As President of the Board of Directors, I would like to be the first to welcome you to the 46th season of the Kansas City Corporate Challenge!
As many of you know, since the inception of the games in 1980, the Kansas City Corporate Challenge has strived to promote health and wellness across the community as well as networking between the hundreds of companies that have participated in the games. Because of you, the Kansas City Corporate Challenge has been recognized as the largest and oldest games in the country.
As with all things in life, we are only as strong as the support systems we have around us; the Kansas City Corporate Challenge is no different. the games do not happen without the support of all the amazing people involved on so many different levels. thank you to our presenting sponsor, PNC Bank, and the many companies who make it possible to keep the games going every year. It is due to these generous sponsorships that we are able to keep our relationships with the vendors and venues that we rely on year in and year out to house our events, give out medals and awards, and supply volunteer t-shirts and all of the various items needed to make sure we are providing the best possible experience we can. We will never be able to thank you enough for all that your sponsorships allow us to do!
the support does not stop with the sponsorships; the countless people that donate their time and energy to the games every year is something that has honestly always had me in awe. there is a passion for these games, and we see that in every company coordinator, volunteer, ambassador, and board member that selflessly gives their time to ensure that the games go off with out a hitch. I have had the honor to work with and meet so many amazing people over the years that share a love and a passion for the games. I know this passion not only inspires me, but so many others to keep competing, volunteering, and encouraging others to be their best in all they do.
s t A te M ent to promote health, wellness, and camaraderie by presenting participants with physical endeavors designed to challenge their bodies and minds through the spirit of corporate competition.
For me, my favorite thing about the games is seeing the joy on the faces of people who come out and compete. Whether they hit a Pr on the bench press or hit the target once out of every arrow during archery, the personal victories that happen at every event are what make the games special to everyone involved. I will paraphrase a statement that was shared with me at the end of a season by fellow board member, rebecca earp: although we are at the end of another season, many new memories were made, and this is what the games are all about. the best part of a season ending is that we get to kick off a new one.
on behalf of the Board of Directors and Ambassadors, we look forward to seeing old friends and making new ones in the 2025 season of the Kansas City Corporate Challenge.
Ace sims, President, Board of Directors
Dear Corporate Challenge Friends,
Cornerstones of Care is proud to be the beneficiary of the Kansas City Corporate Challenge, and we couldn’t be more honored and excited to be a part of this fantastic event alongside you all.
Cornerstones of Care’s mission is to partner for safe, healthy communities. The money raised during the Kansas City Corporate Challenge will benefit our Build Trybe Program. This program is a mentorship community that builds health, independence and empowers youth with employable skills. It is a bridge connecting youth, who lack a stable support system, to opportunity. Our team of trade experts and community partners introduce and connect youth to three skill-based career paths and education in the culinary arts, construction trades, and horticulture.
We encourage you to visit our website www.cornerstonesofcare.org, Build Trybe’s website at www.Buildtrybe.com, or check out Build Trybe on Instagram @buildtrybe. We would love to show off the great work that our youth perform every day.
Please email me to schedule a tour of one of our campuses.
Sincerely,
Sally Cook Director of Development

the KCCC Ambassadors serve as the voice of the participant, and the eyes and ears of the Board of Directors. representing participating companies from throughout the Kansas City area, the KCCC Ambassadors may participate in the Games. An Ambassador is someone who encourages participants of all skill levels from all companies, supports the event officials, enforces event rules when necessary, provides feedback to the Board regarding companies that would be eligible for the spirit and sportsmanship Awards based on witnessed activities, and serves as a volunteer providing event assistance and administration. As experienced “KCCC Veterans”, they serve as mentors to new company coordinators. All suggestions and information provided to the KCCC Board of Directors by the Ambassadors will be considered, and it is certain that their involvement will greatly enhance the KCCC experience for all participants. We are very grateful to the following Ambassadors for their service and to their employers for allowing them to be a part of our organization.

rd for e xcellence
those involved each year in the Kansas City Corporate Challenge. The award is named for the late Alex George, founder of the Kansas City Corporate Challenge. It represents the values he demonstrated in his various sports activities, namely a competitive spirit, a selfless dedication to amateur athletics, lifetime physical fitness and good sportsmanship. Below are excerpts from the winning recipients’ nomination letters.
Angie schelp has been a company coordinator since 2016. she was a KCCC competitor before her college children were born!
Her organization, dedication and passion for Kansas City Corporate Challenge is unmatched. When Angie announced her family’s plan to relocate in the summer of 2024, finding a suitable replacement for her role as Company Coordinator was at the top of her list. she spent all season Co-Coordinating with her handpicked replacement.
Angie’s athleticism and teamwork over the years has led the women’s volleyball team to medal matches multiple years. she has frequently stepped up to fill in on teams and in areas where more participation is needed and is the first to register for our volunteer shifts. In fact, this was a pre-requisite for the new Company Coordinator; “be ready to jump in when and where you need to. We do Not lose points to forfeit!”
Don Glasscock has been mr. KCCC since joining New York Life 11 years ago. each year, he signs up to participate in more events than any other individual at the company.
He has served as an event coordinator for most events, sending updates, point calculations, cheers, photos, and recognition to athletes, and will unselfishly fill in for most any event when needed.
Don is a gracious winner and loser and gives respect to his competitors. He is a tremendous athlete and in most events of which he participates, he always seems to fair well.
Don is an outstanding bowler and our men’s Bowling team earned a gold medal this year and he earned an individual silver medal. He loves the games and advocates for our company to compete each year. He is the epitome of what a KCCC athlete is supposed to be.

The Rebecca Earp Spirit Award is given to companies that show incredible passion and support for its athletes while also displaying excellent sportsmanship and class toward other competitors. This competition has been a KCCC staple for many years. With the return to play in 2021, post-pandemic, we were unable to encourage large crowds and spectators so the Spirit Competition took its place on the bench, until we could safely facilitate the contest.
Rebecca Earp embodies all that this award represents. Throughout her many years of involvement with KCCC – whether as a Company Coordinator, participant, volunteer, or Board Member – Rebecca IS KCCC spirit. You’ve seen her behind the lens at every event capturing your most amazing moments. She’s behind the scenes of our social media spotlighting your unbelievable accomplishments. She’s manning the DJ booth and cheering you on as you cross the finish line. Because of all this, and more, this special recognition is known as the Rebecca Earp Spirit Award.
