Jacob’s Pillow is home to America’s longest-running dance festival, a recipient of the prestigious National Medal of Arts, and a National Historic Landmark.

MONCHICHI

Sébastien Ramirez, a Frenchman with Spanish roots, started out as a virtuosic b-boy. Honji Wang, a German woman with Korean roots, has a rich background in ballet, contemporary, and urban dance styles. THE FESTIVAL EXPERIENCE These events are offered throughout the Festival. Create your own itinerary with performances, free events and exhibits, dining, dance classes, and relaxation. TICKETED PERFORMANCES feature dance companies from around the globe. Experience elegant ballet, innovative contemporary dance, virtuosic tap, and other dance styles. Wednesday through Sunday, $25–$75 INSIDE/OUT PERFORMANCES are popular with all ages. Enjoy a variety of dance forms on the outdoor Henry J. Leir Stage at the Marcia and Seymour Simon Performance Space. Wednesday through Saturday, 6:15–7pm, FREE PILLOWTALKS in Blake’s Barn offer engaging presentations by prominent choreographers, filmmakers, writers, and scholars. A celebrated designer, illustrator, and artist, Ivan Chermayeff has created familiarly iconic images for prominent clients such as the Museum of Modern Art and the Smithsonian, and won numerous awards. With Tom Geismar, he co-founded the internationallyknown New York City design firm of Chermayeff & Geismar in 1955, and his designs for Jacob's Pillow in the 1980s and 90s are remembered for their bold vision and originality. THE SCHOOL AT JACOB’S PILLOW is one of the nation’s most prestigious training centers for professional and pre-professional dancers. Each year, dancers from around the world audition to participate in one of four programs: Ballet, Cultural Traditions, Contemporary, and Musical Theatre Dance. Students are immersed in the Festival as they train, take class, and rehearse with today’s leading company directors, choreographers, musicians and master teachers. Alumni of The School dance with top international companies, in films and television, and on Broadway.

FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS If you don’t find the answer you’re looking for below, feel free to contact us and we will be happy to help. Where is Jacob’s Pillow Dance Festival located? The Festival is near Route 20 in the town of Becket, MA, conveniently located only 10 minutes from Exit 2 of the Massachusetts Turnpike (I-90) and the town of Lee.

How can I buy tickets to a performance? Call 413.243.0745, go online at jacobspillow.org, or purchase in person at the Box Office. Box Office hours are on pg 31.

When is the Pillow open to the public? The grounds and Blake's Barn are open every day; ticketed performances and events are held Wednesday through Sunday. Parking is free and you do not need a ticket to enter the grounds. Check pg 3–23 for specific event dates and times.

Are children and families welcome? We welcome visitors of all ages! Free Inside/Out performances are particularly family-friendly and $10 Youth Tickets are available for select performances in the theatres. Not all ticketed performances may be appropriate for all ages; the Box Office staff can help with questions or concerns.

What about dogs? Well-behaved dogs on leashes are welcome on the grounds, but only certified service dogs may enter buildings.

Can anyone dine at the Pillow? Yes! The Pillow Pub and Café are open to everyone, with or without tickets. Reservations are requested for the Pillow Café—call 413.243.0745. Venue hours can be found on pg 33.

What happens when it rains? In the event of rain, most Festival events continue as scheduled. The 6:15pm Inside/Out performance may be cancelled or move indoors to a studio seating 80 people, and seats are distributed on a first-come, first-served basis. When possible, a live video simulcast with limited seating is offered in a nearby studio. Call the Box Office after 5:15pm to find out if the Inside/Out performance has been moved indoors.
