SigmaFlow Value Proposition
Best Practice Execution™ in Professional Services Executive Summary George Pesansky, VP Customer Solutions, SigmaFlow gpesansky@sigmaflow.com , 610-393-6019
Desired Outcome: Knowledge gained during client engagements will be captured and shared in an efficient and effective process, within the client vertical and between client verticals.
Result: Knowledge gained during engagements will be captured, prioritized, categorized and then turned into actionable strategies based on: • • • • •
The outcome the knowledge will produce (Output). Root cause of that success (Success Mode). Magnitude of the impact the root cause creates (Effect). Frequency the root cause contributes to success (Likelihood). The detect-ability the root cause has in determining it is present and will produce results.
Each engagement will have a consistent process to quickly analyze and capture why a process, strategy, or idea has produced results. Using this structured “lessons learned” approach following any success, the body of knowledge available to all consultants will grow quickly yet stay searchable and relevant due to the structured approach used to distill the root causes of that success. The noise that did not directly influence the success will be screened out, providing higher potency and transferability.
Approach: To successfully transfer knowledge/best practices and the root causes of those successes for others to leverage, the approach is divided into two categories: Distill - This analysis enables team members to quickly break-down a success into the root causes that contributed to that success. Leverages proven tools designed specifically for root cause analysis of success. Once a team has identified the root causes of success, they elaborate on the details of how the root cause contributed to the success by linking the tools, documents, examples or references that contributed to that root cause. Team effort is focused on capturing significant detail on what is valuable, rather than spreading effort and capturing trivial details that will not directly influence others’ success. Transfer - A successful “Distill” analysis captures the root causes of success and provides relevant information for others to leverage it. Transfer is how we turn information into action. Organize the Root Cause results of “Distill” for search-ability and easy access. Package the root causes as well as success strategies for easy distribution and execution. Collect feedback data on who, what and where is using the knowledge. Use data to improve search-ability, rewards, client impact and system ROI.
