MOBILE GAME

Alongside the release of the collection, Off-White™ launched the “OFFKAT” mobile game. In this game, players navigate around OFFKAT City, attempting to spray graffiti on walls and buildings while avoiding detection by the police and security cameras. The player can choose to play as either Virgil Abloh or KATSU and must use running, jumping, and climbing skills to complete missions. The more graffiti they successfully spray, the closer they come to winning the battle against the corrupt mayor of the city. The game evokes the feel of classic games such as Jet Set Radio and early Grand Theft Auto.

DOS STORE ANALYSIS 2022

INItIAL LOOK

Upon entering the store, bags, shoes, and apparel are immediately visible on shelves and tables located at the back of the store. This placement was a deliberate choice by the brand to increase visibility of these lower-priced items. These items may not be the most representative of the brand, but they are placed in front as they are more likely to sell due to their affordability. By showcasing these items prominently, the store aims to attract more customers and drive sales.

FLAG SHIP STORE 95

PRODUCT DISTRIBUTION

Accessories are prominently displayed in the center of the store on large tables and shelves along one of the bigger walls. Each item is displayed individually, making it easy for customers to view all offerings without having to move items around. This approach showcases the accessories in a clean and organized manner, providing a more enjoyable shopping experience.

Clothing is located along the remaining sides of the store, close to the walls, and is hung rather than folded. Hanging the garments allows customers to see them directly and provides a more exclusive experience, as each piece is spaced out with room between each garment. Select pieces are also displayed on mannequins scattered throughout the store.

Denim pieces are located in a designated corner of the store. This setup makes it easy for customers who are specifically looking for denim to find what they’re looking for without having to search throughout the store. It also encourages customers to walk through the entire store, increasing the chances of viewing other pieces that may catch their eye.

STORE COLOR

The store showcases a color palette of Silver/Metallic, White, and Purple/Acne Pink, with raw stone accents. To enhance the fall aesthetic, special fur elements and interior decor have been added around the products.

Demographics of Store Visitors Interaction

During our visit, we observed a male customer in his mid-twenties, estimated to be around 26 years old, browsing and purchasing apparel. A female customer of similar age was also trying on a jacket.

The employees were friendly and assisted customers within the store. However, they were not very accommodating towards our analysis of the store, giving us only a maximum of 5 minutes to gather information and not offering to answer any specific questions.

The store’s minimalistic style aligns with the brand and features a lot of clear, open spaces, avoiding an overload of items. This makes it easier for customers to see all the products on display and creates a feeling of exclusivity and luxury. Large glass windows allow for plenty of natural light to enter the store, making it more inviting to people passing by. The calming lounge music adds to the pleasant shopping atmosphere, allowing customers to take their time browsing the products without feeling stressed. The store’s environment is consistent with the brand’s image.

Apparel: The men’s wear section features t-shirts, hoodies, knitted cardigans, jersey sweaters, and jeans. The color palette consists of basic colors such as black, white, and grey, as well as two eye-catching colors, blue and purple/red.

Accessories: The accessories for men’s wear include one pair of shoes and a selection of scarves and hats. The scarves come in three colors and have the same shape, while the hats are also available in three colors and share the same design.

Footwear: During our observation, we found two pairs of sneakers in the department store, each with a different style and color. Both were displayed in separate areas and not placed near the rest of the apparel and accessories. The sneakers were positioned among other shoes and brands and were displayed on different floors.

WOMENS WEAR

Apparel: The women’s wear section includes t-shirts, knitted cardigans, jersey sweaters, fleece sweaters, jeans, and shirts. The color palette consists of basic shades such as grey, beige, white, and black, as well as two bright colors, yellow and green.

Accessories: The accessories for women’s wear feature two types of bags, which are available in two sizes each and a total of three colors: purple, black, and orange. Additionally, the store offers three scarves with the same shape but different colors/prints, and two hats with the same shape but different colors.

A Comparison of Offerings with the DOS Store

The brand has opted to prioritize the basics and best-sellers that consumers consistently purchase, such as hoodies and t-shirts. They have also incorporated key items from the fall collection, including knitwear in eye-catching colors, to showcase both the permanent elements and seasonal elements of the brand, thereby strengthening brand identity and attracting new customers while retaining the loyalty of current ones.

The signature accessories, such as the two most popular bags, the recognizable hat with a face motif, and the iconic checkered scarves, have been selected to showcase the key items of the brand and increase brand recognition. These signature accessories are also available in the latest seasonal colors.

In conclusion, the department store offers a balance of classic staples and new variations, showcasing the brand’s signature items.

STORE REVIEW:

The Acne Studios department lacks a dedicated employee, creating a self-service atmosphere. The store is congested and cluttered, making it difficult to view products and there are fewer offerings compared to the brand’s own store. However, the clothing and accessory displays reflect the brand’s aesthetic, with hanging garments on racks, well-presented accessories on large tables, metallic accents, and the brand’s logo. This makes it easy to identify the space as part of Acne Studios and enhances the brand’s identity.

The store is disorganized as products are spread across multiple floors, with women’s wear, men’s wear, and shoes located in separate areas.
