The enigma of the speed of light
The speed of light is so high for our local standards that we use it as the zero-point of time. This is the case of lightning and thunder, which allows us to calculate, in kilometers, how far away the storm is approaching. However, in astronomical terms the light is so slow that it could be compared to a turbinated slug. Starting from the closest star of us, Alpha of the centaur, light needs 4.4 years to reach Earth. Even so, just lift your head to the sky so that all stars are instantly sighted. How is this possible? Read the following article and you will be amazed at what awaits you. Good reading!
