The Linotype is a printing machine that automatically composes and justifies each line of characters in the text.
Invented in 1881, it was the first automatic typesetting machine and allowed for significant increases in productivity.
The term linotype is a contraction line of types, the line of metal characters that the machine is able to automatically compose.
With this editorial experimentation I wanted to retrace the history of one of the machines that revolutionized publishing production and printing: the Linotype.
Given the total freedom of the theme to work on and my passion for typography, I decided to give life to this project.
