading, Math and Science. Thailand’s scores are same with these countries: Mexico, Romania and Uruguay, above 15 countries in developing world such as Colombia, Peru, Brazil, Indonesia, Tunisia, etc. and below other.

in comparable stages of economic development such as Chile, Turkey and Romania.

School in Klong Toey Overcrowding in classrooms is one of the problems happening in Thailand education system, where an inward looking curriculum emphasizes rote learning and basic literacy. A 14-year-old pupil is known simply as “Number 26” because, with 52 children in the class at his suburban Bangkok school, the teacher can’t remember his name. All the students won’t have a good education. Critics say that without an overhaul to bring the system into the 21st century, Thailand will lose out in the race with Asian rivals for foreign investments. While Taiwan, Singapore, China and India have poured billions of dollars into developing worldclass university education, English-language instruction, and high-value skills, Thailand have moved little beyond a decades old system that aim mostly to preserve national identity. Thailand is already among the world’s top education spenders relative to its size, allocating roughly 20 percent of its annual budget to education according to central bank. As you see Bangkok is having a lot of problems with education. In Klong Toey, a bangkok district 4

between a highway and the Chao Phraya the Chao Phraya River, there are families of tour share motorbikes, street vendors sell residents, pouches of food and doors of homes are open to the outside. In this district, since 1974, there was the first-one-bahta-day school opened under Father Joe and Sister Maria Chantavarodrn’s watch. It is estimated more than 35,000 children have graduated from foundation’s schools, gaining an education that would prepare them for government sponsored primary schools. Today, the school fee have gone up to 10 baht a day and for the one-fifth of the children whose parents can’t afford it, their tuition is subsidized. 2. Innovations Atlanta Music Project In Atlanta there is a Music Project going on. The project is to intense the music education for underserved youth right in their neighborhood. The starters of this project’s biggest surprise was how quickly the city embraced the program and being supported from mayor’s office before proving a successful outcome. The 3 keys about children is that all kids and youth have potential, the body is the armature of the self, and kids get very excited to learn new things. This project gives kids the tools to maximize their life potential, through learning music. They say one instrument is one child and one life. 3. Education in Kerala The state of Kerala, a small state in South Western coast of India, have the highest literacy rate among all states. Government policies also have been very different from the rest of the country. They are leading to the development model followed in Kerala, with high expenditure in education and welfare. Kerala has also always shown interest in trying out ways to improve the school systems. Every time NCERT (National Council of Education and Training) came up with new ideas, Kerala was the city tried out first. The transaction in classroom and the evaluation method were changed. So, Instead of direct questions they changed it to indirect questions. Direct questions could be answered by only memorizing the lessons but indirect questions are openended questions and it is included so that the students needed to think before answering. 4. Good practices develops reciprocity and cooperation among students because learning is more like a team effort than a solo race. Good learning is like good work. We need to be collaborative and social not competitive and isolated. Good practice uses active learning techniques. Students don’t learn much just sitting in classes listening to teachers, memorizing prepackaged assignments, and spitting out answers. They must talk about what they are learning, write reflectively about it, relate it to past experiences, and apply it to their daily lives.

We can build a better Bangkok by improving their education system by using more technology and keep on trying like Kerala.

SOCIAL STRATIFICATION Stratification describes the way in which different groups of people are placed within society. The status of people is often determined by how society is stratified. Almost half the world is over 3 billion people and they live on less than $2.50 a day. Urbanization and the decisions that the government makes are usually connected with a high rate of social mobility in western industrialized societies. To occupation must be added social statuses based on race, gender, and age. Even though being a professor is highly ranked, also being a racial minority and a female may negatively affect prestige. There are a lot of solutions but it’s just hard to try because of money, protest, etc.

Problems of Social Stratification Social Stratification in Dallas, Texas In Dallas, Texas it’s divided into groups. The primarily creative class, primarily service class and primarily working class. There are a lot of middle class people and here are less poor class than high classes. This isn’t a very good thing happening because everybody should have equal classes. More than 80 percent of world’s population lives in countries where income differentials are widening.

Social Stratification in Klong Toey All over the world, working class and poor families bear the brunt of rising food and fuel costs. In Bangkok, Ron Corben visited slum area in Klong Toey to see how people are coping. Ron Corben reports that charities are stepping up efforts to help families, as fears grow that things will only get worse. In Thailand, is at 10-year highs, with rice the country’s staple food doubling in price already this year. The country’s central bank warns inflation will get even worse the months ahead. People in this neighborhood, just surviving have never been easy. Now, it’s getting harder. In the future, there might be nobody living in Klong Toey. Lasalin, a person who lives in Klong Toey, sells newspaper and magazines and she says the government has not paid attention to people’s need. She says the government has been troubled by political protest and survival over recent months rather than helping people’s economic problems. She also complains everything is more expensive. Most people in Klong Toey area earn little more than $150 a month. May live close to mention poverty line of just under $100 month. The incomes are dropping as country copes with higher prices. 2. Social Stratification of Skytrains The three main reasons why there is stratification are because of property, power and prestige. In Thailand, mobility has declined between at least certain classes of Thai society following the consolidation of bureaucratic elite in the expanding urban center of Bangkok. In Bangkok, there are sky trains to have less traffic, less pollution, etc. The problem is that traffic conditions may have improved, but the sky train fares are still too expensive that it’s difficult to pay for some people. In city planning, just like in graphic arts, a clear line can divide, separate or bring together two territories, two populations. A sky train passenger is supposed to travel six times faster than bus or tram passengers, who in return travel six times cheaper. 3. Innovations Jaime Lerner Jaime Lerner, the mayor of Curitiba, Brazil said in the TED talk that city can be a solution. If more people use public transportations there would be less stratification because most of the people would use transportations than cars. There would be less pollution, less traffic, etc. Events taking place in society have the power to change. In United States, the stratification system have changed for numerous reasons such as the World Wars. the Great Depression. and many civil rights movements. If we use new systems there would be a lot advantages like having less poverty, etc. “Every city in the world can be improved in less than three years” said Jaime Lerner.

Eduardo Paes Also the mayor of Rio, Eduardo Paes, said “favelas are not always a problem, it can be a solution.” Rio has 6.3 million inhabitants and 1.4 live in favelas. In favelas if you rebuild the buildings with high quality you can solve a problem. He said, “A city of future has to be socially integrated”.

1/2 world is urban of which 1/3 is slum. Bangkok can start to rebuild building in slums so that there is less stratification and build more infrastructures in informal areas. Bangkok can learn from failures, governments can give more attention to popular institutions of the poor and nurture people’s urban identities and recognize their right to belong to the city. Slum dwellers need durable house that blocks rain, storm, etc., sufficient space so that every family member have enough space, secure tenure so that people don’t clear the lands, safe water so that they don’t get diarrhea and safe sanitation like everybody needs toilets.

Transportation + Problems Traffic in Bangkok poses a large problem to the people and the city. Traffic causes major problems. Being stuck in traffic wastes people's time getting from one place to another. The problems are, losing time that could be precious, wasting fuel, doing things for kids or working, and making even more pollution that this planet can’t handle. Bangkok needs to start working now to satisfy the people. “Bangkok is bad, and it is getting worse,” says Thanisa Chimpleewat a local Thai.2 Traffic is at its peak when it is rush hour. Rush hour is when people go to and from their jobs. Since Thailand has so many inhabitants (around 50 million) people are getting way out of control with cars. Thailand has seen an 81% year-onyear increase in automobile purchases, Bangkok now has more cars than Singapore (Bangkok now has 7.3 million cars.2 A motorcycle cab driver states that the problem is that the traffic police can not take over the situation that there are so many cars.2 Since the traffic is terrible the police can not go everywhere around the city to perform their jobs. Today Bangkok remains one of the world’s least efficient major cities when it comes to transportation.2 The people need to recognize this issue and work on providing solutions to prevent a transportation disaster.

By Samantha

Between 1980 through 1990, the total number of cars rose from ! a million to 2,336,531 cars.2 That means almost every person would have a car in the city. Since Bangkok has massive amount of jobs, people are now living in the city just to stay close to their businesses. That means that the people who have cars will make it harder for themselves and other people. The more people there are, the more traffic there will be. Taxis pose a large problem to the traffic. In the past ten years the taxis have tripled increasing the amount of cars on the roads. There are few issues with taxis. The first issue is that there are too many of them. Next they cause problems, not solutions, by stopping on the road causing congestion. And finally adding pollution to the city. Waiting in the car for the light to change people are just wasting a substantial amount of time. People could be doing things for their kids, shopping, or working. Another bad objective about waiting in a car is wasting a lot of fuel that creates more pollution. Bangkok already has a lot of pollution, and certainly it does not need any more. The sanitation in Bangkok is unimpressive to the sight. To be continued… 3

1

Transportation Another problem is that there are not very efficient roads that the cars are on, or when you are walking on the sidewalk. The sidewalk bricks are uneven, they are cracked, and they can slightly move. People need to at least repave the sidewalks in order for everybody to be satisfied. Since the heat is outrageous here people chose to ride in a car instead of walking. The road where the people ride on can be improved too. On many streets there are many little paths that lead to different places. They are really small, and bigger cars are not very likely to come down them. In Bangkok’s city there are a well-known number of the motor scooters that ride around everyday. During times like rush hour, motor scooters are another big problem. They can cut through the spaces between the cars. The scooters can get so close to your car it can look like the person is about to hit you. It is a scary sight that you would never want to look at or even be in it. Another one of the problems is that cars do not let you cross the streets. Drivers should especially keep an extra eye out for pedestrians. People never know when someone might cross the street. There are a lot of people who really know they can cross the street without getting hit. They walk right pass every car and motor scooter. My second last problem is the dirty, stinky, smelly buses. Though the buses might be part of Bangkok’s biggest success of transportation so far, it is one of the dirtiest. The buses are dirty, and produce a lot of pollution to the world. People might see the buses as getting around quickly from place to place, but some people see it as dirty, smelly buses that the government needs to replace.

4

My last problem is that we have too many buses, but we do not have enough mass transit trains to extend out to the suburbs of Bangkok. People literally need a kind of transportation that goes out into the suburbs. Also people must have a sort of transportation that will be efficient and fast.

Solution My solution to traffic is that we need smaller, more efficient cars. They would not take any gasoline; they would only need to be recharged. The smaller cars would ease the traffic.9 I will keep the air clean by using recharging stations throughout the city. A decade or so ago, members of the MIT Media Lab in Cambridge, Massachusetts thought about another option of using folding cars.9 The goal was to change the relationship of automobiles.9 About a year or so ago Hiriko Driving Group launched an effort to develop of a Hiriko folding car. The car is able to spin 60o and is able to travel sideways. The maximum speed of the Hiriko folding car is 50 km/h (31 mph). The maximum charging time is 15 minutes. This gives the little cars all the time from rush hour to lunch to charge, and from after lunch hour to the last rush hour of the day. The little Hiriko cars would be the solutions to the traffic problem and the pollution problem. This would be a great way to fix the pollution problem because the folding car runs on electricity. A great amount of people in Rio ride bike daily to get around. The solution to that in Thailand is to build a special road that bikes would only be in. If the motor scooters went in they would be fined a specific amount of money depending on what their action was, or how long they rode in it. People in Bangkok need to start acting now.

+ Water and Sanitation Problems Water in Bangkok is not the cleanest water one has ever seen. The water is very dirty, and not safe to drink. Many people are dying from the fact that the water is polluted. To help this from killing anybody else, Bangkok has to come up with a plan to clean the water. It should encourage people to start to help for what they think is right.

Near the Central Chaengwattana Parking there is a small Klong filled with all kinds of items. As a person walks by it they will find the stench surrounding the water, and it will make your nose want to fall off. The Klong is filled with all sorts of things, for example: Shoes, plastic, leaves, and other toxic objects. The water has turned grey because of all the items in it. As people walk by it you can see people plugging their noses. They look at the small amount of water and their eyes spell “gross.

Solution

Problem

Students in India took upon themselves a challenge, which was to help build a plant that uses solar power to treat more than 1,300 gallons of brackish water everyday. All of that water that they produce will be donated to 750 families that do not clean water. The cleanliness of the water meets the World Health Organization Standards of clean water. The bad side of this situation is that the plant cost 45,000 USD to set up. For Bangkok this plant would be very useful. Since Bangkok, Thailand has so many dirty Klongs people are dying of the foul water, from being in it or a human drinking it. The plant would help turn the disgusting liquid into nice purified water that would be safe enough to drink. People should not be allowed to litter in the Klongs, dispose any waste from their body, and would not be allowed to be transported by boat. If any of the rules would be disobeyed the person will be fined a certain amount of money depending by the damage they have caused.

In Thailand tap water is not clean. If the water were clean then there would be some benefits. One of the benefits are saving money instead of buying the water in many plastic water bottles. Another benefit of having clean water from the sink is that you don’t waste any plastic. My family does not have a big water dispenser as many people do in Nichada. So my family buys a bunch of water bottles a pack of 12 medium sized water bottles. It is a waste in plastic, and impacts the city.

6

Problem Cherrapunji, India gets a boatload of water every year. They get nearly 40 feet of rainfall each year. Though, during the dry season from November through March, many in the particular area struggle to find water. A vast majority of people walk a long distance to find water. Half of the water supply in rural areas, where 70% of India’s population lives, is routinely contained with toxic bacteria. In Thailand we have lately gone through a flood. If that happens again in the rainy season, people will be forced to go to a dry, and higher land. 5

5

1

In Tucson, Arizona people have spent 45% of their day irrigating their yards. People in Tucson have been harvesting greywater. 13% of the single - family homes in the area were already using greywater systems illegally. The potential health risks, too, are minimal, as long as long as they take simple precautions. 7

7

7

7

Solution In Bangkok I would approve any greywater systems. Though something that is illegal is to be prohibited until the law is taken down. The people are

only doing it because they need to save their own clean water. Since greywater in Tucson is illegal, people still do it because they don’t want to use their fresh clean 6

Tucson want to change the law of grey watering that is illegal to something that is legal. The only thing the people want to do in Tucson is SAVE THEIR WATER.

Problems Another problem in Bangkok, Thailand is the sanitation of toiletry objects. Toilets are becoming a big problem. Some people a debating that we should have seated toilets, and some people still want the squat toilets. The squat toilets are supposed to be “better” for your health. The water in Bangkok is so awful that a vast amount of people die a day. In India each year 600,000 children die because of diarrhea or pneumonia, caused by toxic water or poor hygiene according to UNICEF. 6 According to the 2005 Building Accessible, at least 1-seated toilet must be provided in public buildings and fuel stations.10 Some people think that all of the squatter toilets will be replaced with seated toilets within 3 years.10 “Lek” said she was not impressed by the hygiene Problems When you walk into a public bathroom you will see a various amount of unsanitary items. You will see unsanitary toilets, dirty/hairy sinks, and none of the above are clean and hygienic. In a public bathroom at the fuel/rest station you will find at least 10 private stalls in a line. Usually 1 out of every 10 are seated. The rest are all squat toilets. In the picture above you can see the negatives and the positives of having a squat toilet and a seated toilet. For a seated toilet the users are very aware of whom they are sharing the toilet seat with. A bad thing about having a seated toilet is that it is difficult to maintain when having a complicated flushing system. The installation of the toilet is a higher cost than installing a squat toilet. Though a good part of this situation is that it reduces an amount of risk suited to the Thai elderly.

Solution The solution to this unsanitary world is to rebuild a new toilet system that does not require any piping system, sewer, or any electrical connections.8 This will make to the toilet so much more affordable for people who don’t have a toilet. In order to improve the overall health of our planet’s inhabitants, the toilet requires a complete whole new reboot of the toilet.8 The Bill and Melinda Foundation gave scientists and designers 1 year to work on a new toilet that will serve 2.6 billion people.8 7

Green Buildings and Architecture Green buildings do cost more Green buildings are buildings that are made out of reused resources. Green buildings are the solution to SO many problems and green buildings are SO efficient. Normal buildings waste so much electricity because they are not insulated. Green buildings on the other hand are insulated which means that it keeps in heat and coolness, which saves energy. Green buildings are the solution to water shortages, air pollution etc.

to build but after 40-50 years you can see that it was way more expensive to keep up with a modern day house than a eco friendly house. This is because some of the modern day houses aren’t as good quality as an eco friendly house because some of them are not sealed just because of small things like the windows being too thin so the cool or warm air just goes through and is wasted. If you live in a eco friendly house you are less likely to get sick than if you live in a modern day house.

Green buildings are buildings that are made out of reused resources. Usually they are built more efficient. Green buildings are made out of green technology. Green technology is technology that is eco friendly. Green buildings are usually healthy and productive. Green buildings also have high rental rates. Green buildings are built in less harmful ways than a normal building is built. A lot of cheaper buildings are built with resources that can be harmful to the environment and the people who are living there. If green buildings are so amazing then why don’t more people buy them well this is because they are more expensive and they don’t realize that later on the green buildings are actually cheaper than the modern day buildings. Other ways we can make people want to buy them is we need to make them have even better technology than normal buildings do. We have to make people more aware that there are green building and that they really do help the environment. 4

+

More of the buildings in Bangkok should be like the Bank of America Tower because it is one of the greenest buildings in the world is the bank of America tower one of the reasons is because it has a grey water system. In Bangkok we need to make it more tempting to have a eco friendly house.

In Bangkok there are not a lot of eco friendly buildings. That is why I think we should get some more eco friendly buildings. It will help SO much. In the future if more people live in greenhouses it would be amazing and so good for the environment and just for ourselves as people.

Air Pollution

The problem that should be better in Bangkok is the air pollution. The Din Daeng community has the highest benzone levels at 5.3 microgrammes per cubic metre compared to the standard of 1.7 mg/cb m. That is in Bangkok but there are other places that are pretty bad too china’s air pollution is so bad you can actually see it from space! This is not going to be good for us in the future. In the future these things can make a lot of future problem affects such as crops not being able to grow because there is no fresh air if they don’t grow we can’t breath. Also other animals will die. The ozone level is getting thinner and that increases chances of skin cancer.

6

Air pollution is bad because it affects the ozone layer and it also kills crops. Another effect is that is causing breathing problems for people and animals. It also causes climate change. (information from the NASA website)The last century the sea level has risen about 17 centimeters (6.7 inches). They predict that Bangkok will be one of the cities that flood the most in the future because it is so close to sea level. But why did the sea level rise? This is because of global warming. Global warming is melting ice glaciers, and ice glaciers are made out of frozen water, if they melt then more water adds to the ocean. They are predicting that every time there is a storm it will start flooding.

But what creates the air pollution? A big cause of air pollution is greenhouse gasses. These greenhouse gases are caused by multiple things such and transportation and factories etc. There are different types of things that get released into the air such as hydrocarbons, carbon monoxide, organic compounds, and many different types of chemicals. These are release by factories such as manufacturing companies, petroleum factories, waste incinerators etc. These chemicals affect a lot of things but they also affect so much of the wildlife.

+

Transportation has caused a lot of the pollution today. This is because when cities build highways in the beginning it helped decrease the amount of traffic but then more people start to buy more cars and then the traffic starts again. But when people buy new cars they also create more pollution. It burns a lot of fossil fuels. Cars produce dangerous gasses such as carbon monoxide, oxides of nitrogen, hydrocarbons and particulates. But cars aren’t the only reason its also just transportation in general. Exporting and importing things are also huge part of the pollution. The demand for things are increasing SO quickly because the population is increasing quickly.

Air pollution effects a lot of things not only the air but also environments for animals and humans. In China people walk around with masks covering their mouth and nose because of the pollution. Air pollution also affects acid rain which kills plants and if there is too much acid rain in a pond or a river the fish die. It doesn’t only affect us. It affects everyone and everything around us. Acid rain contains harmful acids such as nitric and sulfuric acids which cause great damage to the environment. But these acids don’t come from just anywhere. The are usually created when you burn fossil fuels nitrogen oxides and sulfur oxides released into the atmosphere which then create the acid rain acid snow or acid fog. One of the biggest effects of air pollution is the ozone layer getting destroyed. The ozone layer is almost like a shield that protects all wildlife on earth and it prevents sun rays from coming in and destroying everything. But not all chemicals destroy the ozone layer there are certain ones such as chlorofluorocarbons, hydrochlorofluorocarbons, and hallons. These chemicals are contained in fire extinguishers, coolants, foaming agents, pesticides etc. The thinner the ozone layer is the bigger chance of sun cancer occurs.

Green buildings is one of the best solutions because it can be done cheap and easy. You can do simple things like getting a three layered window because it keeps heat in or it keeps heat out. Another easy idea is just to have sunshades over the windows because it keeps sun away. The greenest building in the world is the Bank of America Tower one of the reasons is it has a grey water system. Another idea that they have done in many places in the world is some buildings have grass roofs because it keeps the building cool in summer and warm in winter. We can also build parks closer to the roads or vertical gardens like what they have done in Mexico now the ozone levels and other pollution in Mexico measures cleaner than the air above LA! The parks clean the air and so do the vertical gardens.

7

+

We need to make more public transportation. They have already started the BTS in Bangkok. The BTS is bus that has takes up a whole lane or more. If there are 4 lanes for example the BTS would take up 2 of the lanes. At first people were SO mad about this idea but in the end more people started taking the public transportation and then the roads started to clear up for the people who still were driving cars. They should make more BTS all over Bangkok so then more people will take the BTS and less people will take cars which creates less pollution. I also think that the public transportation should be cheaper and cars and gas should be more expensive so that people will have to take more public transportation. There are so many ways we can fix this such making greener buildings, decreasing population density, making more BTS etc. There are so many ways we can help some of them are really cheap too. Some of them are harder than others. Some simple things you can do is if you live close to your school you can ride your bike or walk. Just simple things like that can make a BIG change. People think that all these things will happen after you die butipsum you never know it might happen very soon. So far we are not lorem doing a very good job at keeping our world sustainable but we can [Street Address] change that. Just do a few things. They might not seem to help but they [City], [State][Postal Code] will over a period of time. [Web Address]

ENERGY Energy is a useful resource that we all use in our daily lives, but you might not know this but not everyone in Thailand has energy to use. For example a lot of people in the rural parts of Thailand lacks energy and without energy many people in the rural parts of Thailand cook their food over wood fires and make torches for light. This is a bad thing because if they leave the fire burning it might start a forest fire or there might be fire where people live. Also smoke comes from burning fire, and smoke causes the air to be polluted, which is bad for the environment, it makes the people around you have hard time breathing and it causes death. Imagine the air polluted with smoke, everything pitch black. It doesn’t look so good does it? You wouldn’t be so happy wouldn’t you? Well I agree with you, I would hate living like that too, trying to smell the sweet, fresh air but only smelling in polluted air.

4

In Thailand the problem with energy is that the government have a hard time getting energy to people in the rural areas, affording light bulbs for each house, company, building and factory, also because Bangkok is a very hot, especially in the summer people want to buy an air conditioner so that they can feel the coldness of the air blowing into their faces, maybe because it’s the closest thing to winter, air conditioners are the single biggest thing we waste energy on. Thailand is has a lot of importing and exporting, that’s why there’s a lot of new technology in Thailand, mostly the new phones from Apple and Samsung. When people buy new technology it comes with chargers, so we have to charge that new technology, which uses up a lot of energy. As the population in BKK increase, C.A.T the company that make BKK’s energy resource has to increase the amount of energy every year.

+ I think we can make Bangkok better by following Brazil’s idea of making deals with some companies and house holds that if they use solar panels or sustainable light bulbs the government will cut of 20 percent of their tax’s and they help pay for the solar panels. Also we could use renewable energy like solar panels, wind turbines in windy places like the north, hydropower, biofuels and Geothermal energy and etc. For example; in Denmark 20 percent of their energy resource comes from wind turbines, solar energy. Denmark’s energy resource is hundred times greater than the world’s electricity use. In India the government built a portal By doing this we will be able to reduce the amount of energy, which is energy efficiency. Did you know energy efficiency create jobs, foster economic and improves energy security for countries that lack fossil fuels resources? We should follow their ideas so that Bangkok can have a better city to live in and a better future for our grandchildren and kids.

CLIMATE CHANGE

Some people think that climate change is not really a big deal and it will go away sooner or later. Well it’s not going to go away sooner or later unless we help stop the pollution from spreading. In downtown Bangkok in daylight you can barley see the sky because of all the pollution, climate change is also global warming, global warming starts from fossil fuels being burned and the gas from cars and other automobiles, also pollution is a big thing that makes the climate change. For example China because has people call it china id the land of everything, that’s why china has a lot of pollution, there are about over 400,000 factories spread across china. Climate change is a big deal for a lot of people and animals’ part of it is because climate change causes some animal’s habit to disappear, most of the endangered animals are about to lose their habitat. For instants Polar Bears, everyone know they live somewhere cold and icy like the Arctic regions, in the Arctic regions there are a lot of ice glacier because of global warming the ice glacier are melting, that causes destruction of the Polar Bear’s habitat and it causes the sea levels to rise.

I know that everyone can agree with me that Bangkok is hot enough, but because of climate change Bangkok’s temperature will increase which cause more heat waves for us. A lot because climate change causes the ice glacier to melt and that causes the sea levels to rise, Scientists fear that by 2030 Bangkok might be submerged into the sea. Bangkok doesn’t really have to fear about climate change will affect the animals in Bangkok because most of the animals in Bangkok are Dog and Cats, but in Thailand there are Elephants, Deer’s, monkeys and other types animals in the Thailand national parks. The Thai elephants are a endanger species, with pollution everywhere the Elephant might get a dieses and die and that will make the Elephant species even more extinct. Bangkok has a lot of open jobs for people because there’s climate change the people with a family with have to move away from the city so their family could be safe, most of the people who work in the city live in the suburbs of Bangkok so it will be hard to find a place to live that is kind of close to the city. Then you slow start to lose your job because of the horrible traffic in the city.

The season is shifting too, for example during the winter season in Bangkok we were basically having a heat wave and in the rain season it was really kind of cold. Some of the solutions to stop climate change are vertical farming like in Mexico and Singapore; because they have a lot of pollution they use vertical farming. By using vertical farming they have added more oxygen into their country and decreased some of the CO2 too. It happens because plant absorbs CO2. We should also make more wild walks and bike lanes to decrease the gas that comes from cars and other automobiles. So that Bangkok can have a safer environment for the world and the people
