From mode of transport to lifestyle object
Über die Jahrzehnte hat sich das Fahrrad vom Fortbewegungs- und Transportmittel der einfachen Leute hin zu einem begehrten Lifestyle-Objekt entwickelt. Standen in der Vergangenheit Kriterien wie Zuverlässigkeit, Robustheit und Preis im Vordergrund, so spielen heute Technologie, Funktionalität und Design die Hauptrolle.
As the decades went by, the bicycle went from being an everyday means of transportation to becoming a coveted lifestyle object. In the past, priority was given to criteria such as reliability, robustness and cost, whereas today, aspects such as technology, functionality and design play the leading roll.
Parallel haben sich immer neue Einsatzfelder entwickelt. Aus dem einfachen Fahr- und Lastenrad wurden Cityräder, Trekkingräder, Rennräder, Mountainbikes. Ob Alltagsbegleiter oder Sportgerät, für jeden und für die unterschiedlichsten Einsatzzwecke findet sich inzwischen das passende Rad. Das jüngste Segment: E-Bikes. Sie sind Ausdruck eines modernen Lebensstil und erfüllen die Ansprüche an das damit einhergehende Mobilitätsverhalten in besonderem Maße. Doch längst ist E-Bike nicht mehr gleich E-Bike. Neben den ursprünglichen City- und Trekkingrädern bieten die Hersteller inzwischen auch E-Mountainbikes an. Und es ist wohl nur eine Frage der Zeit bis die ersten Rennräder mit Elektromotor auf dem Markt erscheinen. Auch wir gehen mit der Zeit. Als Handschuhspezialist ist es unser Anspruch auf aktuelle Entwicklungen und Anforderungen mit entsprechenden Produkten zu reagieren. So ergänzen wir unser Sortiment mit der Saison 2014 durch das Segment E-Bike. Neben dem funktionalen Aspekt stehen hier insbesondere die Themen Materialauswahl und Design im Fokus, denn nicht jeder Radhandschuh muss aussehen wie ein Radhandschuh. Die Modelle Orvin und Onex beispielsweise erinnern eher an klassische Lederhandschuhe. Sie verzichten jedoch nicht auf die bewährten radspezifischen Ausstattungsmerkmale - ein Spagat, der uns dank langjähriger Erfahrung und Expertise gelingt. Die Wachstumsraten und die Diversifizierung des Marktes zeigen welches Potential im Thema E-Bike steckt. Wir beobachten gespannt die weitere Marktentwicklung und freuen uns mit Ihnen auf eine gemeinsame (E-) Bike Saison 2014.
At the same time, bikes are increasingly being used in new ways. Simple bicycles that were used merely to transport people and objects have now turned into city bikes, trekking bikes, racers and mountain bikes. Whether as an everyday companion or a piece of sports equipment: nowadays, everyone can find the right bike to meet his or her personal needs, however varied they may be. The latest segment: e-bikes. This new addition to the bicycle range is an expression of a modern lifestyle and perfectly meets the mobility requirements such a lifestyle entails. Yet not all e-bikes are the same. On the contrary: in addition to the original city- and trekking bikes, manufacturers now also sell e-mountain bikes. And it is probably just a matter of time before the first racers with an electric motor appear on the market. Here at Roeckl Sports we, too, keep up with the times. As a glove specialist, we aspire to react to current developments and requirements by designing the right products to meet these needs. That is why we have we have expanded our product range for the 2014 season to include the E-Bike Segment. Apart from the functional aspects, this new segment particularly focuses on design and the right choice of materials, because not every biking glove necessarily has to look like a biking glove. The models Orvin and Onex, for example, are in fact more reminiscent of classic leather gloves. Yet of course they also include the features and properties required specifically of biking gloves. Thanks to our expertise and many years of experience, we were able to strike the perfect balance between functionality and design. The growth rates and the diversification of the market show that the e-bike sector harbors great potential. We are keen to see how this market continues to develop, and together with you we are looking forward to the 2014 (E-)Bike Season.
