o Funds will be sent directly to the Episcopal Office and will be swiped directly to Wespath. There will be no need to send funds to the Department of Retirement Services.

o The new process will minimize this from ever happening again. Once the plan has been activated on October 1, 2022 your funds that have been deposited will be reflected on your individual Wespath account. You will have 24/7 access, along with constant statements.

o Answer: October 1, 2022

• Reverend Dr. Betty Deas Clark stood to say she feels good hearing this information today. She had been in the dark for most of this and only was hearing from what “people say” and feels great about it after hearing from Reverend Washington and Bishop Green.

o Answer: The General Board of the AME Church has reported that due to the Class Action lawsuits filed against the AME Church salaried servants of the church will not have access to the funds deposited prior to the summer of 2021 until the courts have adjutegated the situation. The church is prevented from accessing at this time but there is an account of every dollar in the fund, totalling over $37 million dollars. • How do we prevent this from happening again?

In sum, Reverend Washington shared that the funds the Seventh Episcopal District has paid towards the salaried servants of our church since the summer of 2021 has been deposited into an escrow account that will be used to fund the New Life Plan.

• When will funds from the old account be transferred from the old accounts to the new accounts held at Wespath?

reassured the ordinands and the Palmetto Annual Conference that if you make the effort, God will make the way. There will be times when others won’t give you support. You aren’t doing it for them but you are doing it for Him. You are not here to be an entertainer or to impress people. You must take your work seriously and you must not handle the Word of God lightly. As a preacher of the Gospel, you are called to preach the word in season and out of season. The church has high expectations of you. Never be ashamed to preach the Gospel of Jesus Christ. Faith is more than an intellectual theory. Faith is knowing that God is able. Paul was convinced that in the center of His Christian faith was a God with power. Bishop Ingram concluded His powerful message with reassurance that God is able.

For the which cause I also suffer these things: nevertheless I am not ashamed: for I know whom I have believed, and am persuaded that he is able to keep that which I have committed unto him against that day.

Bishop Ingram challenged ordinands to understand the clarity of the call vs. the mystery of the call and left them to ponder the following points: (1) How serious and committed are they about their ministry. (2) There must be a sense of passion about his preaching. (3) You must be sure about your relationship with BishopGod.Ingram

Brother Jaheim President, Seventh Episcopal District YPD President, shared as worship leader as, Conference YPD President, Sister Marva was not in attendance due to her father’s death earlier today.

Luke 2:46 52 46 And it came to pass, that after three days they found him in the temple, sitting in the midst of the doctors, both hearing them, and asking them questions. 47 And all that heard him were astonished at his understanding and answers. 48 And when they saw him, they were amazed: and his mother said unto him, Son, why hast thou thus dealt with us? behold, thy father and I have sought thee sorrowing. 49 And he said unto them, How is it that ye sought me? wist ye not that I must be about my Father's business? 50 And they understood not the saying which he spake unto them. 51 And he went down with them, and came to Nazareth, and was subject unto them: but his mother kept all these sayings in her heart. 52 And Jesus increased in wisdom and stature, and in favour with God and Reverendman.Jones

preached a powerful and relevant message to the youth, clergy, and laity. As Reverend Jones expounds on the text, he highlights that Jesus is missing from the company of the crowd. He is absent from his parent’s purview and peripheral. While the wise men were able to find Jesus, at this point in Jesus’ life, his mother and his father were asking, where is Jesus? God uses young people in unique and unfamiliar ways. Reverend Jones reminded the youth that they are unique and chosen. As the church, we can lose sight of Jesus. We can preach and pray but still be out of touch with Jesus. We must remember to bring Jesus with us and as we do so, He will walk with us and talk with us.

35 Bishop Samuel L. Green, Sr. reminded the YPD’ers that he is there for them and he is very proud of them. The Conference Officers thanked Bishop Green, Supervisor Green, the YPD'ers, and the conference for their continued support. Supervisor Phyllis N. Green commended the YPD’ers on their commitment to Christ.

CHURCH SCHOOL EXPLOSION

The Church School Xplosion began with Praise and Worship by the Women in Ministry at 3 PM. The chairperson of the Church School Committee for the Palmetto South Carolina Annual Conference, Sister Eunice Brown, shared that today’s church school moment was going to take various positions to help share the story of the blind man being healed at the pool of Bethesda. She said we were going to learn, laugh, and get lit for Jesus. After reading the lesson, the conference committee presented a skit to reenact the story of Lazarus’ death and resurrection. The skit was funny, informative, and presented in an amazingly beautiful way.

Bishop Samuel L. Green, Sr., Presiding Prelate of the Seventh Episcopal District; Mrs. Phyllis N. Green, Episcopal Supervisor; Presiding Elder Sandy W. Drayton of the Georgetown District; Presiding Elder Juenarrl Keith of the Mt. Pleasant District; and Presiding Elder Remus Harper, Jr. and Mrs. Tanya Harper of the Kingstree District and acting Pastor of Greater St. Luke AME Church, dedicated Officers and members of Greater St. Luke African Methodist Episcopal Church; Episcopal, Conference, Area and Local Leadership on all levels; Pastors, Clergy and Laity of the 112th Session of the Palmetto South Carolina Annual Conference.

Reverend Gilbert Jenkins led the conference in a rendition of the game Kahoot based upon the Church School theme. At the conclusion, Sister Eunice Brown thanked the Palmetto South Carolina Annual Conference for the opportunity to present at the Church School Xplosion.

The Church School session continued with a panel discussion facilitated by Sis. Betty Smalls, Bro. Noel Smith, and Rev. Winston Jones. The discussion was very invigorating and led to great audience participation. Much of the questioning centered around how we deal with death and life.

32 So they brought to the Israelites an unfavorable report of the land that they had spied out, saying, “The land that we have gone through as spies is a land that devours its inhabitants, and all the people that we saw in it are of great size.

33 There we saw the Nephilim (the Anakites come from the Nephilim), and to ourselves we seemed like grasshoppers, and so we seemed to them.”

Bishop Green shared that it was the moment that showed you that you were not as alone as you thought you were. To do this work you must do it with the knowledge that you are doing it reach generations. You are being sent out to bring joy to sorrow and to speak healing in the midst of sickness, but you must believe in yourself like never before! When God sends you out to take the territory, God is choosing all of you to do it!

Bishop Green reminded us that your heartache is going to die. That your pain is getting ready to die. And you shall live. That you must trust God. The Spirit of the Lord broke out in the place and God got the glory. At the conclusion of the matter, Bishop Green asked Reverend Jarrett B. Washington lead the congregation in prayer.

Bishop Green stated that you ought to be able to give God an already done kind of praise. And that will give you the faith to know God can do it again! Bishop shared that we can climb any mountain, we can survive any valley with the help of God. If there is an obstacle, we can go around it. If there is a problem, we can solve it. If there is a question, we will answer it. With the help of God!

1. Know that “Now That They Are Looking,” the world is watching and expecting from us the demonstration of character, actions and words that reflect Christ as change agents for this new paradigm beyond COVID

We cannot settle for mediocrity in our serving but recognize that the challenges of the past two years were really opportunities to grow

RESOLUTION

To The Rt. Rev. Samuel Lawrence Green, Sr., Presiding Prelate of the Seventh Episcopal District; Episcopal Supervisor Phyllis N. Green; The Rev. Dr. Sandy W. Drayton, Presiding Elder of the Georgetown District, The Rev. Dr. Juenarrl Keith, Presiding Elder of the Mt. Pleasant District, and The Rev. Remus Harper, Jr., Presiding Elder of the Kingstree District, Clergy, Delegates, Laity, and Guests of the 112th Session of the Palmetto South Carolina Annual Conference: Greetings in the name of our Lord and Savior Jesus the Christ. We, the Committee on Resolutions, beg leave to make our Thereport.112th Session of the Palmetto South Carolina Annual Conference convened August 17, 2022, with the pre conference activities of the WIM Hour of Power and the WMS Night in White services and consequently by the Opening Session on August 18, 2022, with the 125th elected and consecrated Bishop of the African Methodist Episcopal Church, The Right Rev. Samuel Lawrence Green, Sr., presiding The overarching theme for this Conference series is “Reset Recharge - Reclaim.” From the first sermon to the last, we were able to identify that this is a season to reset, recharge and reclaim Each sermon built on the previous to culminate with the charge for all of us to return to our churches and communities, reset on who we are, recharged in the Holy Spirit, ready to reclaim all that the enemy has taken and then some! Now that we have learned how to pivot, adapt, and move forward despite COVID continuing to mutate and change, we must build on what we have learned to expand ministries with a renewed energy to enlarge the territory of God’s Kingdom

3. Be reminded that the vinedresser may need to “dig, dung or re pot” the “fig tree” which is us and that we have our “Spiritual Formation in Christ” so that when we return next year, we will be found fruitful in our ministries and flourishing for the Kingdom of God.

Chair: Reverend Sandra Ladson

2. Be encouraged to “Even Now Bless the Lord,” in the trials, griefs, and celebrations of our past, the current challenges to serve the present age and in the face of an uncertain future.

The Vision of our Episcopal Leadership has led us to:

BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that we would consider if we have “Lost Jesus” in our witness and determine to Reclaim our relationship with Him and Reclaim every situation, territory, and the people the devil attempted to steal and declare the victory in Jesus’ name!

BE IT FINALLY RESOLVED that the Committee on Resolutions offers the highest praise to God, “Hallelujah!” as the Conference salutes Bishop Green, Supervisor Green, Presiding Elders Drayton, Keith, and Harper for a job well done! Our hearts and souls have been Reset through every worship experience, we are Recharged to engage in ministry, and we will Reclaim what the devil stole and then some! “YES, WE CAN!” It is the request of this Committee to ask for the members of the 112th Session of the Palmetto Annual Conference to stand and give God praise as we SALUTE our Episcopal Leaders Bishop Samuel Lawrence Sr. and Supervisor Phyllis Nadine Green TO GOD BE THE GLORY!

The Conference commends the members of the production team, secretarial staff, the various committees and most especially Presiding Elder Remus Harper, Sis. Tonya T. Harper, the Greater St. Luke Church family, and our host District under the leadership of Rev. Remus Harper for their warm hospitality, their attention to the details of COVID protocols, professionalism, generosity and ensuring that all would be able to enjoy a Spirit filled Annual Conference.

BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that we should thank God for His healing power manifested in the presence of Presiding Elder Juennarl Keith and Sister Keith who have overcome great health challenges and we can be encouraged that Resetting, Recharging and Reclaiming is an attainable reality

The motion to receive the Resolution with the highest commendations was made by Reverend Rickey Dennis, Jr. and seconded by Reverend Adrian Kollock. The motion carried.

BE IT RESOLVED that the 112th Session of the Palmetto South Carolina Annual Conference acknowledges that we will Reset, heeding to the preached Word that invokes every member to self examine, repent, and reconnect in our relationship with God.

39

AND BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the 112th Session of the Palmetto South Carolina Annual Conference stand firm in support and be in prayer for our very own Bishop Samuel Lawrence Green, Sr., Supervisor Phyllis N. Green, and the entire District Leadership as they continue to lead the Seventh Episcopal District to next level ministry.

BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the112th Session of the Palmetto South Carolina Annual Conference will be Recharged to recommit in our support of the new Annuity program, Allen University, and the Vision Center and to recommit to engage in the mission of the African Methodist Episcopal Church in every place that our churches are found.

5. Ask ourselves the question “Are You Sure?” to challenge us to examine our calling, to walk worthy of our calling and to preach the Word, Christ crucified The best is yet to come for the church as we Reset, Recharge and Reclaim.

4. Understand that even if we consider ourselves, the least of the least, “We Look Good to God” because He has named us, equipped us, and prepared us to go to battle against the spiritual wickedness in high places Why? Because we are dressed in the Spirit, and we are “Armed and Dangerous.”

BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that if we resolve to being Reset, Recharged and Reclaim and run our race with patience, like our retirees, we can declare “Great Is Thy Faithfulness.” We acknowledge and are grateful to God and to Bishop Samuel L. Green, Sr. for changing the status of the Rev. Willie B. Thomas from Local to Itinerant Elder in recognition of her seventeen years of serving the church as a Local Elder with Itinerant commitment Furthermore, Bishop Green commended each of the retirees for their tireless years of commitment and work reminding all still in the ministry to follow their excellent examples in ministry leadership.

N. Green; the Presiding Elders, Pastors, Delegates and Members of the 112th Session of the Palmetto South Carolina Annual Conference for the opportunity to serve you. The Secretary Staff of the 112th Session of the Palmetto Annual Conference The Reverend Jarrett Britton Washington, Annual Conference Secretary The Reverend Leondra Stoney, Assistant Secretary The Reverend Dr. Brian Williams, Assistant Secretary Secretary’s note: the official edited minutes will be provided at the conclusion of the annual conference series.

I pray God continues to give you the strength and the courage to do His work. I want to give you your flowers while you can smell it.

48 Letter(Appendix)received:

Dear Reverend Pope: I want to thank you for the way you and your team always present the Memorial Service for the Palmetto South Carolina Annual Conference. Your presentation is beautifully done that if a person were not content with leaving this world to live with Christ fo rever, the person would want to see our Heavenly Father and rest in peace.

The format that you have, the Scriptures, the candles, and the music, and your voice all join together to make a lovely picture. I realize it’s a team effort. I know it had to be God’s working through you.

You have been on the battlefield for a long time because I myself have been coming ever since I connected myself with the Palmetto Conference.

Yours in Christ, Sister Juanita B. Smalls
