SPACE OF SCENT

DESIGN CONCEPT

My design concept for this shelter is to give and experience the changes that time does to the lifespan of a building.

The sense of smell help us to identify the type of space we are in even if we didnt been there for a long period of time.

SILENCE,TIME AND SOLITUDE

•Architecture can silence all noise to help focus on what is happening within the space.

•A building can act as a time stamp which telling us story of what happened in the pass

PROJECT 2

LENGGONG VALLEY

BRIEFING ON LOCATION CLUSTER 2

Situated in the ush Lenggong Valley, the property includes four archaeological sites in two clusters which span close to 2 million years. One of the longest records of early man in a single locality, and the oldest outside the African continent. It features open-air and cave sites with palaeolithic tool workshops, evidence of early technology. The number of sites found in the relatively contained area suggests the presence of a fairly large, semisedentary population with cultural remains from the palaeolithic, Neolithic and Metal ages.

Lenggong Valley is one o Malaysia’s heritage which is divided into 2 clusters (cluster 1 and cluster 2).

CLUSTER 1

ACCESS

VEGETATION

There is limited or even non-proper access into the excavation site from the main road. The traffic is fast as well for the main road. So one of the method would be providing a road into the site chosen.

The is to show what type of building is located with the town within the cluster 1. This is to help identify the job space and type of programme can be provide when designing the museum.

Within this cluster 1, there is too many palm trees surrounding the site, so one of the methodology I thought of is to provide a replantation of origin trees which most species can be found within Royal Belum.

INTERVENTION 1 This intervention was to help improve the excavation site and museum intervention.

INTERVENTION 2 This intervention is to rehabitate the origin forest from the past and provide some activities in it to provide knowledge about the flora and fauna that can be found in lenggong valley.

INTERVENTION 3 This intervention is to provide the locals with a locations improve their economics and knowledge of agriculture.
