The Jewish Federation of Greater Dallas is proud of our partnership and support of Jewish Family Service for its impactful contributions to our community.
It is SO good to be together, in person, to celebrate our 10th biennial luncheon and the impact it has had on JFS clients over the last two decades. With your help, we have been able to grow our vast array of effective, accessible, and comprehensive mental health and social service offerings and, in turn, go from serving 7,400 individuals in 2004 to more than 39,000 individuals in 2021.
Our heartfelt thanks to Linda Garner and Ethel Zale, as well as our 31 honorary chairs for their tireless efforts to make this event successful over the last 20 years. We could not have seen this kind of growth without you working alongside us to raise funds as we do through this event.
For more than 70 years, JFS has met the evolving needs of our community. Since this event’s inception we have provided basic needs and counseling for those impacted or displaced by Hurricanes Katrina and Harvey, supported thousands of individuals and families through the Ebola outbreak and the COVID-19 pandemic, and have been a reliable resource for those experiencing a personal crisis or challenging life or career transition. With comprehensive resources for all ages, backgrounds, and incomes, we continue to provide our core services including play therapy for children, counseling for teens, individual, marital and family therapy, family violence intervention, career and financial coaching, older adult services, emergency assistance and, as of late, expanded access through our newly renovated food pantry.
Both JFS Dallas’ national accreditation by the Council on Accreditation and successful service outcomes underscore the quality of our effective coordinated whole-person care. We continue to maintain a 4-Star Charity Navigator rating, an honor that places JFS Dallas among the top four percent of nonprofits nationally. When you donate to our agency, we hope you know you are supporting a credible, responsible organization. The funds raised today are critical to ensuring we always have our doors open to those in need.
For guests who are just getting to know us and what we do, we encourage you to learn more about our services and how you can make a difference by visiting our website at www.jfsdallas.org or by contacting us at (972) 437-9950.
Thank you for joining us today and supporting our mission.
Sincerely,

Cynthia Izaguirre is an anchor at WFAA in Dallas, TX, specializing in television news and weekly Wednesday's Child reports.
Cynthia was raised in Dallas and is a proud product of the Dallas Independent School District. She attended Herbert Marcus Elementary, Longfellow Academy for middle school and graduated from Thomas Jefferson High School. Cynthia attended The University of North Texas and graduated with a Bachelor of Science degree in Broadcast Journalism with a double minor in Political Science and Spanish. Go Mean Green!
Cynthia is most proud of her work with Wednesday's Child. Since 2011, she has produced and anchored the segments which help find abused and neglected children a safe and loving home. In addition, Cynthia is on the Board of Directors for TexProtects: The Texas Association for the Protection of Children. It has become Cynthia's mission to fight for the most vulnerable children in our communities.
When Cynthia is not working, she is spending time with her family. Cynthia is married to her husband who she affectionately calls Captain Awesome. They have a Twin Daughter and Twin Son who are the light of her life!
Working at Channel 8 is a dream come true for Cynthia. She grew up watching WFAA and considers it a great honor and privilege to work alongside some of the best journalists in the country. Cynthia is also proud to work for a company that celebrates diversity and encourages authenticity. It takes courage to report on some of the stories we do. Cynthia is proud that WFAA wants us to be brave for the benefit of the community we serve.
You might be surprised to know that Cynthia has a passion for sewing. She grew up watching her mom, a seamstress, sew many beautiful pieces of clothing. Cynthia recently bought her own sewing machine and hopes to one day be good enough to sew her own clothes for on air!
Emmy and Tony Award winning actress and singer Kristin Chenoweth’s career spans film, television, voiceover and stage. In 2015, Chenoweth received a coveted star on The Hollywood Walk of Fame. In 2009, she received an Emmy Award for Best Supporting Actress in a Comedy Series for her role in “Pushing Daisies" and was nominated for her original role of Glinda the Good Witch in “Wicked” in 2004. Chenoweth was nominated for two Emmy Awards and a People’s Choice Award for her role on “Glee.” She recently starred in NBC’s hit comedy series, “Trial & Error,” receiving critical acclaim for her performance as Heiress Lavinia Peck-Foster.
Upcoming, Chenoweth will executively produce, as well as star in a comedy series “The Biggest Star in Appleton,” which will be on Disney Plus. She will also host a new competition series called “Candy Land,” which will premiere on Food Network in 2022. Additionally, Chenoweth has joined the starstudded ensemble cast for Apple TV+’s upcoming musical comedy project, starring Saturday Night Live‘s Cecily Strong and executive produced by Lorne Michaels’ Broadway Video.
Chenoweth has performed to sold-out audiences across the world, including performances at Carnegie Hall and Royal Albert Hall. Chenoweth released “The Art of Elegance,” her album of American Songbook classics. The album debuted at #1 on Billboard’s Current Jazz and Traditional Jazz charts, and #1 on Amazon’s Vocal Pop chart.
Chenoweth is a passionate supporter of charities which dedicate their time and efforts to helping those in need. She formed a charity partnership with the Broken Arrow Performing Arts Center (BAPAC) Foundation in her home state of Oklahoma. Partnering with the BAPAC, Kristin launched an annual Broadway Bootcamp that provides young students the opportunity to learn from top mentors in the industry including Kristin herself. She also created “Places! The Kristin Chenoweth Tour Experience," an educational program for young singers that puts them right next to her performing on stage. Each concert in Chenoweth’s ongoing tour will feature local participants from higher education conservatories, universities, and colleges for the immersive educational experience.
Chenoweth is a graduate of Oklahoma City University with a Master’s degree in Opera Performance. She is an inductee into the Oklahoma Hall of Fame, as well as the Oklahoma Music Hall of Fame.

The JFS Foundation supports the long-term viability of the mental health and social services of Jewish Family Service through planned giving and endowments. It allows thoughtful, generous people to make a lasting difference in our community for generations by ensuring the availability of JFS’ high-quality, accredited services for any child, teen, adult, or older adult in need.
Establishing a fund or endowment to the Foundation is an investment in the long-term success and viability of the programs and services of JFS. While a yearly contribution to JFS makes an important, direct, and immediate impact, a Foundation fund helps secure the future of JFS services in the community.
