I first met Amy in the role of a trustee of a foundation. She had applied for a grant to acquire adjacent houses to expand the Jacob’s Ladder campus. Her story about her son Jacob’s disability and what she wanted to build was so compelling that we may have given her more money than she asked for! I soon thereafter introduced my wife to Amy and we became financial supporters, too. Years later, one of our grandsons benefitted from the school. The world is a better place because of people like Amy who, inspired by their faith in God, see a need and go about filling it. “Why not me?” is a question Amy asked and answered at JL.
