PROGRAMGUIDE

When camp concluded in the summer of 2019, we had no way of knowing then about the pandemic that would impact the world.
Now that we're back to a semblance of normalcy, we are thrilled to bring back Jaguar Summer Day Camp to the campus of IUPUI!
Our camp serves youth ages 5-12, and offers a variety of traditional activities as well as fun enrichment options sure to appeal to both the campers and their adults.
Swim lessons will again be included for every camper at no additional cost to the family. We believe that swimming is a life skill, and are proud to offer this as a core component to our day camp.
We look forward to providing your camper with a fun and safe experience this summer!
Our traditional summer day camp experience, Jaguar Camp offers a variety of age-appropriate activities each day for your child to promote growth, development, and fun through sports and fitness, arts and crafts, reading, and STEM based games.

Survey the world of art by carving totem poles in the Pacific Northwest, crafting Aztec masks in the heart of Mexico and experimenting with the artistic traditions of history. In this thrilling camp, students get creative examining the STEM processes that make art possible, like the delicate balance of water tension involved in Japanese Suminagashi paper or the cultural traditions and paleontology of Chinese -dragons. To develop this camp, PCS Edventures teamed up with an artist and art educator in order to embody the true insight of a creative mind. In Traveling Artist Camp, explore the different cultures of the world through the depth of their history, legacy and incredible works of art!
If you’re interested in becoming a lifeguard one day, then Junior Lifeguard Camp is for you! This enrichment camp is geared towards introducing children to the “real world” of lifeguarding and water safety. Instructors for this course are the Natatorium’s award-winning lifeguards and Ellis & Associates Lifeguard Instructors. Each participant will learn water safety and rescue protocol as well as CPR, first aid, and water surveillance. This course does not provide a CPR certification, but students gain valuable knowledge and experience.
Each camper will be tested the first day of camp and must be able to:
Swim 50 yards using crawl or breaststroke without resting
Do a surface dive, retrieve a 10lb brick and bring it to the wall from a depth of 4ft.
Swim underwater for 10 feet.
This art enrichment through the Herron School of Art + Design will provide campers with the chance to explore a variety of two and three-dimensional media, contemporary artists, and art supply experiments! Campers can look forward to paint splatters, pendulums that paint with gravity, and watercolor magic. 3-D worlds will be created using 3-D printed forms, found objects, and sustainable materials. Each day, campers will focus on a different experience or project. On Friday, campers will create their own art gallery in Herron, featuring work they created during the week. DATES
In partnership with the Music & Arts Technology department through the Purdue School of Engineering & Technology, students will explore the connections between music and coding using Scratch and Soundtrap. Students will "play with sound" by creating songs, adding sound effects to animations, and creating short podcasts. Students will also learn how to code musical ideas and use controllers to perform their pieces.
Children learn to take their bodies from calm to energized and back again. Campers use animal movements and noises to move and have fun. Music, books, and games are incorporated to engage children and help them connect with yoga across all areas of development. For older children, more advanced concepts are introduced, along with more complicated yoga poses. Classes are designed and adapted for the specific group of children, and are modified as needed to fit the mood and energy level of the campers on any given day.
Led by IUPUI's elite coaching staff, refine skills, work hard, have fun, and make new friends at our weeklong competitive swim camp! Come swim at the WorldFamous IU Natatorium and learn from DI coaches and athletes.
You must be a member of a USA Swimming club team and between the ages of 11-17 to participate.
