Here’s why you need to rekindle your relationship with money

Question: Do you know what your money story is?

I have found that most people aren’t even aware of what their money story is or worse still, they might be feeling ashamed or afraid of “checking in” to find out. Since we’re not often encouraged to be in touch with our emotions, business, commerce and money isn’t something we easily admit is tied to our emotions and yet if at all you wish to become financially prosperous, you must learn to generate positive emotions that foster that state of prosperity. Manifesting money is very much an emotional thing whether you believe it and agree with me or not. The answer to our initial question can be further expanded on and clarified by questioning the meaning and definition we give to money. This is a bit of a double doozy :-) Let me tell you why: Take my example of being a former ghetto girl. What kind of meaning and definition do you suppose I was carrying around regarding abundance and money?

Let’s just say all the prayers in the world couldn’t help me manifest abundance even though my life literally depended on it.

Carried in my suitcase of life was the belief that abundance meant money and lots of it! Something that I always felt I didn’t have… Riches meant money and lots of it, something that slum kids believe isn’t fairly distributed in this world and is somehow rationed by “them” ( I have no idea who them means but that’s the word on the street). And I could go on forever with the distorted ideas of wealth, riches and money that were handed down to me. Now, if you ask any impoverished person the answer to solving all their problems and giving them a successful life, they would all be quick to say – money! However, if you asked

them what money means, they wouldn’t have a clue :-) I should know, that’s where I’m coming from.

Along my journey I have realised that while most people who I now work and interact with certainly have better paradigms in relation to abundance and prosperity, there’s still a dark shadow that looms over the meaning behind riches which affects their ability to enjoy a surplus that’s unending and stable. Thus in this month’s lecture, building on the truth behind money and riches is something that each of us can benefit from because life is ever progressing and we can always enjoy more out of life. But life cannot be completely liberating if we’re still constricted by important ideas such as that of money. And so I wish to invite you to self analyse, figure out your money story and the emotions you’ve currently attached to riches.

Money is only a symbol of exchange. It has taken many forms down through the centuries such as beads, salt, cattle and so on… In earlier times the wealth of a person was determined by the number of sheep and cattle he had but I am sure we can all agree that it is way more convenient to carry around a cheque book and credit cards than it is to carry around sheep.

Suppose today you were walking on the street and came across silver,copper,lead,iron or gold, would you condemn these as evil or bad?

The evil isn’t in the money, silver or gold but in the mind of the individual who’s living in material darkness and using these symbols in an unlawful manner. It comes from his undeveloped mind and false interpretation of life and his misuse of divine powers and ideas. Today we know from modern science that the only difference between gold, silver or any other metal or object is merely the number and rate of motion of electrons and so on, revolving around the central nucleus and in fact scientists today can change around the different metals and form them into whatever is desired. So even though we use paper and plastic to form what we call money, understand it could just as easily have been something else because it isn’t he material symbol that matters but the idea behind the symbol. This idea that is either carrying a positive or negative energy within you, is the big reason why your prosperity is as it is. If you wish to have new results, then that’s where you need to shift and change things up.

Many speak of God and yet condemn money, but that only makes me wonder whom they are worshiping because surely a creator so grand and universal that creates the vast deserts, oceans, seas, mountains and stars that surround us is capable of providing enough supply for his highest and most advanced creation. Having displayed so conspicuously that he loves variety, beauty and abundance, why expect lack and poverty in your world? Isn’t that the same as giving your child a stone to eat when they ask for bread? And what parent could do that?
