Tuning:
The tuning of quarter-tone notes (sixth, third and second strings) should be as precise as possible.
The written notes on the score, however, do not reflect this tuning system: the information they provide is to be followed as if the traditional tuning of the guitar is being used. The only exceptions to this regulation are the diamond-shape notes. Their pitch information does approximate the actual, desired sounding pitch.
Performance Notes:
The upper staff follows the traditional conventions about notation and technique. The lower staff is to be performed, for the most part, by the left hand alone (hammering).
When right-hand (R. h.) hammering is requested, it is indicated by a dotted line above the affected notes.
Diamond-shaped notes, to be played by the right hand, are produced by plucking the indicated string in the segment between the point where the left-hand finger(s) press the string against the fingerboard and the head of the instrument.
This piece, which is dedicated to Roger and Karen Reynolds, was premiered by Colin McAllister on the fourth of June 2004, in La Jolla, California.
Approximate duration: three minutes and thirty-three seconds.

Afinación:
La afinación de las cuerdas en cuartos de tono (la sexta, tercera y segunda cuerdas) debe ser tan precisa como sea posible.
Debe considerarse, sin embargo, que las notas escritas en la partitura no corresponden a la afinación dada: la información presente en la partitura debe seguirse como si la afinación normal de la guitarra esta siendo usada. Las únicas excepciones a esta indicación son las notas en forma de rombo. Estas notas si corresponden, aunque de manera aproximada, a las notas resultantes.
Notaciones e Indicaciones:
El pentagrama superior presenta información a seguirse de manera normal (i.e., tal como en una partitura convencional).
El pentagrama inferior presenta información a ser ejecutada, en su mayoría, por la mano izquierda, usando la técnica de articulación conocida como “hammering” (o martilleo). Cuando la técnica de martilleo es requerida para la mano derecha (R. h.), se han usado las iniciales R. h. seguidas por una línea entrecortada colocada sobre las notas a ser producidas de este modo.
Las notas en forma de rombo, a ser ejecutadas por la mano derecha, son producidas al puntear la cuerda requerida en el segmento comprendido entre el punto de contacto de los dedos de la mano izquierda y la cuerda, y la cabeza de la guitarra.
Esta obra, dedicada a Roger y Karen Reynolds, fue estrenada por Colin McAllister el cuatro de junio del 2004 en la Jolla, California.
