MASSING MODEL
... It is not just about shells and forms ...
A persuasive story of history is written by a contemporary museum in a contemporary way and sent to the community and let people enjoy and explain it in their own ways. It is a transparent bridge to connect humanity with objects around and must make the world a better place.
Learning from Frank Lloyd Wright, the long and narrow path tightly brings visitors through different contexts like a journey from the past to the present before joining the gathering area. Then the giant atrium with a cone-shaped void opens up their feeling like an Eureka effect ...

Visitors can barely see the building boundary; instead, they see the museum intertwined the hill and the site as a whole. It simply brings a feeling of a man-made mountain along the axle of the city connecting historical monuments.

The cone shaped atrium with a spiralling ramp gradually tapering out which informs the external appearance through the understructure of assemblies exposed. That allows viewers to enjoy the structure, indoor and outdoors artworks as well as outward views along the path.
Programmatically, floors connected by a continuous ramp help make the public space assesible.

MMaking physical model helps me explore the potentials of the project as well as possibilities of having different solutions. It also helps the brain always think in 3 dimensions and ignite our imagination. Like hand sketching, when I cut a piece of paper and put it stand up, it will not be a perfect shape, my imagination will define what it is at the time.
We could always switch to another idea instantly and make another piece to fit with the new thought. By touching the wooden pieces, cutting the foam, our brain and senses all work together.
