SigmaFlow Value Proposition
Best Practice Execution™ Knowledge Transfer Executive Summary George Pesansky, VP Customer Solutions, SigmaFlow gpesansky@sigmaflow.com , 610-393-6019
Desired Outcome: Excellence that occurs within an organization is Identified, Distilled to the root cause and Transferred to all sources that could benefit from it. Unique Approach: Best Practice Execution provides several differentiators as a methodology for successfully transferring knowledge over traditional approaches. To successfully transfer knowledge/best practices and the root causes of those successes for others to leverage, the methodology is divided into four categories: Identify- The ability to find the “pockets” of excellence in your organization. A Best Demonstrated Practice™ is when we find the “Best” performance with evidence (metrics) to prove it is successful. Two primary methods for identifying Best Demonstrated Practices: 1. Strategic Alignment- Known “excellence” derived from Six Sigma projects, known “examples” or data from balanced scorecards or other dashboard tools. 2. Variation Study- Using our purpose built toolkit, survey sites and process owners to establish variation in selected metrics, establishing Best Demonstrated Practices and Cost of Doing Nothing Different for the organization and sites. Distill- This analysis enables team members to quickly break-down a success into the root causes that contributed to that success. Leverages proven tools designed specifically for root cause analysis of success. Once a team has identified the root causes of success, they elaborate on the details of how the root cause contributed to the success by linking the tools, documents, examples or references that contributed to that root cause. Team effort is focused on capturing significant detail on what is valuable, rather than spreading effort and capturing trivial details that will not directly influence others’ success. Transfer- A successful “Distill” analysis captures the root causes of success and provides relevant information for others to leverage it. Transfer is how we turn information into action. Organize the Root Cause results of “Distill” for adoption. Package the root causes as well as success strategies for easy distribution and execution. Collect feedback data on who, what and where is using the knowledge. Use data to improve search-ability, rewards, client impact and system ROI. Manage dozens of implementations with single resources. Sustain- Capturing the application of success strategies, Sustain follows up on the application of those strategies as well as the on-going results. Creates an unbiased “report card” of performance for transfers. Utilizes simple survey mechanisms to capture needed data. Provides on-going visibility of performance, and sustainability.
