Paul Kappel, Jr. has been involved in education for over 30 years. Paul initially joined Junior Achievement with the Georgia office in 1997 and transitioned to the Greater Washington office in 2003. Paul started as President in Philadelphia in 2007. During his tenure in Southeastern Pennsylvania, JA received five Summit Awards for operating excellence. In 2014 and 2016, the JASEPA Team was honored with the Peak Performance Team Award, the highest honor given to an area office by JA USA. In 2015 and 2016, he was a finalist for the Charles R. Hook award. In 2022, Paul accepted the position of President and CEO with Junior Achievement of Central Maryland.
Teresa Keller is the Retail Marketing Manager at First National Bank. Keller, who has nearly 35 years of industry experience, joins an experienced team of financial professionals who are equipped to assist clients with comprehensive financial solutions. In addition to the new Baltimore regional headquarters, First National Bank has 16 branches in greater Baltimore and a total of 24 in Maryland.
Kelly Swoope is the evening news anchor for WMAR2 News. She joined the station in 2003 as a health reporter sharing groundbreaking medical stories everyday with Baltimore news viewers. Her career began at Scripps at WCPO in Cincinnati working on the assignment desk and as an associate producer until landing her first reporting job at WITI in Milwaukee. Kelly has won numerous awards for her work on screen, and behind the scenes for her involvement in the community. She is an active member of the Susan G. Komen Maryland board and the Jack and Jill of America’s Baltimore chapter. Kelly received her bachelor’s degree in broadcast journalism from Bowling Green State University where she minored in management.
In 2010, while still an undergraduate at the University of Maryland, Ali designed a t shirt for her friends to commemorate the closing of a popular local watering hole. When demand for the t shirts spread quickly through social media, Ali decided to begin selling them online, and soon she had a budding business.
What began as a fun project headquartered in her dorm room is now Ali’s career. Today, her company, Route One Apparel, is the premier source for trendy and affordable Maryland pride apparel and accessories. The company has licensing rights with University of Maryland, National Bohemian, Old Bay, and UTZ, to name a few. They now offer a full line of over 3,000 items that are sold online and in retailers throughout the area.
Glynnetta Lewis has over 23 years of experience in developing solution based multi media marketing campaigns for local and national brands. She is responsible for maintaining and growing a multi million dollar book of business by implementing unique advertising experiences for her partners. She enjoys learning about marketing goals and missions for various companies in order to dig deeper and uncover their goals and challenges in attempt to present customized solutions utilizing assets and capabilities. Glynnetta graduated from the University of Missouri Saint Louis with a Bachelor’s Degree in Communications prior to working as an account executive for a cluster of diverse radio stations.
Dr. Trent is a Professor of Pediatrics, American Health, and Nursing at Johns Hopkins University, Chief of the Division of Adolescent/ Young Adult Medicine, and the Senior Associate Dean of Diversity and Inclusive Excellence at the Johns Hopkins University School of Medicine. She is an endowed professor of American Health and an independent research scientist and serves as the principal or key investigator on multiple research projects and training grants funded by the National Institutes of Health (NIH) and other funding agencies. A significant focus of Dr. Trent’s research and clinical interest has been on reducing adolescent and young adult sexual and reproductive health disparities. Dr. Trent is a past President of the Society for Adolescent Health, served two terms as Chair of the Executive Committee for the Section on Adolescent Health within the American Academy of Pediatrics, and currently serves on the Board of Directors for the American Sexual Health Association, Advocates for Youth, Pediatric Academic Societies, and the United Way of Maryland. Finally, she is the parent of two amazing adolescents who inspire her on a daily basis
As an experienced Executive Officer with demonstrated history working across a variety of industries, Shalisa has the ability to shape and mold organizational operations to ensure growth and success. Her skills in Requirements Analysis, Enterprise Architecture, Agile Methodologies, Software Project Management, and IT Strategy enable her to make educated, fact driven decisions to propel business objectives and drive operational enhancements. Shalisa holds a Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering from The George Washington University.
Allison is currently President of BLACK+DECKER, a role she assumed in 2022. When she started with the company more than 18 years ago, she was focused on selling BLACK+DECKER via their national retail partners and would later be a part of the inaugural team launching and driving the iconic brand on Amazon. Her current focus is to revitalize BLACK+DECKER from a traditional DIY and appliance brand to a lifestyle brand. Prior to this role and for more than two years, she served as VP and Chief of Staff to CEO Jim Loree. Prior to beginning her career, Allison earned her bachelor’s degree in Marketing from Oklahoma State University and her Executive MBA from the University of Texas at Dallas.
Kimberly is a Global Technology and Finance leader with over 30 years of career achievements. She is the Chief Executive Officer of KET Solutions, LLC, a consulting firm focused on business growth, innovation, strategy, transformation and inclusive leadership. Ellison Taylor is a sought after keynote speaker and has received many awards and recognitions for her expertise and leadership including Accounting Today's Top 100 Most Influential People in Accounting and CPA Practice Advisor's 25 Most Powerful Women in Accounting.
Ellison Taylor has an undergraduate degree in Information Systems from the University of Maryland Baltimore County, a MBA from Loyola University, an Accounting Certificate from the Community College of Baltimore County and a Master of Science from Carnegie Mellon University in Information Technology Management as well as a Chief Information Officer certificate.
Junior Achievement is the nation’s largest organization dedicated to giving young people the knowledge and skills they need to own their economic success, plan for their future, and make smart academic and economic choices.
Junior Achievement’s kindergarten through 12 programs in the core content areas of work readiness, entrepreneurship and financial literacy ignite the spark in young people to experience and realize the opportunities and realities of work and life in the 21st century.

Place the back piece of wood flat on the table.
Using hot glue, attach two side pieces of wood (9 5/8” slats) along parallel sides of the back piece.
Attach a third side piece (10” slat) along the bottom of the back piece.
Using hot glue, secure the PET Sheet Panel on top of the three-sided frame.
The final product should look like a shadow box without a top.
Decorate the exterior of the box frame using Sharpies, acrylic paint pens, magazine cuttings and stickers to represent your past, present, and future self.
o Using a Sharpie or Paint Pen to mark your graduating year somewhere on your frame
o Finding a sticker that represents what you want to be, or a motto you want to live by as your future unfolds
o Gluing a picture or symbol from a magazine that represents your background
o What did you want to be when you were younger? What profession could you see yourself going into?
o Where do you see yourself in five years? Ten years?
