1site Analysis

Connectivity

The central courtyard serves as a reminder of the Renaissance period allowing for residents and pedestrians to have common areas and encourages interaction with each other and with nature on the site.

Sustainability

The green space courtyard gives back what construction’s toll will take on the environment while creating an interesting and vibrant area for all who visit. The strucutre was mostly a combanation of concrete and mass timber which help meet LEED and the Toronto Green Building Standards. The negative impacts of energy and waste are reduced through harnessing solar energy and others.

Innovation

The shape of the building has an exceptional look, takes advantage of its natural surroundings, and integrates the waterfront community to the fullest. The void center creates a channel for the south-west winds to flow through and up the building bringing in fresh cool air to replace the hot air. The design is conscious of the surrounding buildings by reducing it’s negative impacts on the

3 DESIGN philosophy

The ground floor isn’t touching the site itself replaced by a green courtyard which is accessible by its residents and community creating a welcoming environment in the community.

The open courtyard and terraces play important roles in circulating the air as well as connectting the residents together. Besides, the continuous corridors assure there’s no dead end and/or no travel distance is more than 42 m

4 SUSTAINABILe features

The building itself is an unselfish design and adds to the community site.

The courtyard with central clear-ends void provides natural light to suites on all floors due to placement and eliminates echoes created by residences.
