A Tapestry of Color, Culture, and Collective Memory
Cover Artist Marianne Angeli Rodriguez
IN THE HEART of downtown Covington, two monumental, vibrant pink planters adorned with recurrent symbols and patterns give way to a matching pastel pink storefront that serves as the gallery and studio of artist Marianne Angeli Rodriguez. Marianne’s artwork is defined by explosions of color, filled with pulsating, rhythmic patterns that dance between the abstract and the familiar.
Original, tin crown molding, painted white, reminds viewers we are in a historic 1909 building. “We’re very grateful to be here,” she says, looking around.
Her journey here—both literal and artistic—has been anything but direct. Born in the Philippines, she spent her childhood moving across continents, from West Africa to England, from Guatemala back to the Philippines, before landing in the United States. “My parents worked for the UN, so we were transferred a lot,” she explains. She had been designing clothing and jewelry sourced from Kenya, which she showed and
sold in New Orleans, when she was selected for “NOLAbound,” a documentary project showcasing New Orleans through the eyes of outsiders. Marianne’s future husband, musician Rock Whittington, wrote the soundtrack for the film. “We met on set,” she tells me.
They began their life together in the Blue-Plate Artist Lofts, living the
quintessential starving artist experience. “We didn’t have a concrete plan, just a love for what we were doing,” she recalls. “New Orleans supports that kind of energy.”
In 2016, she bought her first canvas. “That was it,” she says simply; “I never looked back.” As their careers evolved, Marianne moved to Covington, where she established her first studio. “It wasn’t something I wanted initially,” she admits, “but it ended up being the best decision.” By 2020, she had secured her current location.
The movement, the transitions, the shifting cultures and colors—all of it would find its way into her work.
Marianne’s work is unmistakable— bold, joyful, bursting with radiant palettes that seem to hum with energy. “I always choose a bright, radiant palette,” she says. “When people walk into the gallery, I can see it—their bodies change. Color is so impactful.” “It’s like the art hugs you,” she muses; “You can feel it before you even process it.”
Marianne doesn’t paint things; she suggests them. “I don’t like to render things scientifically or realistically,” she explains. “I want to give people nostalgia, but their own nostalgia. I’ll hint at a tree, a cloud, a figure, but I want them to bring their own perspective to it.” She calls this sensation “familiar unfamiliarity.” “It’s about striking a chord with someone without them necessarily knowing why,” she says.
Her work is deeply influenced by global folk art, though she resists direct comparisons. “My parents collected folk art everywhere we lived,” she says. “We had masks from West Africa, paintings from Guatemala, handwoven textiles from the Philippines.” These influences emerge in her work not as direct imitations but as echoes— reminiscences of pattern, rhythm, and storytelling.
Marianne isn’t just a painter; she is fascinated by all manner of media, and she is open to finding the beauty in every element of the artistic process. Her “Remnants” collection repurposes fragments from her studio—pieces of old palettes, dried acrylic skins, scraps of color that would otherwise be discarded. “It’s not my signature thing,” she says, “but I do it once or twice a year.” The result is both a celebration of sustainability and a way for collectors to own an original piece of her work at a smaller scale.
Her upcoming collection, though still forming, is shaping itself around themes of memory and legacy. “I lost my grandmother this past fall,” she says. “She was such a force in my life. I’m thinking about how people shape us, how their presence lingers in the things we create, and of the nostalgia of childhood.”
The idea of art as design is something that excites her. “I want my art to be in people’s lives, not just on their walls,” she says. “To be something they live with, something that surrounds them.”
Marianne’s work has found a powerful and deeply meaningful home in hospitals, The Healing Arts Foundation in St. Tammany has showcased her work, recognizing its ability to uplift, soothe, and inspire. For Marianne, knowing that her art brings comfort to patients and their families is one of the most rewarding aspects of her career. “That’s where I want my work to be,” she says. “Somewhere it can make a difference.”

Laura Causey Philippovic
Laura Causey Philippovic is an energetic entrepreneur, community advocate, and dedicated mother whose passion for giving back is present in everything she does. As the owner of Crescent City Fundraising and LVP Flooring Warehouse, Laura seamlessly balances her roles as a business leader, devoted wife, and mother and loves every facet of New Orleans.
A second-generation fundraising professional, Laura grew up watching her father, the late Lane Causey, build a legacy of service to local schools and organizations. Crescent City Fundraising has aided schools, churches, and nonprofits to generate over $70 million in profit, benefiting students and community programs across South Louisiana. Thus, with a sharp business insight and a heart for service, Laura and her husband, Michael Philippovic, continue this mission, introducing new initiatives like Santa’s Secret Holiday Shop, which brings joy to children while fostering valuable life skills in math and communication.
Laura’s entrepreneurial vision doesn’t stop at fundraising. When the pandemic challenged her fundraising business, she pivoted, seizing an opportunity to acquire LVP Flooring Warehouse. It was a perfect fit since she has a background in real estate investment and a passion for design. LVP Flooring Warehouse provides high-quality luxury vinyl plank flooring at competitive prices. Successfully facing the challenge of the pandemic is a testament to Laura’s ability to adapt and triumph by thinking strategically.
Beyond business, Laura is deeply committed to her

community. She is a proud member of the Krewe of Cleopatra, the Krewe of Dolly, the Zulu Social Aid and Pleasure Club, the Irish Network of New Orleans, the Home Builders Association of New Orleans, and the Junior League. Her love for New Orleans extends to her nonprofit work. She co-founded Every Friend Needs Love, which supports families in need during the holidays and awards scholarships to high school seniors.
Despite her many accomplishments, Laura’s most treasured reward is her family. She enjoys working alongside her husband and dreams of one day collaborating with their three children, Emily, Greyson, and John Michael. When Laura’s father was still in charge, her greatest joy in work was working alongside him, and she would love to experience that with her children one day. Her work-life balance is made possible by surrounding herself with an exceptional team that handles the details, allowing her to focus on fostering connections with clients and being available to her family.
Laura’s blog, Braveaux2Greaux, is a humorous and authentic outlet for her thoughts on entrepreneurship, parenting, and New Orleans life. It explores everything from business insights to New Orleans potholes—the good, the bad, and the ugly.
Laura Causey Philippovic continues to make an indelible mark on South Louisiana through her businesses, nonprofit efforts, and community involvement. Whether helping nonprofits raise funds, providing flooring solutions, or supporting local initiatives, Laura is deeply committed to her city and the people she loves.

When most people think of insurance, they sigh, thinking of how awful the premiums are and how daunting it is to find coverage that isn’t astronomically high in Southeast Louisiana. Our agency thinks of insurance as a challenge that needs to be accepted. Our growing team thrives on finding innovative ways to insure your valuable assets at a lower cost than the competition. After larger corporations with service centers abroad have bought out many agencies, our agency is dedicated to staying local. We pride ourselves on superior customer service and educating our clients on the exposures and options that must protect them. Insurance is a legal contract, and it is important to have someone on your side who understands the implications of all the forms and endorsements that make up a policy. We are here to help guide you through that process, one policy at a time.

New Orleanians know that there is no place like home and I am certainly no exception! Dominican High School and NOCCA are my beloved high school alma maters, and I finished my education at Northwestern State University in Natchitoches, LA - home of Steel Magnolias! Two months before Hurricane Katrina, I moved to New York City where I stayed until well after the Saints won the Super Bowl. It was living in New York during the 2007-2008 financial crisis that initially piqued my interest in the stock market.
My husband and I chose Edward Jones as a place to build wealth for ourselves, which quickly led me to become an Edward Jones financial advisor with an interest in assisting our growing local freelance community. Learning about my clients’ individual needs is something I enjoy so that together, we can develop a strategy to help achieve long-term financial goals. Whether you want to plan for retirement, save for college, reduce your tax bills or need help with estate considerations, you can expect personalized service and customized investment strategies instead of the latest investment fads. Because Edward Jones is a privately owned company, I truly work for my clients – not shareholders – when giving advice and creating strategies.
My husband, Derek - an audio mixer for film and television and I are parents to Scarlett and Grey and our family wouldn’t be complete without our rescue dogs, Baby Colston and Buster. I am also actively involved in the Ecole Bilingue and Arden Cahill parent Communities.
Riding in Cleopatra and marching with the Krewe of Dolly are some of my favorite pastimes during my favorite season, Mardi Gras! When not riding or walking, you can find our family on any parade route or at one of the thousands of Louisiana festivals. Together, we love to travel, cheer on our beloved Saints, and soak up everything that New Orleans and Old Gretna have to offer... especially the food! by Greta Hudson Honsberger
Cabbage and Potatoes and Carrots, OH MY!
I HAD HEARD about the St. Patrick’s Day parades in New Orleans, but as a quasi-interloper, I had never attended one until this year.
Unlike other cities where St. Patrick’s Day means parades and green beer, New Orleans cranks it up a notch by hurling produce, Ramen, and, yes, even bars of soap. You can catch flying cabbages and gather dinner ingredients straight from a float. It’s the Crescent City, if there’s a parade, you can bet something’s getting thrown!
I learned a few things from my first St. Pat’s parade. First, Cabbage might not be easy to throw any significant distance with accuracy, but it is very easy to catch. You can count on getting more cabbage than you have ever eaten or will ever eat in your lifetime, and may explain the origns of cabbage ball in New Orleans.
Secondly, the carrots coming off those
floats are the largest I have EVER seen, and they readilybreak when they hit the pavement.
Finally, if you are hit with a potato, regardless of the size, it will hurt terribly for the rest of the day. The next morning, you are guaranteed to wake up with a bruise, a nice little memento of the day.
Chances are, you will make it home with a cardboard produce box, either caught or scavenged from the street, overflowing with all of the lemons, onions, cabbages, carrots, and Ramen you can carry!
Only in New Orleans can you leave a parade with a head of cabbage, a potato-induced contusion, and the makings of a decent stew!

NewLife Bring to Your Home and Garden This Spring
WHETHER YOU’RE REFRESHING INTERIORS, altering landscapes, adding artistic flair, upgrading bathrooms, or designing a backyard oasis with a pool, these top industry professionals bring the expertise to give some insight into creating the perfect space this spring.
BLOOM & GROW: LANDSCAPING THAT INSPIRES
Lush greenery, vibrant blooms, and well-designed hardscapes can transform any outdoor space. Spring is the season to revive gardens, add new plantings, or rethink layouts to create a serene, stylish retreat. It’s a time for renewal, and with a bit of planning, you can set up a landscape that will continue to shine through fall and beyond.
Jason Thompson of Grass Inc. in Mandeville, a trusted expert in landscape design, encourages homeowners to begin by nourishing the plants and trees that have endured the colder months. A slow-release fertilizer provides your greenery with essential nutrients, ensuring healthy growth. Speaking of maintenance, Jason also encourages a check-up on the efficiency of those irrigation systems. Resetting irrigation controls, checking for flow issues in the sprinkler heads, and replacing worn-out parts will keep your system running smoothly. Finally, flush out the system to clear any debris or buildup, ensuring that a spring garden receives the water it needs evenly and efficiently.
Spring is also the perfect time to plant a variety of flowers and plants that will not only thrive now but will continue to bring beauty to your garden well into the fall and even year-round. Consider planting perennials like lavender, coneflowers, or daylilies for long-lasting color.
year,
an easy way to maintain a vibrant garden. Planting shrubs like boxwood or holly will provide structure and color throughout the year if you want a bit of evergreen. Adding colorful annuals like petunias, marigolds, and geraniums to your flower beds will also provide immediate splashes of color until cooler weather hits. Consider planting vincas for color that lasts until the first freeze and blooms daily.
In addition to the beauty of your plants and trees, landscape lighting is an excellent way to highlight the blooming colors of your garden, especially as the sun sets. Spring is when your flowers, shrubs, and trees shine brightest, and with the proper lighting, your outdoor space will look equally stunning at night. Installing landscape lighting is an investment that enhances your garden’s best

features, transforming your yard into a welcoming retreat after sundown. From accentuating blooming flowers to casting a soft, warm glow over pathways, the addition of lights creates a stunning view of your entire property.
AESTHETIC CHANGES THAT BREATH NEW LIFE JUST IN TIME FOR SPRING
Brighten your living spaces with fresh colors, airy fabrics, and nature-inspired accents. Offering their expertise in breathing new life into your home this season, we consulted with Inside New Orleans 2025 Home and Garden Readers’ Favorite designers Corrinn Fisher of Corrinn Fisher Interiors and Chad Graci of Graci Interiors.
Small changes can make a great impact when refreshing your home. Corrinn Fisher suggests swapping out throw pillows for the season, an easy way to update any space. Opt for vibrant colors and floral patterns in the spring to bring a lively, seasonal touch. Switching to lighter bedding is another simple change that is a go-to for Corrinn. Soft solids pair beautifully with floral pillows or a colorful throw, giving the transition fresh, renewed vibes.
Another lovely but simple addition to your decor, shares Corrinn, can be achieved by incorporating flowers for a fresh, natural touch. Making a steady comeback for a while is Chinoiserie. This timeless design style continues to bring elegance and sophistication to interiors, adding unique character. It is versatile and brings a vibrancy with its many elements, including throw pillows and vases, and it makes a room come alive with wallpaper.
Woven cane, once commonly used in furniture like chairs, tables, and headboards, as well as accessories such as baskets and mirrors, is making a comeback, not only in those classic applications but in new and creative ways as
well. This eco-friendly material is durable, light, and airy, with an interesting history that dates back to the second century. Keep a lookout for cane because this lovely, nostalgic material will be around for a while.
According to Chad Graci of Graci Interiors, tailored slipcovers are a must-have this spring, especially with sweet, intricate detailing. These can instantly refresh darker upholstery and dining chairs, bringing a sense of lightness and breeziness to a space. Also, grass rugs with fresh patterns brighten up any room and serve as a simple yet effective way to instantly refresh interiors.
Regarding color palettes, Chad sees a surge in verdant greens and pale pinks, but he is particularly fond of a soft buttery yellow paired with crisp white trim. This combination is a perfect backdrop for springinspired decor, offering a soft and welcoming vibe that complements the season’s warmth and brilliance.
Chad also recommends incorporating layers of natural materials to achieve a fresh, minimalist look without sacrificing warmth and personality. Rattan, sisal, and bamboo add texture and character to minimalist spaces, giving them a bright twist. “I do love a basket almost anywhere,” he shares, as baskets are a simple yet functional way to bring these natural elements into your home.
In terms of incorporating natural elements like wood, stone, or greenery into the decor, Chad suggests using bleached wood floors or lighter wood furniture, such as traditionally dark pieces that have been bleached or whitewashed for a more modern, spring-like feel. For stone, Chad goes for limestone and Roman travertine— lighter, less severe options than the dark marbles that have been trending. These materials evoke a more relaxed, serene vibe, perfect for embracing spring.
LUXURY WITH A SPLASH: POOLSIDE PERFECTION
Warmer days call for time by the pool. Whether you are considering a new installation, a renovation, or simply updating the surrounding space, creating a backyard oasis can elevate your home’s outdoor appeal and functionality. Spring 2025 pools are all about blending luxury with sleek, modern designs. Pools by Joe Crowton knows how to build your dream pool, incorporating the latest features that transform your backyard into a resort-style oasis.

remain popular, their designs have evolved to reflect contemporary tastes. Today’s water walls boast clean lines, larger-format tiles, and smooth water flow, offering a more minimalist aesthetic. Infinity edges and spillover features are in demand, creating the illusion of a vanishing edge or a gentle waterfall overflow.
Natural rock waterfalls continue to be favored for their organic, lagoon-style appeal, while floating or hidden waterfalls with concealed spouts provide a seamless, resort-like atmosphere. Another hot trend is LED lighting integrated into water features, which offers dramatic nighttime effects.
Fire features have also evolved. The fire bowl or fire pit bowl with fire glass, a favorite for the past 10-15 years, remains in high demand. These fire and water combos are especially popular, with many pools now incorporating sleek, linear fire features or floating fire elements that seem to hover over the water.
Tanning ledges, or Baja shelves, are still going strong, and their versatility continues to increase. New variations
include multi-level tanning ledges for a customizable experience, built-in loungers, and even swim-up tables with umbrella holders. Tanning ledges remain a must-have for 2025’s pool designs, offering the perfect blend of relaxation and entertainment when combined with LED lighting, bubbler fountains, and fire features.
From sleek water walls and infinity edges to integrated fire and water combos, today’s pools are designed to offer an unparalleled, resort-like experience. Inside New Orleans 2025 Home and Garden Readers’ Favorite Pools by Joe Crowton is at the forefront of these trends, expertly crafting custom pools and incorporating these innovative features.
SERENE SPACES: ELEVATING BATHROOM DESIGN
A luxurious and functional bathroom upgrade can elevate daily routines. Modern designs, sleek finishes, and spa-like elements create a refreshing retreat within your home. Kristianne Stewart, renovation designer and project manager at Armonia Life Design, shares that she is bringing bold, refreshing updates to bathroom spaces this spring. Regarding aesthetics, vibrant colors make a statement—not just in paint and wallpaper but also in material selections. Kristianne also notes a place for botanical motifs paired with marble and glass mosaics to create a timeless and rich look. Armonia’s custom inlaid mosaics allow clients to bring personal vision into their spaces, adding unique character to every renovation.
When it comes to materials, exotic stones like quartzite are gaining popularity for vanity tops, offering dramatic appeal without overwhelming the space. Innovative technology is also making its mark, but Kristianne takes a thoughtful approach, focusing on functionality over brief trends. In-demand USB/C GFI outlets can be incorporated seamlessly and positioned horizontally to accommodate modern plugs and reduce clutter.
Kristianne’s bath refresh option focuses on simple but impactful changes like new paint, fixture replacements, and updated bath or shower trim for those looking to update their space without a complete remodel.

Gulf Coast Lanterns Lighting Spaces with Craftsmanship and Family Tradition
Gulf Coast Lanterns, founded by Ginger Rushing in 2009, began as an online business and has since evolved into a thriving family-owned enterprise with Ginger’s son, Erik Germany, now a partner in the business. Today, it features a showroom in downtown Covington, showcasing a wide selection of copper lanterns and specializing in copper gas & electric or LED Flame Simulation Lanterns.
Ginger’s extensive lighting expertise and keen awareness of the growing demand for high-quality, affordable copper lanterns with fast delivery inspired the founding of Gulf Coast Lanterns. Knowing that the demand would be significant once she opened, she searched for a reliable manufacturer. Her search would lead to a partnership with The CopperSmith of Foley, Alabama. Their partnership enables Gulf Coast Lanterns to
offer gas and electric copper lanterns at competitive prices with fast delivery. Their collaboration with Coppersmith also ensures superior craftsmanship and quality materials for customers.
Although the online component of the business is still a great way to shop at Gulf Coast Lanterns, visiting the Covington store is an experience in and of itself. Patrons can expect the largest exhibit of copper lanterns in the area, with over 100 on display in their showroom. This lantern-filled space provides customers a hands-on experience to appreciate the craftsmanship firsthand.
A leader in the local lighting industry, Gulf Coast Lanterns is dedicated to offering beautiful, long-lasting lanterns. Thus, they are a go-to source for homeowners, designers, and architects who want to illuminate spaces with elegance and style.

STEPHANIE MEYERS BAUTSCH’S battle with breast cancer began in 2005 when, at just 36 years old, she was diagnosed with hormonepositive breast cancer — a journey that would eventually lead her to Dr. Tandon for life-changing reconstructive surgery.
After having a lumpectomy, followed by chemotherapy and radiation, Stephanie spent the next 20 years closely watching for any signs of the cancer’s return. Each mammogram, ultrasound, biopsy, and MRI brought waves of anxiety, though thankfully, the cancer never returned.
In 2023, Stephanie underwent genomic testing and discovered a cancer gene mutation that significantly increased her breast cancer risk. Determined to reduce her chances of recurrence, she opted for a bilateral mastectomy. After thorough research and strong recommendations, she chose Dr. Tandon for the surgery.
After her successful bilateral mastectomy, Stephanie underwent a complex reconstruction using tissue from her abdomen and thighs.
“Dr. Tandon offered me something other plastic surgeons could not. He could reattach some of the nerves in the breast area to the tissue transferred from my stomach and thighs.”

Making Women Feel Whole Through Breast Reconstruction
reconnection procedure that Dr. Tandon performed helped restore sensation to Stephanie’s breasts — a crucial outcome that eased her greatest fear of losing feeling.
Though her recovery was challenging the first week, it was worth it. With her breast cancer risk nearly zero and feeling whole once again, Stephanie feels profound relief. “I no longer live with the fear of waiting for test results,” she says.
Board-Certified Plastic surgeon Dr. Ravi Tandon specializes in breast reconstruction. He earned his medical degree from Vanderbilt University School of Medicine and trained in general surgery at Tulane University Medical Center. Albert Einstein College of Medicine in New York, he focused on plastic surgery, later training in advanced microsurgery and reconstruction at New York University Medical Center. Dr.Tandon is passionate about assisting women through their mastectomy journeys and is dedicated to providing caring support every step of the way.

The couple exchanged vows at St. Catherine of Siena, with Father Jeremy officiating. The nuptial Mass was celebrated surrounded by stunning Easter floral arrangements, creating a breathtaking array of renewal and celebration.
Mackenzie was a vision in her ivory satin Paloma Blanca gown, the high slit and oversized bow adding a modern touch to its timeless elegance. Her bridesmaids, dressed in soft Mist-colored crepe trumpet gowns, stood beside her as she approached Jordan—who was already overcome with emotion. Their private first look remains one of their most treasured moments, a quiet pause in the whirlwind of the day where joyful tears were shared.
Their reception at The Alexander Room and Terrace was all about
warmth and sophistication, with gold chandeliers, candlelit tables, and sentimental touches like framed photos of their parents’ weddings at the sign-in table.
Their guests enjoyed a delightful fare catered by The Alexander Room and Terrace, including a mashed potato bar that was a huge hit! The couple chose their stunning wedding cake from Swiss Confectionery and Jordan’s groom cake, an LSU-themed crawfish pot with a customized “Soileau” wooden paddle from Ambrosia Bakery.
The couple were elated when Jordan’s parents surprised them with a live painter and an appearance by Pierre the Pelican.
The celebration ended with a traditional second line and one last dance. After capturing every beautiful detail with Kennidy Photography, Mackenzie and Jordan escaped to Ocho Rios, Jamaica, carrying the magic of their wedding day into their new life as husband and wife.

Spring Cocktails
A SEASON OF REBIRTH, rejuvenation, and renewal. It’s getting darker later, and the perfect weather is here for some of our great food and music festivals in NOLA. I have created a few easy, breezy, fruitforward cocktails for springtime festivals and porch/backyard sippin’.
CUCUMBER & BASIL GIMLET
3 oz of Hendrick’s (or your favorite gin)
1 oz Fresh Squeezed Lime Juice
1 oz Basil Syrup
Cucumber slices for muddling
Dehydrated lime wheel for garnish.
Muddle the cucumber slices, pour all ingredients into a shaker tin filled with ice, and shake it up like you are at Hogs for the Cause
and they are about to run out of pulled pork sandwiches. Strain into a chilled coupe glass and garnish with a dehydrated lime wheel. This drink may also be served on the rocks in a highball glass.
SPRING BREEZE
2oz Hendrick’s Oasium
½ oz Fresh Squeezed Lime Juice
4oz Q Grapefruit Soda
Dehydrated grapefruit for garnish
Fill a shaker tin with ice, pour in all the ingredients, and shake it like you’re shaking your brass off at Jazz Fest. Strain into a chilled coupe or martini glass. Garnish with a dehydrated grapefruit slice.
This cocktail could also be served in a high ball glass over ice. This is really a personal preference. The second option is always better when you’re at a festival with a drink in your favorite Mardi Gras Krewe cup.
APPLE SMASH
2 oz Proper No Twelve Apple
½ oz Fresh Squeezed Lemon Juice
4 oz Fresh Pineapple Juice
Top off with Club Soda
Mint Sprig Garnish
Fill a highball glass with ice, pour in all the ingredients, and stir. Garnish with a mint spring. This could also be made into a julep glass and be a fun variation of a Mint Julep for any Derby party.
SPRING
& SPRITZ
2 oz Don Q Coconut
2 oz Fresh Pineapple Juice
½ oz Aperol
½ oz Fresh-squeezed lemon juice
½ oz Simple Syrup
Top with a Splash of Mumm Napa Sparkling Rose
Pineapple Garnish
Pour all ingredients into a shaker tin filled with ice, and shake it like you’re at French Quarter Fest and the Big Freedia just came on stage. Strain into a highball glass filled with ice. Top with a splash of Mumm Napa Sparkling Rose. Garnish with a pineapple wedge.
As always, thanks for Shaken’ it up with me. I look forward to seeing everyone’s cocktail creations.

A Timeless New Orleans Tradition Crescent City Steakhouse
FOR NEARLY A CENTURY, Crescent City Steakhouse has been a long-time fixture of New Orleans’ dining scene, serving up legendary steaks with a side of tradition.
Founded in 1934 by John Vojkovich, the restaurant introduced the city to the signature sizzling steak—a method that remains today’s gold standard.
When it comes to steak, Crescent City’s ribeye reigns supreme. Rich, flavorful, and perfectly marbled, it’s the most popular cut on the menu. The tomahawk-cut Wagyu ribeye is a showstopper for those looking for a bold experience. It is so massive that it’s ideal for sharing, though no judgment is passed on those who take on the challenge solo.
While the steaks are undeniably delectable, couple them with the Crescent City Steakhouse sides, and the meal will be unforgettable. Pair the perfect steak with hand-breaded onion rings or indulge in an au gratin dish—
featuring potatoes, spinach, broccoli, and, yes, even peas— with creamy, cheesy, decadent layers.
According to those in the know, Cresent City Steakhouse dessert should not be missed. Whether it’s a slice of Mrs. Krasna’s homemade cheesecake, which at 88 she makes herself, or the beloved ‘Z Pie,’ an Oreo ice cream pie, dessert is almost as heavenly as the steak.
Quality is paramount to Crescent City Steakhouse’s philosophy. Their USDA Prime beef, sourced from the Chicago Stock Yards, is hand-cut and aged in-house to ensure peak flavor. Each steak is seasoned simply with salt and pepper, allowing the natural richness of the meat to stand out.
As it approaches a century, with every sizzling plate, Crescent City Steakhouse continues to prove that great steak is more than just a meal—it’s a no-nonsense commitment to doing it right and making it unforgettable.
