EVERYTHING IS LANDSCAPE SPIRITUAL RETREAT DESIGN PROJECT BACHELOR

EVERYTHING IS LANDSCAPE CONCEPT I Creation of a public equipment, intimately linked to the landscape, a place of spiritual retreat.

Located in a field in Auvers-sur-Oise, this project was imagined and designed as an introspective journey, a return to oneself. Linked by the water, it is punctuated by the different areas of the program, an art gallery, a documentation center, housing, an amphitheater and a place of meditation, symbolizing the different stages of ascents to the ancient Japanese temples.

Model picture

Inspired by the Meiji-Jingu temple in the heart of Tokyo, the different programs of the project are accessible in a particular order, as Torii, gates related to a spiritual ascent. A path following a river leads the visitor through the art gallery and a documentation center in the ground floor, an amphitheater and a meditation space looking over an artificial lake on the second floor. At the end of the journey, the visitor can rest in a private room accessible by a gentle slope on the first floor.

HOUSING / OFFICES CONCEPT I

Reflection about the differences - or absence of differences - between the architectural treatment of housing and office.

We chose the axis of the reversability of the construction materials, of the architectural space and the structural plan, to talk about the future of urbanism, the problem of density we’re experiencing in many parts of the world, but also the evolution of the work habits.

The world is changing fastly, and architecture must follow. From two flats becoming one, to a level of housing becoming offices.

«A reversible building is a building that settles in the long term. To do this, the constructive quality and its ability to be sustainable, are intrinsically parts of the solution. It is a way of taking back the hand, for us, architects, on the opportunity to consider the reversibility as a new way to create. An opportunity to regain control of the purpose of construction.»

The building is conceived as continuously changing, reversible, and based on a regular structural scheme in concrete, of 2.5m x 5.0m. A building able to grow and evolve according to the needs of urban densification.

It is composed of shared spaces around central, monumental strairs, private housing and shared housing for students, all being designed to be easily transformed and remodeled, following the evolution of the city and the life of its inhabitants.

All the apartments and shared spaces are accessible by an exterior circulation and three different staircases, architecturally highlighted on the facades.

PALAZZINA CONCEPT I The particular neighborhood of Coppedè, situated inside the historical center of Rome, is composed of Villini (classical single family houses) and Palazzine (Multi-family buildings built during the housing crisis of last century).

My concept was to reuse the typical materials of the Palazzine and traditional technics of construction of the Villini, as the rustication, but also introducing new forms and curves which would highlight the part of the building used for the circulation.

of contemporary complexity wherein, through architecture, there come together town-planning, social, technological and environmental issues while at the same time, questions are raised about changes in each of these fields.»

CAPELLA PAOLINA CONCEPT I The goal of this project was to learn how to use a measurement tool as a «total station», and to link the geometrical results with a point cloud, to be able to do the survey of a part of Santa Maria Maggiore, the Capella Paolina.

earliest building on the site was the Liberian Basilica or Santa Maria Liberiana, after Pope Liberius (352–366). This name may have originated from the same legend, which recounts that, like John and his wife, Pope Liberius was told in a dream of the forthcoming summer snowfall, went in procession to where it did occur and there marked out the area on which the church was to be built.»

History of the Capella Paolina

Built under Pope Paul V, the family chapel designed with a greek cross by Flaminio Ponzio was constructed between 1611 and 1616 in the Basilica Santa Maria Maggiore. It is the mirror of the opposit chapel of the plan, capella Sistina. The exterior of the apse, facing Piazza dell‘ Esquilino, is the work of Carlo Rainaldi.

HOUSE House is a residence project for Junya Ishigami’s parents and grandmother, on the site where his grandmother’s current house stands.

Aging and in need of rebuilding, this house was the architect’s first home, on a corner of what was once a rural village. The design is guided by his memory of the place and the scenery, the horizontal paddy field stretching in the distance, the large garden always in view from the house and the horizontal tatami room expanding the space. The variety of sceneries is gathered to compose the space.

I was able to design several options through model making, following Ishigami’s advices, and contribute to the exposition model and final drawings..

The Italian Village is an aggregate of constructions situated in a part of the Villa Medici’s garden called «Braccheria», facing the Carlu pavillions, next to the Via di Porta Pinciana.

I had the opportunity to do the survey and propose design options for different programs, through the creation of 3D model and graphic pieces. The intention of the work was the restoration and cleaning of the facades and roofs, the preservation of some of the actual use (appartments for the administration of the Villa), creation of housing for the artists in residence, the creation of a program of «coliving», for short-term residents, and the planning of new exterior spaces and gardens.

PERSONAL PROJECTS CONCEPT I

Entering the first year of architecture I quickly realized that this field required an open-mind to others, to cultures, to art. So I began to reproduce the style of contemporary artists that I like to educate myself, try and discover my own style. From Ernest Pignon Ernest, Hieu Nguyen, to Sergio Toppi, I get my inspiration from diverse mediums.
