Strategic Plan Overview and Primary Goals The Jacob’s Ladder Group’s strategic plan focuses on changing the conversation about how at-risk individuals are treated and cared for, including a person-centered and transformational approach, by equipping professionals and families with training and access to the Interpersonal Whole-Brain Model of Care® (IWBMC™). Families, educators, and providers in the field are desperate for effective solutions—yet access to transformative evidencebased care remains a barrier. The IWBMC™ is uniquely positioned to meet this growing need at a lower cost and with a more significant impact. This includes transforming the way individuals are evaluated, how care plans are developed, how services are rendered, and how accurate measurement of outcomes and progress reporting is conducted for individuals with developmental disabilities, brain injury, mental health disorders, and trauma-related challenges, regardless of their age.

The Interpersonal Whole-Brain Model of Care® (IWBMC™) recognizes that when considering an individual's neurobiological, psychosocial, and learning profile variables, they each have a unique "thumbprint" shared by no other. Client challenges often correlate to over- and under-connectivity patterns within the brain, and the model addresses these by creating a unique therapeutic and educational plan for each client. The IWBMC™ is an evidence-based model that combines scientific principles with love and relationship to bring hope, healing, and transformation to individuals with neurobiological challenges.

AHAVA is a Software as a Service (SaaS) customizable digital platform offering global access to the science behind the IWBMC™, representing a groundbreaking shift in delivering care. Through this online solution, regardless of geographic location, professionals and families around the globe can access a comprehensive suite of tools to evaluate clients, design personalized care programs, communicate, and implement therapeutic activities, strategies, and interventions based on our proven IWBMC™ methodology.

On-campus and remote training is available for families, caregivers, and professionals through Ascend Training Institute. Professionals are invited to participate in training in the Interpersonal Whole-Brain Model of Care® to learn each element of this unique methodology. By participating in training, individuals can gain access to the comprehensive AHAVA software, allowing them to carry out this model of care in various therapeutic settings. Those who participate in IWBMC™ training are part of a cutting-edge movement to change the face of educating and rehabilitating individuals with neurobiological challenges.

The Pillar Research Institute strives to enhance the validity and efficacy of the IWBMC™ by rigorously assessing client outcomes and conducting comprehensive research to support the evidence-based, patent-pending model of care. The research agenda encompasses a wide range of diagnostic categories served, including an extensive retrospective cohort analysis spanning over 30 years and involving more than 6,000 individuals.

Jacob's Ladder School is an accredited and internationally known nonprofit, private school and therapy center. For families seeking a solution, it's also a haven of hope. With two Atlanta-area campuses, Jacob's Ladder offers full- and part-time enrollment in 1:1 and low-ratio learning environments, as well as inhome and remote service offerings. Jacob's Ladder School serves children and adults experiencing nuanced or complex diagnoses, including autism spectrum disorder, emotional-behavioral-relational challenges, brain injury, genetic syndromes, intellectual and developmental delays, and trauma-related disorders.

Membership to the Jacob's Ladder Network is available for those interested in replicating our Model of Care at home, in an existing educational or therapeutic program, or as a new community school or parttime center. I first met Amy in the role of a trustee of a foundation. She had applied for a grant to acquire adjacent houses to expand the Jacob’s Ladder campus. Her story about her son Jacob’s disability and what she wanted to build was so compelling that we may have given her more money than she asked for! Strategic Goals Focus Area I: Global Impact Through AHAVA. The IWBMC™ has the power to transform lives for at-risk individuals, regardless of location. The Jacob's Ladder Group has worked diligently to establish our custom-built software platform, AHAVA, to serve as a mechanism for others to implement the IWBMC™, which is paired with the vast array of training offerings provided through Ascend Training Institute. Each entity's continued development is critical to push toward our focus area of increased global impact.

AHAVA is a SaaS solution providing a software mechanism to implement the IWBMC™ regardless of location. AHAVA was conceptualized in 2017 and began active development in 2021. In 2022, Jacob's Ladder School began utilizing the platform, and in 2024, we launched access to the platform outside of our walls. TJLG has an internal team dedicated to feature and project management and works with a software development team based out of California, Daxima, for the technical development of the platform. Implementing AHAVA has transformed our on-campus operations by drastically reducing the documentation time needed for Providers and Evaluators, providing a method where live communication and updates can occur, and serving as an integrated platform for families to access their loved one's daily tracking and progress updates in one place. Not only does AHAVA optimize our operations, but it also provides a direct avenue for data analysis by the Pillar Research Institute. Integrating more features to support the user experience is critical as we continue to build and utilize the software, supporting individuals globally.

The Jacob's Ladder Group aims to increase its global impact, with the core functions of the AHAVA and Ascend Training Institute now being well established. The Jacob's Ladder Group has set goals to establish more partners, including increasing the number of certified IWBMC™ Providers and Evaluators through targeted and strategic fundraising and relationship development. As part of this global impact focus and our promise to maintain best practices with all our service offerings, our next goal is to enhance international accessibility and security requirements. TJLG has partnered with a language translation service that conducts language translation to hundreds of languages for static and dynamic text, recorded videos, and realtime video conferencing. To ensure the IWBMC™ is accessible globally, we must ensure the content can be accessed, regardless of the individual's primary language. Further, to maintain best practices as a software company, we will also complete all the software international security requirements, allowing us to set up AHAVA tenants in any location.

Goal 1.0: Increase national and international AHAVA use.

Strategic Initiatives: ·1.1 Complete language translation into 100+ languages for static and dynamic text, including the embedded training materials and recorded videos, to increase accessibility. ·1.2 Address AHAVA international security compliance for secure deployment in new markets. ·1.3 Increase national and international partnerships, including the number of IWBMC-certified Providers and Evaluators.

Focus Area II: Empower Families and Professionals, Regardless of Location, Through Ascend Training Institute.

Ascend Training Institute is positioned to tremendously impact individuals with neurobiological challenges and those who care for them. Ascend Training Institute officially launched in the summer of 2024; however, TJLG has been training and educating staff, families, and professionals on the Interpersonal Whole-Brain Model of Care® for three decades. Creating the Ascend Training Institute has allowed TJLG to formalize and expand our training offerings, which are targeted toward educating families and professionals by providing resources to help them and their loved ones. Through our whole-person, whole-brain approach, we train others to conduct IWBMC™ Evaluations, design individualized client treatment plans, and implement the model to promote transformation for those struggling regardless of location.

Ascend has created four comprehensive online, self-paced training courses for various audiences and offers two AssessmentBased Certificates, which are accredited by the prestigious Assessment-based Certificate Accreditation Program (ACAP). In addition to these online courses, we provide in-person training and concise online video tutorials for specific focus areas. To continue expanding our offerings, Ascend will develop more video series for varying diagnostic categories that address pain points experienced by families and professionals. These professionally filmed and edited videos will be less than thirty minutes designed to empower families and professionals to better understand their loved one's challenges and execute strategies to overcome these barriers. Ascend also offers increased in-person training and informational opportunities through community seminars and hands-on learning sessions to support families and professionals with the direct implementation of the model.

These in-person training offerings are currently conducted on the Roswell campus, with a future goal of developing specifically dedicated state-of-the-art on-site training facilities. As participants learn how the IWBMC™ can help their loved ones, they are folded into TJLG and engaged in additional offerings, such as enrolling at JL School or utilizing the AHAVA software platform to implement the IWBMC™ and Ascend is equipped and ready to facilitate pilot programs locally and internationally, further expanding the reach of the IWBMC™.

Goal 1.0 Expand upon accessible training content and opportunities to meet the immediate needs of struggling families and professionals nationally and internationally.

With over three decades of evidence-based work, the IWBMC™ has immeasurable amounts of data available for evaluation and publication to further validate the IWBMC™ as a best-practice model of care and continuously improve client outcomes.

Through our brain-based model, we collect real-time data with daily programming, during IWBMC™ Evaluations, and through our Neurotherapy program's collection of qEEGs, all of which are available for numerous diagnostic categories (i.e., autism spectrum disorder, brain injury, genetic conditions, and emotional-behavioral-relational conditions). As part of establishing ourselves as a best-practice model of care in the field, we developed the Pillar Research Institute. Pillar utilizes the data collected for over thirty years to conduct studies and publish outcomes regarding the effectiveness of the Interpersonal WholeBrain Model of Care®. Pillar has an established Institutional Review Board (IRB) and has published multiple posters and papers since its launch in June 2024.

The Pillar Research Institute will produce evidence-based outcomes and increase the number of publications, conferences, presentations, and studies about the IWBMC™. Pillar will create The Jacob’s Ladder Group’s textbook series, showcasing research studies and the methodology’s effectiveness.

Further, in the field of therapeutic care for at-risk individuals, there are currently limited treatment options available to families. When looking into this issue more in-depth, it is apparent that these treatment options are limited in choice, the intended audience, and generalizable outcomes. The IWBMC™ is an innovative whole-person, whole-brain approach that provides an individualized model of care for struggling individuals, regardless of their diagnosis. The IWBMC™ is equally as transformative for an individual with a brain injury or genetic condition as it is for individuals with mental-health-related conditions and all other neurobiological conditions in between. The IWBMC™ is designed to meet each person where they are, then provides a step-by-step plan to address areas of challenge and build upon areas of strength. Over the past four years, TJLG has engaged in an intensive accreditation process through the National Commission for Certifying Agencies (NCCA) to obtain accreditation for our Provider and Evaluator roles. In December 2024, this goal was accomplished as we received accreditation, serving as a prominent step forward to becoming recognized and approved providers by various insurance companies. NCCA is a prestigious program that accredits roles in related fields, including Board Certified Behavior Analysists (BCBAs), Registered Behavior Technicians (RBTs), and Speech-Language Pathologists (SLPs). Because of the excellence and rigorous alignment with the standards defined by NCCA, we now proudly offer certification for IWBMC™ Providers (IWBMC-CP) and Evaluators (IWBMC-CE), which requires completion of established eligibility requirements, passing a proctored exam, and adhering to the Code of Ethics, in addition to bi-annual re-certification requirements. The Jacob's Ladder Group established the National Council for Board Certification, which runs our certification programs. With this notable leap toward our goal, we are now on a path to secure state and federal clearance for the IWBMC™ to be an inclusive model of care for those in need, making accessing the IWBMC™ possible for thousands more families across the United States.

We are committed to continuously enhancing our programmatic and curriculum offerings to maintain this mission-critical goal.

Through three decades of this work, we are proud to continuously identify areas of need and address them head-on, regardless of the difficulty of the situation. With the rise in autism diagnoses and the number of these individuals entering adulthood, there is a great demand for more education and resources to support these transitions. Whether it is a neurodivergent teenager navigating puberty or graduating from high school and attempting to live independently or find a job, limited support is available to foster smooth transitions for these critical points of life. When individuals attempt these transitions and experience failure, they often backslide and suffer severe regressions, negatively impacting the individual and their entire family unit. With the limited support and resources currently available, this is happening daily across the globe. The Jacob's Ladder Group is committed to providing this support to our clients and those outside our walls who are preparing for these transitions or who have found themselves in situations where they are struggling. Through our on- and off-campus offerings in the Compass program and with deep consideration of the client's Social Structure and their unique Spirit & Will, we continue to provide informative and specific tools to assist clients and families through these transitions.

One incredibly special program at Jacob's Ladder is the Circle of Hope program, which utilizes animal-assisted therapy to provide holistic client support. We have numerous animals on campus, including alpacas, goats, donkeys, a miniature horse, chickens, guinea pigs, and a cat. These animals were all rescued when they needed a loving home and, in turn, have provided immeasurable therapeutic value to each client on campus. Our specifically trained providers facilitate specific interactions and activities to address the client's unique goals while simultaneously teaching them about connection, emotions, and unconditional love. To expand this program, we are excited to launch Wild Heart Rescue, an innovative canine therapy program that provides life-changing support for both the clients and dogs involved. Wild Heart Rescue is on a mission to rescue dogs from local animal shelters, foster and train them to work with children in therapeutic settings, and ultimately find them loving forever homes. This program will be the first of its kind to combine animal-assisted therapy, rescue efforts, and adoption, ensuring both the animals and clients experience transformational healing.

With the Roswell location as the flagship campus and Buckhead as the first established pilot program, we continue to enhance the offerings at each campus, adapting our cutting-edge programs based on the community’s needs.

Focus Area V: Public Awareness & Thought Leadership Through IWBMC™ Marketing and Public Relations.

Based on 30 years of diligent work, The Jacob’s Ladder Group has built a structure of symbiotic offerings that serve the neurodiverse population nationally and internationally. To this end, we have partnered with Brown Bag Marketing to elevate our marketing efforts and, in 2024, received a Google Grant for up to $10,000 in advertising per month. In 2023 and 2024, we also underwent an extensive re-branding campaign, which included the development of a new website, logos and imagery, and email campaigns. This process has been transformative, and we are now positioned to enhance our digital media efforts, with a targeted focus on drawing in donors and professionals. By increasing the number of donors and professionals aware of the IWBMC™, we not only accomplish but also exceed our goals, impacting more lives across the globe and changing the conversation for those in need.

Further, through Amy's history as a once-in-a-generation leader and innovator who is on a quest to change how the world addresses neurobiological delays and disorders, she is keenly positioned to continue her journey of transforming lives as a Thought Leader in the field. With the continued growth and expansion of The Jacob's Ladder Group, Amy’s role as a Thought Leader allows her to share her story and provide a path for hope and healing for those who are struggling. Amy O'Dell has been a pioneer in neuroscience and the founder and CEO of The Jacob’s Ladder Group since 1998. As Amy's role transforms to serving as a thought leader in the field, The Jacob's Ladder Group has worked diligently to establish a solid succession plan and a team of individuals to lead TJLG while remaining faithful to the original values and mission of the flagship campus. A dual leadership model has been established to support this critical transition, and a full succession plan with benchmarks and timelines is being developed. The dual-leadership model maximizes the strengths of the current leadership team, including historical knowledge of the organization and an in-depth understanding of the methodology and business model. Two key Officers have been identified to serve in these roles, with a specifically planned addition of a strategic business officer and a framework outlined to attain specialized experience in other necessary areas. This goal will remain at the forefront for several years, providing an actionable succession plan to ensure that The Jacob's Ladder Group is sustained and thriving as Amy's role evolves.

Further, The Jacob's Ladder Group continues to expand and grow through the launch of our entities (Ascend Training Institute, Pillar Research Institute, AHAVA software platform, and Jacob's Ladder Network) in parallel with the continuous high-level care provided through Jacob's Ladder School. Trauma Support Model In our recently published research, we examined the Interpersonal Whole-Brain Model of Care® (IWBMC™) Trauma Support Model, which addresses the unique challenges faced by neurodivergent individuals with trauma histories. The model establishes a triangular framework with Hope, Truth, and Love as its foundational principles, centered around recognizing each client's Spirit & Will—their inherent dignity and worth. Our analysis of qEEG data from 12 neurodivergent clients revealed distinct neural patterns between acute and complex trauma presentations, with 92% showing improvements in sensory processing, 88% in emotional regulation pathways, and 75% in motor integration areas. A critical finding was that neural reorganization followed a consistent sequence: foundational sensory processing must be addressed before progressing to emotional regulation and higher-order integration networks.
