Mark Gallup With 35 years under his belt, he’s seen and shot it all. From winning the Colorado Mountain Media awards, besting 25 global photographers, to dozens of magazine portfolios, about 100 covers, and countless images published worldwide. Covering snowy stories wherever snow falls on the planet, Mark has earned what some editors call “legend” status.

Mark has played an integral role in the development and success at Island Lake.

Both through the media coverage his photos produced, and the legendary skiers and snowboarders he brought to the lodge.

Matt Kuhn Born in Prince George, BC, and now a proud resident of Fernie since 2003, my life has been a blend of adventure and serendipity. My photography journey began at a remote fishing lodge, where the fusion of time, nature, and a newfound passion for the camera led me down an unexpected path. From capturing the raw beauty of my adventures to formal training in Victoria, I've evolved from a hobbyist to a professional. My work is a reflection of my journey, marked by versatility and a deep connection to the landscapes and lifestyles of British Columbia.

My approach to photography is deeply influenced by my personal passions – snowboarding, adventure motorcycling, and fly fishing. These hobbies are not just pastimes; they are integral to my artistic vision, bringing a sense of adventure and authenticity to my work.

Nick Nault I am lucky to have made my home in the beautiful mountain town of Fernie, BC and I feel fortunate to be surrounded by natural beauty and inspiring talent. My passion lies in outdoor photography, with a focus in action sports.

I grew up skiing and took up mountain biking upon moving to Fernie. Having always loved the media aspect of these sports, it was only a matter of time until I got behind the lens. Together with my passion for participating in these sports, the thrill and satisfaction I feel when capturing the movement brings a whole new excitement to these sports for me.

Living in a town that is blessed with stunning landscape and an economy based heavily on these seasonal activities, the passion I have developed for photography is easily satisfied.
