October 31 Day Prayer Focus:

“Teach us to pray,” the disciples begged Jesus.And, like the loving Friend He is, Jesus granted their request (Matthew 6:9 13; also Luke 11:1 4) What is prayer? Is it a conversation between two friends?Apetition for justice?Acry for help?Ashout of praise?Yes! Prayer is all of this and so much more. Prayer enables us to communicate with the God of the universe Praise His name He hears and answers!

Day 1:

Pray in Jesus' name to receive joyous gifts from God John 16:24

Until now, you have asked nothing in my name Ask, and you will receive, that your joy may be made full.

Day 2:

Prayer brings God's gifts

Matthew 7:7 8

Ask, and it will be given you Seek, and you will find Knock, and it will be opened for you For everyone who asks receives He who seeks finds To him who knocks it will be opened

Day 3:

Agreement with other believers strengthens my prayers

Matthew 18:19-20

Again, assuredly I tell you, that if two of you will agree on earth concerning anything that they will ask, it will be done for them by my Father who is in heaven For where two or three are gathered together in my name, there I am in the middle of them

Day 4:

God is ready to answer my prayers in an instant Isaiah 65:24

It will happen that before they call, I will answer; and while they are yet speaking, I will hear.

Day5:

Pray for the right words to say when witnessing Ephesians 6:18 19

With all prayer and requests, praying at all times in the Spirit, and being watchful to this end in all perseverance and requests for all the saints: on my behalf, that utterance may be given to me in opening my mouth, to make known with boldness the mystery of the Good News

Day 6:

Pray consistently Luke 11:9 10

I tell you, keep asking, and it will be given you Keep seeking, and you will find Keep knocking, and it will be opened to you For everyone who asks receives He who seeks finds To him who knocks it will be opened

Day 7:

God hears my prayers

Psalm 145:18 20

The LORD is near to all those who call on him, to all who call on him in truth. He will fulfill the desire of those who fear him. He also will hear their cry, and will save them. The LORD preserves all those who love him, but he will destroy all the wicked

Day 8:

My connection to Jesus affects my prayers

John 15:7

If you remain in me, and my words remain in you, you will ask whatever you desire, and it will be done for you.

Day 9:

God wants me to pray to Him Jeremiah 29:11 13

"For I know the thoughts that I think toward you," says the LORD, "thoughts of peace, and not of evil, to give you hope and a future You shall call on me, and you shall go and pray to me, and I will listen to you.You shall seek me and find me, when you search for me with all your heart "

Day 10:

Prayer can eliminate anxiety Philippians 4:6 7

In nothing be anxious, but in everything, by prayer and petition with thanksgiving, let your requests be made known to God.And the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and your thoughts in Christ Jesus

Day 11:

Prayer keeps me from falling prey to temptation Matthew 26:41

Watch and pray, that you don't enter into temptation

The spirit indeed is willing, but the flesh is weak.

Day 12:

My prayers help me honor God Psalm 50:14 15

Offer to God the sacrifice of thanksgiving Pay your vows to the Most High Call on me in the day of trouble I will deliver you, and you will honor me

Day 13:

Prayer opens me to receive gifts from God Matthew 7:11

If you then, being evil, know how to give good gifts to your children, how much more will your Father who is in heaven give good things to those who ask him!

Intercession:

Intercession means to “plead on behalf of another”Therefore, when prayer appeals for God to help other people, this is intercession.As a follower of Jesus, I can no longer condemn or hate a brother or sister. Instead, I pray, no matter how much trouble he or she causes me. Christian fellowship lives and grows by the intercession of its members for one another Without intercessory prayer, a Christian community collapse

Day 14:

Jesus died, was raised, and now makes intercession for me Romans 8:34

Who is he who condemns? It is Christ who died, yes rather, who was raised from the dead, who is at the right hand of God, who also makes intercession for uS Jesus lives and makes intercession for me

Day 15:

Hebrews 7:25

Therefore he is also able to save to the uttermost those who draw near to God through him, seeing that he lives forever to make intercession for them.

Day 16:

Job's intercessory prayer saved his friends Job 42:8

Now therefore, take to yourselves seven bulls and seven rams, and go to my servant Job, and offer up for yourselves a burnt offering; and my servant Job shall pray for you, for I will accept him, that I not deal with you according to your folly. Day 17:

While he was stoned, Stephen prayed for those who stoned to him Acts 7:59 60

They stoned Stephen as he called out, saying, "Lord Jesus, receive my spirit!" He kneeled down, and cried with a loud voice, "Lord, don't hold this sin against them!" When he had said this, he fell asleep.

Day 18:

When I did not have an intercessor, God stepped in to save me Isaiah 59:16

He saw that there was no man, and wondered that there was no intercessor Therefore his own arm brought salvation to him; and his righteousness sustained him

Day 19:

Jesus made intercessory prayers for those who put Him on the cross Luke 23:33 34

When they came to the place that is called "The Skull," they crucified him there with the criminals, one on the right and the other on the left Jesus said, "Father, forgive them, for they don't know what they are doing " Dividing his garments among them, they cast lots.

Day 20:

When I don't know how to pray, the Holy Spirit prays for me Romans 8:26

In the same way, the Spirit also helps our weaknesses, for we don't know how to pray as we ought But the Spirit himself makes intercession for us with groanings which can't be uttered

Day 21:

David prayed to God on behalf of the people who suffered because of his sin 2 Samuel 24:17

David spoke to the LORD when he saw the angel who struck the people, and said, "Behold, I have sinned, and I have done perversely; but these sheep, what have they done? Please let your hand be against me, and against my father's house "

Day 22:

I earnestly ask God to help others 1Timothy 2:1

I exhort therefore, first of all, that petitions, prayers, intercessions, and givings of thanks be made for all men.

Day 23:

I pray God gives others the desire to obey His commands 1 Chronicles 29:19

And give to Solomon my son a perfect heart, to keep your commandments, your testimonies, and your statutes, and to do all these things, and to build the palace, for which I have made provision

Day 24:

I pray in the Spirit for all believers everywhere Ephesians 6:18

With all prayer and requests, praying at all times in the Spirit, and being watchful to this end in all perseverance and requests for all the saints:

Day 25:

I thank Jesus because He bore all my sins and interceded for me Isaiah 53:12

Therefore I will give him a portion with the great He will divide the plunder with the strong; because he poured out his soul to death and was counted with the transgressors; yet he bore the sins of many and made intercession for the transgressors

Day 26:

Jesus bids me to love my enemies and pray for those who persecute me Matthew 5:44

But I tell you, love your enemies, bless those who curse you, do good to those who hate you, and pray for those who mistreat you and persecute you

Day 27:

I pray for those doing God's work Colossians 4:2 4

Continue steadfastly in prayer, watching in it with thanksgiving, praying together for us also, that God may open to us a door for the word, to speak the mystery of Christ, for which I am also in bonds, that I may reveal it as I ought to speak.

Faith

“You are all children of God through faith in Christ Jesus,” Paul said (Galatians 3:26) Our faith is our connection to God It’s the lifeblood of the heavenly family We live by it (Habakkuk 2:4) and it allows Christ to live in our hearts (Ephesians 3:17)

Day 28:

Faith makes the impossible possible

Matthew 17:18 20

Jesus rebuked the demon, and it went out of him, and the boy was cured from that hour Then the disciples came to Jesus privately, and said, "Why weren't we able to cast it out?" He said to them, "Because of your unbelief For most certainly I tell you, if you have faith as a grain of mustard seed, you will tell this mountain, 'Move from here to there,' and it will move; and nothing will be impossible for you."

Day 29:

My faith in Jesus Christ affects every part of my life

Romans 1:16 17

For I am not ashamed of the Good News of Christ, because it is the power of God for salvation for everyone who believes, for the Jew first, and also for the Greek For in it is revealed God's righteousness from faith to faith As it is written, "But the righteous shall live by faith."

Day 30:

Faith works without a doubt

James 1:5 6

But if any of you lacks wisdom, let him ask of God, who gives to all liberally and without reproach, and it will be given to him But let him ask in faith, without any doubting, for he who doubts is like a wave of the sea, driven by the wind and tossed.

Day 31:

Faith can move mountains

Mark 11:22 23

Jesus answered them, "Have faith in God For most certainly I tell you, whoever may tell this mountain, 'Be taken up and cast into the sea,' and doesn't doubt in his heart, but believes that what he says is happening; he shall have whatever he says.
