Facilities rental, greens renovation disscussed at P&R By CAROL BROOKS Staff Writer If you need a place to hold a meeting, wedding, reception or other event, contact the Town of Jamestown. There are several venues in town suitable for many types of events. The early-September reopening of the clubhouse at Jamestown Park means another large meeting room has been added to the list. With that in mind, town officials are combining all the current facility use policies

By CAROL BROOKS Staff Writer The owners of 210 Oakdale Road were unwitting participants in the townwide rezoning of Jamestown in July 2009. Their property – which is the site of a four-unit apartment complex – was rezoned from R-8 (single family or multi-family) to Single Family Residential (SFR) in the rezoning. Like many property owners in Jamestown, owners Robert Lackey and Michael Bryant were unaware of the zoning change. Lackey presented their case to the Planning Board on July 11. He and Bryant requested the property be rezoned to Conditional Zoning Multi-Family Residential (CZ-MFR) consis-

National Night Out in Jamestown Aug. 2 marked America’s 32nd National Night Out, a nation-wide program to promote neighborhood spirit and police-citizen partnerships. Jamestown hosted its second annual National Night Out at Wrenn Miller Park with music, cloggers, food and fun. Those who attended also had the opportunity to talk to local firefighters and deputies from the Guilford County Sheriff’s Office. See more photos, page A5.
