In the dazzling world of 1930s Palm Beach high society, Isabella Somerset—knwn as the formidable “Quen of Palm Beach”#8212is found dead, sending shockwaves through the elite circle she ruled with an iron will and impeccable style.Private investigator Drake Marlow, hired by Isabella’shusband, the charismatic polo champion Reginald Somerset, is charged with uncovering the truth behind her death. But beneath the lavish parties and sun-drenched estates, he finds a web of betrayal, illicit affairs, and dangerous rivals. At a personal crossroads, Drake must decide whether to see justice through or walk away before the shadows of Palm Beach consume him, too.Another great book in the Drake Marlow series, and I especially liked the way the ending stayed open (perhaps to be a part of a future book?). The author knows how to draw in the reader and keep them engrossed from the first page to the last. Although this is the third in the series, and prior cases are mentioned, you can read this book as a stand-alone. - DianeThis was a strong third entry in the Drake Marlow series, it had that historical fiction element that I was looking for and had that detective element that I was looking for in this world. I was invested in the mystery of this and enjoyed figuring out what was going on. Sally J. Ling has a strong writing style and was invested in what was going on. It continued the story perfectly and hope there is more in this series and from the author. - KatIsabella is a great Who Dunnit with plenty of red herrings, twists and turns. It definitely kept me turning the pages. I highly recommend this to
