Stories by Molly Greenberg Presentation by Rosalie Greenberg, M.D. Molly Greenberg was born in 1924 in a shtetl in Poland. An orphan by age three, she was raised in poverty by five older siblings until the Soviet army seized control. Molly survived the war by pretending she was Mary, a non-Jew living in constant fear of discovery and extermination. Molly married Sam, also a Holocaust survivor and together in 1949, they came to America to start a new life. The early years of Molly’s life were too painful to talk about. However, during a senior writing class at the JCC, Molly finally faced her painful past with the encouragement of her teacher, Molly Burack. This book is about Molly’s life, in her own words. Her ability to survive and thrive serves as an inspiration to us all. The stories were found in a long-forgotten case, many years after she died, hence the title, Secrets in the Suitcase.

Rosalie Greenberg, MD is the daughter of Molly and Sam Greenberg. She received a BA Cum Laude from New York University and her MD from Columbia University College of Physicians and Surgeons. She has been a teacher, lecturer, and educator to both professional and public audiences.

This program is presented in honor of Molly Burack through the generosity of her children. Molly was a beloved volunteer at JCC MetroWest for over 30 years prior to retiring in Florida, but we know her heart is at the JCC.

Kosher Lunch Programs & Meals on Wheels

Tuv Ha’Aretz members buy shares in a local farm and get weekly deliveries of healthy, local and mostly organic produce at competitive prices while also supporting local farmers, building community and expanding our understanding of what it means for food to be kosher—not only “fit” for us, but “fit” for the earth as well.

Nutritionally balanced, subsidized meals to senior citizens who reside in Essex County, for the homebound or at one of our lunch sites. We serve traditional foods such as Shabbat meals and Jewish culinary favorites. We also celebrate holidays, birthdays and milestone events.

Produce is delivered directly to the JCC every week for 12 weeks from July through September.

During World War II, the Brooklyn Navy Yard played a pivotal role in the American war effort—it built battleships and aircraft carriers, repaired over 5,000 ships and sent troops and supplies to fronts across the globe.

This is the first exhibit to trace the unique path Grace Kelly took from Philadelphia to Monaco, inviting viewers to discover the life of Grace Kelly (19291982) beyond the fairy tale. Through innovative use of sound, film and technology this exhibition brings us up close to the stage and screen legend, fashion icon, princess, United Nations advocate for children, and international spokesperson for arts and culture.

With unprecedented access to Kelly’s personal objects from the archives of the Palace of Monaco, the exhibition illustrates her life through letters, photographs, awards, jewelry, couture fashion and other personal artifacts, as well as film clips, playbills and souvenirs from her acting career.

We will have time to tour this interesting gem of a museum, and have lunch on your own in the charming town of Doylestown.
